Chapter Index

    Jiang Yifeng withdrew his gaze.

He whispered to the system, but heard no response.

The person behind him had already walked to his side, leaning down to ask Jiang Yifeng softly, “What’s wrong?” but Jiang Yifeng’s mind was blank.

His lips were slightly parted, and countless thoughts flashed through his mind.

    Jiang Yifeng’s pupils trembled violently.

He turned his head, his thoughts in a complete mess.

    “Hello, you–”

“Thank you for your help.” Jiang Yifeng shook hands with him, then randomly stuffed a few bills into his hand, and quickly entered the elevator. By the time the man behind him wanted to chase after him, the elevator doors had already closed.

Jiang Yifeng returned to the hotel and plunged headfirst into the bedding.

He didn’t hear a word of the tour the next day, and only barely recovered his senses on the return flight.

Jiang Yifeng sank his whole body into the seat. He suddenly remembered that day – Xie Jingshen also seemed to have disappeared for a few days.

“Is something going on?” Jiang Yifeng asked the system, but the system gave him no response.

Jiang Yifeng took a deep breath, closed his eyes tightly, and regained his composure.

    Just a few more days.

    Jiang Yifeng repeatedly told himself.

After the actor association’s organized visit and study tour ended, the leader invited a few people to have a farewell dinner together.

“The restaurants outside still don’t suit our taste…”

Speaking of restaurants, everyone felt the same way. After being away for a few days, all participating members lost an average of two pounds.

They booked a restaurant and each found a hotel to rest first.

Since the plane landed in Yan City, Jiang Yifeng went straight home with his luggage. He washed up, changed his clothes, sent a message to Guan Shaodong, and then went out to the appointment.

The agreed-upon location was a restaurant in the suburbs, with good privacy. Several celebrities were going together, so they booked the whole place in advance.

Jiang Yifeng was already familiar with the people present. The people were rowdy, and Jiang Yifeng had to drink a glass of wine and chat with them.

Some people had bad drinking habits. After only a few glasses of wine, they were completely drunk, dizzy andpā on the table. Others were red-faced and talkative.

Jiang Yifeng only felt that the wine today was too strong. He held his head and shook it, then took out his phone and sent a message to Luo Qi, asking him to come and pick him up.

Jiang Yifeng, unable to hold his liquor, leaned back in his chair and picked up a glass of hot water.

After drinking a bowl of water, Jiang Yifeng’s spirit barely improved. His eyelashes trembled, and it took him a long time to see the scene on the dining table clearly – several people present had already collapsed, some were still drinking, and some were talking.

Jiang Yifeng’s eyelids were too heavy to stay open, and he tilted his head and fell asleep on the chair.

When Jiang Yifeng fell asleep, he felt very thirsty, his throat hurt terribly, and the phone in his waist pocket was vibrating, pressing against his waist painfully.

He struggled to wake up. As soon as he opened his eyes, the dizziness made Jiang Yifeng want to vomit.

    Jiang Yifeng’s wrist moved.

His body stiffened, and his eyes suddenly became clear. The rope tied tightly around his wrist was cutting into his skin, and his twisting wrist couldn’t break free from the rough hemp rope that restrained him.

His temple throbbed like needles. He gritted his teeth to reach for his pocket, but the weight of the phone made the pocket slide backward, and his fingers couldn’t reach the edge of the pocket. He stretched his fingers but couldn’t grab the phone inside.

He remembered the bugs and cameras on his clothes – he casually clipped them onto his buttons when he got home, not thinking much of it at the time – a group of people were eating, Hu Zhaocheng shouldn’t be so anxious, he didn’t even bring a voice recorder when he went out.

Jiang Yifeng took a deep breath.

He squinted his eyes and looked out the window. The floor was high, and cold wind was blowing in through the open window. Judging from the sound of car horns, it was probably not too late yet.

However, his wrists were tied, his ankles were also bound, and his head was spinning.

Jiang Yifeng tentatively tried to step on the ground with his feet, wanting to hop to the door and open it, but as soon as he turned sideways, he fell directly off the bed.

“…” Jiang Yifeng bit his lip.

He rubbed against the wall, panting and planning to rest for a while.

The phone vibrated again for a while before hanging up. Jiang Yifeng couldn’t reach the pocket while lying on his side, but he was sure that the other party hadn’t had time to take away his phone – or that the person was very confident that he wouldn’t wake up before he returned.

Jiang Yifeng was thinking about who would do such a thing.

But after thinking about it, besides Hu Zhaocheng, he couldn’t think of anyone else.

“There were so many people at the actor association’s organized gathering… He’s crazy.” Jiang Yifeng’s expression twitched.

