    Their Relationship Was Not Innocent

A torrential rain had fallen just last night, but today the weather was unexpectedly and exceptionally fine. A sliver of sunlight pierced through the gap, and even that small amount was a little dazzling.

Kong Xunwen opened his eyes, but his vision was still blurry. He blinked, only to realize he was wearing an eye mask.

He raised his hand, but before he could touch it, his vision brightened.

Qiu Zhijie had taken it off first.

Seeing that face, Kong Xunwen froze, immediately recalling everything that had happened yesterday.

Thanks to the eye mask, his eyes felt much more comfortable now, with only a slight soreness remaining. But he remembered the unrestrained crying fit from yesterday, and the raw psychological self-disclosure…

Because of Qiu Zhijie’s attitude, the shame he felt last night had mostly dissipated, but he still didn’t want to face this person right now.

    Before anything else.

Kong Xunwen felt a sense of reckless abandon. He didn’t bother finding a suitable time or even picking an appropriate place to talk. He just looked at the man who was steadily looking back at him and opened his mouth.

The young man had just woken up and was still nestled in the warm duvet. His face was flushed, bearing faint sleep marks, and his lips were red. After a night of warmth, the swelling in his eyes had subsided.

All that remained was the moistness brought out by the heat.

Only his fair neck was visible, where a few rare marks appeared—traces of his lack of control last night—along with a bite mark on one shoulder.

He looked soft and utterly easy to bully.

But Qiu Zhijie recalled how the young man had managed to speak such harsh words even in that moment yesterday. How could he possibly be easy to bully?

Seeing the youth open his lips again, about to say something, Qiu Zhijie quietly braced himself mentally.

“You should be clear about what I meant yesterday. Let’s break up. This is the best outcome right now.”

Qiu Zhijie’s hand, which was hanging down, clenched into a fist. He lowered his gaze, realizing his mental preparation hadn’t been sufficient.

He thought for a moment, relaxed his clenched jaw, and continued his previous action, pushing himself up as if he hadn’t heard the words. “Time to get up.”

Kong Xunwen’s gaze followed him. He frowned, disliking the dismissive attitude. “Did you hear what I said?”

“No!” Qiu Zhijie turned his head to stare at him, his expression deep and cold, chilling Kong Xunwen slightly. Then, the man’s expression softened instantly, as if he had changed faces. He told him, “No matter how many times you say it, I won’t hear it.”

Kong Xunwen was stunned by this unexpected attitude.

Why hadn’t he realized before that Qiu Zhijie could be so shameless?

Qiu Zhijie had used this time to slip on a set of loungewear and pulled open the curtains halfway.

The dazzling light flooded the room. Kong Xunwen was already wide awake, and now he couldn’t possibly sleep. The weather outside was beautiful. The man turned and walked to his side of the bed.

Only then did Kong Xunwen notice that Qiu Zhijie was holding another set of clothes. He placed them beside him and gently touched his ear. “Change your clothes and get up.”

Perhaps intimidated by the attitude, Kong Xunwen sat up to take the clothes.

Both their gazes fell simultaneously on the exposed arm. The jade-white arm, illuminated by the incoming light, looked even fairer, making the marks on it stand out more clearly.

Kong Xunwen’s face was expressionless. He continued to gather all the clothes and stuffed them inside the quilt.

Qiu Zhijie finally withdrew his gaze, his Adam’s apple moving slightly. “You change first. I’ll go prepare breakfast.”

He received a very quiet response.

The man turned and left, the closing door making a slight sound.

Kong Xunwen shifted, watching the wrinkles on the bulging quilt smooth out. Then, slowly, he took out the clothes from under the quilt and put them on.

When he opened the door and stepped out, Qiu Zhijie, who was always efficient in these matters, had already set the table with two bowls of plain noodles, some prepared side dishes, warm water, and a small plate of delicate pastries.

His fingers tightened slightly on the doorknob, turning white at the tips. Kong Xunwen slowly walked closer.

Qiu Zhijie came over with the washed chopsticks and gestured to him. “Sit down. We can eat.”

Slowly sitting down and picking up his chopsticks, Kong Xunwen glanced at the time on the watch he had just put on. He hesitated before speaking. “It’s almost ten. Aren’t you leaving?”

Qiu Zhijie was wearing soft loungewear, making him look much gentler, even giving him the air of a domestic husband.

But his voice, when he spoke, was still cool. “I can be late today.”

Kong Xunwen lowered his eyes and said nothing more.

Qiu Zhijie, however, threw out a sentence right then. “We’ll go together later.”

The head opposite him, which looked like a small mushroom trying to hide itself, instantly lifted. His light-colored eyes were fully revealed. “What?!”

Seeing that Qiu Zhijie didn’t respond, he quickly said, “I have to stream today. I’ve taken too many days off already; I can’t take another one.”

Qiu Zhijie smiled at him. “It’s fine. You don’t need to take time off. Isn’t your stream in the afternoon?”

“But I have preparation work to do in the morning!”

“That’s fine. You can do it at the studio.” Qiu Zhijie finished, giving Kong Xunwen no chance to speak. “Eat first. We’ll talk later.”

This was the slowest breakfast Kong Xunwen had ever eaten, as he tried to use this method to wait Qiu Zhijie out.

    Evidently, the strategy failed.

Kong Xunwen looked at the man opposite him, who was resting his chin on his hand, looking completely relaxed and unhurried. He confirmed that Qiu Zhijie was genuinely not in a rush.

After they finished eating, Qiu Zhijie half-hugged and half-led him to the dressing room. When they emerged again, both were dressed in outdoor clothes.

