Chapter 55: The Enthusiastic Mu Mother; Yu Chao at the Company

Shi Qingfeng heard the noise and looked up at Shi Qingyan.

Shi Qingyan got out of bed, his hair absolutely like a little lion with exploded fur.

Even when he went to the abandoned building to save him yesterday, his hair was like that.

“Go comb your hair, and go see General Manager Mu later.”

Shi Qingyan blinked, “Which General Manager Mu?”

    “Mu Yinian, your friend.”

Shi Qingyan said “Oh,” and went upstairs to fix his hair.

The two drove directly to the Mu family’s home.

He had agreed with Mu Yinian yesterday afternoon to visit and express their gratitude today, so Mu Yinian didn’t go to the company.

The Mu’s house was also a detached villa. Mu’s father wasn’t home; only Mu Yinian and Mu’s mother were there.

The maid led the two into the living room, and Mu’s mother’s face lit up with a smile when she saw the two young men.

Oh my, how could these two brothers be so good-looking? They were complete opposites of her own son.

She had always wanted sons like this, but unfortunately, she gave birth to a little ice block.

    “Hello, Auntie.”

“Are you Little Nian’s friends? Come in and sit down quickly.”

Mu Yinian’s normally cold face had a smile on it. Mu’s mother glanced at him, then looked at Mu Yinian as if she had discovered a new continent.

Her usually unsmiling son was actually smiling?!

    Was it raining red rain?

Had the sun risen in the west?

You should know that her son never had much expression and rarely smiled.

Mu’s mother was extremely enthusiastic towards anyone who could make her son smile.

Shi Qingfeng’s gentle voice struck Mu’s mother’s heart: “General Manager Mu helped us a lot yesterday, so we came to thank him especially.”

“Oh my, it’s just a small matter, no need to be so polite. You are Little Nian’s friends, and friends should help each other. Stay for lunch today.”

Shi Qingfeng smiled slightly, “Thank you, Auntie.”

That smile captivated Mu’s mother. How was this child raised? He was simply the son she had always imagined.

“You must be Little Nian’s savior, right? Little Nian told me everything. I’m so grateful to you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know who to cry to if I were bullied.”

Mu’s mother was as talkative as Qin Haizhao.

“Auntie, you don’t have to be so polite. It was just a matter of lifting a finger. We just happened to meet and help out. It shows we have a connection. Look, General Manager Mu helped me yesterday too.”

After some pleasantries, Mu’s mother pulled Shi Qingfeng aside to chat. No matter what they talked about, Shi Qingfeng could chime in with a few words, which made Mu’s mother even happier.

Shi Qingyan and Mu Yinian sat aside playing video games. Shi Qingyan quietly asked Mu Yinian, “Is your mother this enthusiastic with everyone?”

Mu Yinian shook his head. “My mother just likes people with your brother’s personality. She always says I’m cold and indifferent. She can’t resist someone who looks gentle and refined.”

Shi Qingyan was shocked for a moment. Was Mu’s mother really like that?

After lunch, Shi Qingfeng stayed for a while before getting up to say goodbye.

    “Come and play often.”

    “Definitely.”

Only after Shi Qingfeng drove away did he silently breathe a sigh of relief.

Mu’s mother was too enthusiastic, it was a bit overwhelming.

Shi Qingyan pursed his lips and snickered.

Watching the car drive away, Mu’s mother pulled Mu Yinian and said, “Tomorrow, find a way to invite Qingfeng to our house.”

Mu Yinian refused with a face full of rejection: “No way. If I didn’t know what you were like, I’d really be afraid that Dad would have a green hat on his head.”

Mu’s mother was so angry that she hit him: “You brat, what nonsense are you talking about?”

The mother and son chased each other, and Mu Yinian finally escaped Mu’s mother by running to the company.

His mother’s enthusiasm was a little scary.