He didn’t know when Guan Shaodong would take a look at the camera. Jiang Yifeng didn’t even know who had tied him up.

    – Was he really not afraid that so many actors and directors would join forces to deal with him?

Before Jiang Yifeng could figure it out, he suddenly heard arguing in the hallway outside.

The noisy sounds were very loud. He leaned against the wall and finally heard the general gist of it.

    It was Gu Miao.

It seemed it really was Hu Zhaocheng.

“Luo Qi is already looking for people. Let him go before he wakes up. Don’t do it again, Hu Zhaocheng – if you keep doing this, no one can protect you! Hu Zhaocheng!”

Gu Miao’s voice became more and more agitated, and the person arguing with him also had a gloomy tone, his tense voice filled with anger and resentment.

“Gu Miao, this isn’t my fault! It’s you! You! Who forced me to find someone else? Who repeatedly said sweet words to me, said they liked me, and asked me to help deal with Jiang Yifeng? He’s a nobody, he can’t get ahead, and then you say you’re single, you say we’re just friends. Am I your friend? Five years! Am I your friend?!”

“I’m begging you, I just heard from Zhang Ran that you drugged your employees. Do you know how many people know you’ve committed a crime now? Are you really planning to go to jail? Hu Zhaocheng, you said you liked me, are you planning to go in? I’ll quit the entertainment industry and go with you, okay? Okay! Now, let him go!” Gu Miao’s emotions almost collapsed. He grabbed Hu Zhaocheng’s collar and pinned him against the wall. “Now, release him!”

Jiang Yifeng heard the sound of two people’s footsteps approaching the door.

His nerves tensed up suddenly –

Gu Miao kept saying, “Let him go before he wakes up and things get out of hand.”

Jiang Yifeng rubbed and fell to the ground, his eyes closing immediately.

Gu Miao entered the door first. He paused when he saw Jiang Yifeng lying on the ground, and then turned sharply to look at Hu Zhaocheng.

“Was he on the ground when you carried him in just now?”

Hu Zhaocheng entered the door behind Gu Miao, his face still wet with tears. His body tensed up the moment he saw Jiang Yifeng.

“He was on the bed just now…”

“He probably rolled off.” Gu Miao raised his hand to pick up Jiang Yifeng and threw him onto the bed, then went to untie the rope on his wrist.

Jiang Yifeng tried to relax his body, but Gu Miao’s hands seemed a little flustered, and he failed to pull open the tightly bound rope several times, his fingers slipping off the rope.

Jiang Yifeng felt Gu Miao’s hands touch his body several times.

“Did he really roll off?” Hu Zhaocheng’s voice had calmed down.

Gu Miao turned to glare at Hu Zhaocheng, but the movements of his fingers were still flustered: “People sleep in weird positions, it’s normal. Don’t you roll off the bed when I sleep with you?”

“Gu Miao.” Hu Zhaocheng stared into Gu Miao’s eyes: “I’m sorry.”

    Gu Miao’s expression changed instantly.

However, before he could react, he felt a sharp pain in his neck.

Hu Zhaocheng pushed Gu Miao aside. He directly grabbed Jiang Yifeng’s wrist and pulled him up, then took out scissors from the drawer to cut Jiang Yifeng’s clothes.

Jiang Yifeng silently opened his eyes and asked, enduring the discomfort, “What drug did you use?”

“Just a hallucinogen, not a drug, it’s not addictive, don’t worry.” Hu Zhaocheng had completely calmed down.

Looking at Jiang Yifeng’s beautiful face, the habit he had developed made him stir, but Gu Miao was lying next to him, so Hu Zhaocheng silently suppressed his emotions and continued to cut open Jiang Yifeng’s upper clothes.

“But the drug later may have some aphrodisiac components. We need to take some small photos of you willingly.” Hu Zhaocheng smiled at Jiang Yifeng: “You won’t tell anyone, right?”

Jiang Yifeng knew that he needed to stall for time now.

He didn’t know when Guan Shaodong would find him. He could only wait now.

The calmer Jiang Yifeng was at this time, the more he missed Xie Jingshen.

He chanted Xie Jingshen’s name in his heart to give himself courage. The next second, he raised his eyes and said, “You must be doing this for Gu Miao, right? Because you don’t want Gu Miao to be involved, so you deliberately… Do you like him that much?”

    “…” Hu Zhaocheng didn’t speak.

“Because you were abandoned by Gu Miao, and your identity as a boyfriend was publicly denied, you’re so angry?” Jiang Yifeng’s eyelashes trembled: “So you’re jealous of me and Guan Shaodong, thinking that I dare to interact with him openly, is it a kind of recognition to him?”