The young man, who didn’t want to leave, was eventually scooped up into a bridal carry because he was dawdling too much at the door. Qiu Zhijie put him down after closing the door. Although Kong Xunwen desperately wanted to run, he met the man’s intense gaze—

Kong Xunwen gave up the struggle.

Qiu Zhijie knew exactly how to restrain him. Coupled with their current strange relationship—they hadn’t actually broken up, and Kong Xunwen still felt he was the one at fault—a mix of emotions led him to be pulled by the wrist and into the car.

As the car drew closer to the studio, Kong Xunwen grew increasingly anxious.

In contrast, Qiu Zhijie beside him seemed to be blooming with happiness. His mood was visibly excellent to anyone who looked.

The young man’s mind wasn’t focused on the present. Qiu Zhijie’s lips curved slightly as he looked down at his hand intertwined with the youth’s.

On his large palm, several rings were stacked on his middle finger, the faint green color standing out brightly, alongside thin platinum bands. His index and pinky fingers also wore complementary rings.

Beneath this hand was a somewhat slender wrist, clearly defined by bone, held firmly. The palm and fingers were comparatively smaller, with only the thumb wearing a thick ring, also green. The other fingers looked somewhat bare.

The larger hand slowly moved down the wrist, creeping under the palm, seemingly covered by the smaller hand. But soon, several ringed fingers, with thick knuckles, slipped out from between the gaps, gradually filling the previously empty spaces.

    Then, they intertwined tightly.

Kong Xunwen eventually gave up thinking about how to face his colleagues later. He relaxed and leaned back against the car seat. It was only then that he realized something had been added to his hand.

    He looked down.

    Kong Xunwen: …

He stretched his fingers and wiggled them. His other hand also moved.

Kong Xunwen immediately accepted reality and stopped resisting.

Forget it. As things stood now, anyone who saw them could tell that his relationship with Qiu Zhijie was not innocent.

Tang Sha rested her chin on her hand and sighed. Why hadn’t CEO Qiu shown up today?

CEO Qiu usually got out of the car at the building entrance, and the car would automatically drive to the underground parking lot.

So generally, as the receptionist, she was the first person to see CEO Qiu. She was also always the one who posted the first handsome photo of CEO Qiu in the anonymous group chat. In her boring job, purifying her eyes was the only thing that made her happy.

    To put it simply:

    Handsome men made her happy!

It was understandable when he was on a business trip recently, but CEO Qiu should be working as usual today. It was already quite late; this was the first time she had seen him late.

Tang Sha lowered her head and looked at her computer, opening the anonymous group chat. There were no new messages, only a general notice that CEO Qiu would arrive later.

    Fine.

    She would wait—

Wait, was that CEO Qiu’s car approaching?

Tang Sha immediately straightened her posture and prepared her phone camera, checking that the flash was off and the sound was muted.

She smiled. Sure enough, she saw CEO Qiu’s familiar tall figure step out of the car, and her smile instantly gained confidence.

However, this time CEO Qiu didn’t immediately close the car door. Instead, he tugged at something in his hand… a person?

Tang Sha squinted, trying to use her 20/20 vision to clearly see the scene in the distant car. But no matter how good her eyesight was, that area was obscured. She wouldn’t be able to see it even with binoculars.

But her good eyesight quickly came in handy.

Because the next moment, the person CEO Qiu was pulling also got out of the car.

Tang Sha controlled her expression, using her professional demeanor to suppress her gossipy look, maintaining a calm smile while her eyes shone with unrestrained excitement.

Could this be the partner everyone had been discussing?

She was probably the first person to see them!

Look at those tightly clasped hands—oh, they were even interlocked fingers! There was no way this was just a handshake between brothers. And it looked like CEO Qiu was the one initiating it. It seemed CEO Qiu was definitely dating.

Looking at the figure, he was clearly a handsome man. Just as she thought, CEO Qiu’s taste was impeccable.

Okay, okay, let her see the true face of CEO Qiu’s partner, this handsome man or beauty…

Tang Sha’s eyes widened abruptly. Although she quickly controlled herself, the surprise still rippled in her heart. Internally she thought: Σ(°Д°)!

Who was she? She had been an employee here since the studio was founded. She had worked here for so long and had seen all the handsome men in the studio. She was the one who started sharing their photos in the anonymous group chat.

She was also always the first person to see those handsome men every morning. She knew them all by heart.

And the person standing before her now, although his style of dress was slightly different from usual, she still recognized him—unless he had an identical twin brother.

Tang Sha maintained her smile, but her gaze couldn’t help but sweep over the young man’s familiar face again and again.

Every time a handsome man left the studio or became a designer who no longer came to the studio frequently, she would silently mourn in her heart—of course, only for those rare, exceptionally handsome ones.

The person in front of her was one of them. Later, she remembered seeing updates about him in the anonymous group chat and had watched his live streams. She was so moved that she even placed an order.

It was just that too many people were buying, and she didn’t manage to grab one.

These days, whenever she had time, she would secretly check out his live stream. It was a unique pleasure to openly watch a handsome man, especially one she knew was not photogenic.

    But now…

Tang Sha couldn’t help but look again at their tightly interlocked hands.

She greeted the visibly cheerful CEO Qiu, receiving a corresponding response. As the two walked toward the elevator door, Tang Sha quickly pressed the record button. When she looked down, she realized she had taken a video.

When she looked up again, they were already in the elevator.

After watching it once, Tang Sha, with a satisfied, shipping smile, posted the video in the anonymous group chat.