Mu Yinian couldn’t help but admire Shi Qingfeng. His mother was so fiery and enthusiastic, yet he wasn’t intimidated at all and could even chat with her. He was really amazing.

This made Mu Yinian, a socially awkward person, extremely envious.

When would he be able to be like General Manager Shi?

Shi Qingfeng couldn’t stay idle, so he drove to the company.

As soon as the company’s employees saw Shi Qingyan, they all took out delicious snacks to feed him.

Shi Qingyan happily accepted them and treated them to milk tea.

“Sister Wenwen, is there anything fun happening lately?”

Liu Wenwen looked up and glanced around, then lowered her voice and said to Shi Qingyan, “A handsome guy came recently, but he’s not as handsome as you or General Manager Shi, or Chairman Shi. He’s a bit arrogant, um… I don’t really like him.”

Shi Qingyan was curious, “What’s his name?”

    “Yu Chao.”

    “Damn, why is it him?”

Liu Wenwen looked at Shi Qingyan’s expression, which looked like he had swallowed a fly, and asked him curiously, “What’s wrong? Do you know him?”

Shi Qingyan dug out a photo and pointed to the person inside, asking her, “Is it this person?”

After Liu Wenwen saw it clearly, she nodded vigorously, “It’s him.”

“He was my class monitor in college. He’s not a good person. He’s probably putting on an act because his family has money. Except for Ji Yang and me, everyone else in our class was Yu Chao’s bootlicker.”

Liu Wenwen hissed softly, “I knew it. I didn’t like him the first time I saw him. So he’s not a good person after all.”

As the two gossiped in low voices, they heard someone call out, “Qingyan.”

Damn it, you really can’t talk about the devil, and here he is.

Shi Qingyan forced a smile: “Class Monitor, what are you doing here?”

Yu Chao revealed a smug smile: “I came here to work and learn from experience.”

Liu Wenwen pretended to be working, listening to their conversation with her ears perked up.

    “Oh, congratulations.”

“Qingyan, are you working here too?”

Shi Qingyan didn’t really want to talk to him, so he said perfunctorily, “Uh-huh, right, Sister Wenwen, didn’t you say you had some documents for me to give to the president?”

Liu Wenwen immediately cooperated, grabbing a random document: “Yes, it’s this one.”

Shi Qingyan took the documents and ran off, but after running out a few steps, he came back and grabbed all the snacks.

Yu Chao watched Shi Qingyan run away, his smiling face turning gloomy.

Liu Wenwen quietly glanced at Yu Chao, confirming that he was not a good person.

You could tell just by looking at his expression.

Shi Qingyan ran into the office. Shi Mubai was processing documents. He looked at his youngest son running in, carrying a pile of snacks, and felt quite helpless.

“Dad, why is that Yu Chao at the company?”

As soon as Shi Qingyan got close, Shi Mubai smelled the potato chips on him.

Shi Mubai pushed up his glasses, “He came in through the normal process, what’s wrong?”

Shi Qingyan looked unwilling: “I don’t like him.”

“You’re not at the company every day anyway, you won’t see him often.”

Shi Qingyan pouted and started crunching on the potato chips.

What his dad said made a lot of sense.

Forget it, he should go find Qin Tingshen instead.

Just as he was about to get up, he saw Chu Yue come in.

Hey, there was gossip to be had.

“Big Brother Chu, are you here to see my brother?”

Chu Yue looked at Shi Mubai in the president’s seat, called out “Uncle,” and asked Shi Qingyan, “Where’s your brother?”

“Crunch crunch, I don’t know, you wait, I’ll go find him for you.”

After Shi Qingyan finished speaking, he took Chu Yue to the reception room.

It wasn’t suitable to gossip with his dad here, so he needed to find a new place.

Yu Chao watched Shi Qingyan walk away with another man, his eyes darkening.

Shi Qingyan summoned his brother with a phone call and sat aside waiting for the gossip.

Chu Yue had a distressed face, looking completely dejected.