“I saw the questions you answered on TV, it was about Guan Shaodong. You didn’t deny it, just said that no one could guess the audience’s wishes.” Hu Zhaocheng’s movements paused. He seemed to be recalling: “If I had only gotten a yes answer at that time, we wouldn’t have become like this.”

    “Is that so?”

“I like him, I still like him until now. If he was willing to admit it at that time, we should have been married now. I would have transferred half of my property to him, and I would have given him all the resources.” Hu Zhaocheng smiled, his eyes staring at Jiang Yifeng: “Instead of giving the actor association’s spot to you. Even Gu Miao hasn’t been there, but you went…”

    Jiang Yifeng’s heart jumped.

    He seemed to realize something.

“So you did it on purpose?”

“There’s always a dinner after each ending. I just need to know where the dinner is… It’s easiest to bribe the waiters when the place is booked out. Only one person needs to agree, and everyone agrees.” Hu Zhaocheng boasted about his actions, and Jiang Yifeng’s stupidity: “You and Guan Shaodong are so close, and you’re so careful, I definitely can’t move when Guan Shaodong is with you… It’s very suitable, right.”

He had already ripped open Jiang Yifeng’s upper clothes, and even the locator and pinhole camera had been thrown aside – that thing was indeed very concealed, Hu Zhaocheng didn’t even realize what it was when he was close.

He took out a small bottle from the side cabinet, poured out a few pills and stuffed them into Jiang Yifeng’s mouth.

Hu Zhaocheng was strong, and Jiang Yifeng didn’t resist much before he was fed a mouthful of medicine.

He coughed a few times, but his mouth was covered until he swallowed it, then Hu Zhaocheng let go.

“I said, it’s not a bad drug.” Hu Zhaocheng was very calm. He silently looked at Jiang Yifeng, his eyes and tone were very calm: “It’s just a drug that can make you willing, a little hypnotic and aphrodisiac drug. It takes effect quickly, it should only take… a few minutes.”

As he spoke, he was about to cut Jiang Yifeng’s pants.

Jiang Yifeng immediately opened his mouth and dropped another bombshell.

“You don’t even want me because of vicarious compensation, right? Otherwise, why don’t you go to Guan Shaodong?” Jiang Yifeng’s eyes became more and more fierce: “Right, you’re actually just a scumbag who wants to cheat and find an excuse for yourself. You said it’s all Gu Miao’s fault… Why don’t you look for Guan Shaodong?”

Hu Zhaocheng’s thoughts were interrupted all at once.

    “I’m not.”

“You are, you say you like Gu Miao just to find a plausible excuse for yourself. You’re surrounded by beauties, and now you’re coming to me instead of Guan Shaodong, just because you like my face more, because I’m good-looking, I’m beautiful, not because you hate Gu Miao for not being willing to admit you.”

As Jiang Yifeng spoke, his pupils suddenly jumped.

The white frame in front of him popped up. Jiang Yifeng, who had been confident, suddenly had wet eyes, his eyes were red, and even his voice lowered.

But the nervous Hu Zhaocheng didn’t notice. His scissors had already cut into the position of his knee bend, and most of his pants had been torn open.

Hu Zhaocheng had already raised his phone, planning to take some threatening photos.

The next second, his eyes seemed to betàng by something, and then a person grabbed his wrist holding the phone and smashed him out.

However, before he could see clearly, his wrist had already been stepped on by one foot, and the other foot kicked his chin violently.

Hu Zhaocheng hadn’t reacted yet, and he passed out.

He didn’t even know who did it.

And Jiang Yifeng’s eyes filled with tears the moment he saw Xie Jingshen.

“Why did you only appear now… Xie Jingshen… You scared me to death.”

Jiang Yifeng rubbed his cheeks hard with the back of his hand.

Xie Jingshen helplessly stepped forward to touch his cheeks. He took off his coat and put it on Jiang Yifeng first, then squatted down and frowned, “I…”

Jiang Yifeng was originally smiling, but the next second the smile froze on his face.

Xie Jingshen’s body gradually became transparent.

His body was getting lighter and lighter, as if he was about to disappear.

Jiang Yifeng reached out to grab him, and Xie Jingshen also suddenly realized something.

He frowned, and quickly grabbed the rope on Jiang Yifeng’s wrist to untie it.

Hu Zhaocheng’s scissors were still lying on the bed. He used the scissors to untie the rope, and then cut open the rope on his ankles.

Xie Jingshen rubbed the wound on Jiang Yifeng’s wrist with his fingertips. He opened his mouth, but the words he said turned into air and could not be heard.

The place where his fingertips touched was slightly hot.

Jiang Yifeng subconsciously wanted to grab him, but Xie Jingshen was like dust, scattered in the air.
