Chapter Index

Xie Jingshen pitifully protested under the bed for a long time but failed to move Jiang Yifeng’s determined heart.

He could only hug a quilt and huddle under the bed, curling up his legs. His tall body was bent, lying uncomfortably in the not-so-large space on the ground, seemingly forced to accept this cruel reality.

Jiang Yifeng carefully peered at him from the edge of the bed. Seeing Xie Jingshen sleeping so uneasily, a trace of guilt rose in Jiang Yifeng’s heart.

However, the pain in his legs from his thighs being pressed together made Jiang Yifeng harden his heart again.

He clung to the edge of the bed, revealing a pair of eyes, and said quietly, “Don’t act pitiful. It’s not that crowded to lie straight and sleep.”

“But it really is crowded.” Xie Jingshen opened his eyes, pointing at Jiang Yifeng’s big bed with a grievance: “I wanted us to sleep together on the bed… so I made this side a little narrower on purpose.”

As soon as Xie Jingshen said that, Jiang Yifeng’s heart softened.

Thinking that the furniture was still bought together with Xie Jingshen, and that the idea of living together was in his mind when they changed to a bigger bed, Jiang Yifeng felt bad seeing Xie Jingshen squeezed in the small gap between the wardrobe and the bed.

He reached out and pulled Xie Jingshen up, pursing his lips and whispering, “Then, sleep on the outside, and don’t try to snuggle inside.”

Xie Jingshen mumbled a few “uh-huh” sounds.

He hugged the quilt and smiled very obediently.

Jiang Yifeng felt like he had no energy in his lower body. He forced himself to close his eyes and gradually fell into a deep sleep in his exhaustion. However, before he was fully asleep, he felt a hand on his waist.

He subconsciously snuggled into the arms of the person next to him, and vaguely seemed to hear a light laugh.

When Jiang Yifeng woke up the next day, he only felt that his lower back was still sore.

Because there was no penetration, his waist didn’t hurt, but it was too much to toss around, so the area around his lower back was sore, and the inside of his thighs were chafed and painful. But the redness and swelling seemed to have subsided, and there was a somewhat smooth, greasy touch of medicinal ointment.

    Medicinal ointment…

Jiang Yifeng’s face changed: “Xie Jingshen, you—”

Xie Jingshen poked his head in from outside.

“Baby, you’re awake?” He squinted and smiled, “I’m in a meeting, I’ll talk later.”

After speaking, Xie Jingshen withdrew his gaze.

    Jiang Yifeng choked.

By the time Xie Jingshen finished the meeting, his anger had dissipated.

Jiang Yifeng angrily ordered takeout, while Xie Jingshen hugged him and made him sit on his lap, leaning over to watch Jiang Yifeng angrily poking the phone screen.

He reached back and held Jiang Yifeng’s empty hand, resting his chin on his shoulder and acting spoiled, “I was afraid you were too uncomfortable, don’t be angry.”

“You’re too much.” Jiang Yifeng’s eyes were red with anger, and he rubbed against Xie Jingshen’s body in a huff, “If you go too far again, you go stay in a hotel.”

    “No money.”

Xie Jingshen opened his eyes and told Jiang Yifeng a lie.

Jiang Yifeng didn’t believe it this time.

He pushed Xie Jingshen, wanting to get off his lap, but Xie Jingshen hugged him even tighter, his hand precisely gripping Jiang Yifeng’s waist.

His palm covered the area that could almost be held with one hand. While restraining Jiang Yifeng, Xie Jingshen shifted his attention: “Those screenwriters came up with another version of the script. I asked someone to help evaluate it. The message is that this version should be better than the previous one, but you need to pay attention to the shooting rhythm…”

Xie Jingshen didn’t understand the professional terms mentioned by industry insiders, but he could clearly repeat every word the other party said.

Jiang Yifeng listened carefully and summarized the most direct sentence: “That is, we need to find a good director.”

Jiang Yifeng thought of all the directors he knew, but the domestic directors with a good sense of rhythm either weren’t good at police and bandit dramas, or only made movies. But no matter how streamlined the script was, it couldn’t be condensed to the length of a movie, so he could only find a director to cooperate with.

However, Xie Jingshen’s next words made Jiang Yifeng even more conflicted.

“Liu Cheng is already assembling the crew. As long as the leads are in place, filming will start immediately. According to information from G circle capital, Liu Cheng has not changed the script.”

Liu Cheng’s script almost completely copied the original. He originally had a first draft in his hand. Although an out-of-court settlement was reached, there was not enough financial support.

The screenwriters’ script would probably have to wait three to five years after Liu Cheng’s finished product is released before it could be reshot. But if a good production team is not found at that time, the things filmed may not even be as good as Liu Cheng’s finished product as a newcomer.

What the audience wants is quality.

A work that only talks about feelings without quality can only become an object for others to sigh over when pretending to be X many years later.

Jiang Yifeng was held tightly by Xie Jingshen. While he was thinking about the problem, Xie Jingshen rubbed his cheek, not letting Jiang Yifeng have any thoughts, and he had to put all his thoughts on him to be satisfied.

Jiang Yifeng couldn’t stand the rubbing, so he could only hold Xie Jingshen’s face and frown, “If you rub again, I’ll get angry.”

“…” Xie Jingshen originally wanted to show his presence in front of Jiang Yifeng, but he didn’t expect Jiang Yifeng to regard his rubbing as a disturbance.

He aggrievedly hugged Jiang Yifeng and could only take the initiative to say, “Or should I help you?”

A trace of confusion appeared in Jiang Yifeng’s eyes.

“I have more money than any investor, and I believe in your ability to look at the script.” Xie Jingshen rubbed Jiang Yifeng’s cheek with his chin, causing Jiang Yifeng to reach out and push him away.

He couldn’t stand being stuck to by Xie Jingshen, so he could only shout “I’ll think about it again”, but he really wasn’t sure.

After all, they were family, and Jiang Yifeng was afraid that Xie Jingshen’s money would be wasted.

However, Jiang Yifeng changed his mind in a few days.

    Liu Cheng called him personally.

“I saw that you liked the script very much some time ago. My crew has been assembled, so I would like to invite you to play the role of our male supporting role…” Liu Cheng’s words were very sincere, but thinking about the source of his script, Jiang Yifeng felt a little absurd.

    He politely refused Liu Cheng.

Liu Cheng was not very happy.

“Mr. Jiang, you seemed so interested at the time, how can you break the contract temporarily?” Liu Cheng sighed, “You are really too much. Our crew has already been assembled, and the whole team is waiting for you. You also said that you are very interested in the script and are very satisfied…”

Liu Cheng’s complaints made Jiang Yifeng frown slightly.

He was dissatisfied with Liu Cheng at the time because he asked Liu Cheng a few questions about the script, but the other party had no consideration of his own at all, and the answers were completely irrelevant.

Jiang Yifeng was very enthusiastic when he first started talking about the script, but later he almost had nothing to say to Liu Cheng.

Now he is being blamed instead.

Jiang Yifeng took a deep breath.

“I’m not satisfied with the script.” Jiang Yifeng interrupted Liu Cheng, “Why is Zhao Yan afraid of the dark? You told me at the time that his childhood psychological shadow made him fear the darkness.”

“Is there a problem?” Liu Cheng said impatiently.

“If you didn’t write the script, read it a few more times.” Jiang Yifeng pressed the hang-up button.

He really didn’t know how Liu Cheng could regard a serial killer who would have abnormal convulsions and excitement in the dark because of the desire to kill as a poor little villain who was afraid of the dark because of childhood shadows.

    Jiang Yifeng pouted unhappily.

He turned his head and found Xie Jingshen, buried his head and acted spoiled: “Xie Jingshen, please help me.”
