Chapter 9 So Hot, So Hot

Watching the few men who had just left become members of the zombie army, Jiang Xianchuan couldn’t help but sigh. It really is bad luck to run into selfish teammates.

The zombies wandered aimlessly around the complex for a while before falling back down, as if they were asleep.

Perhaps because of what happened to those few people, no one in the complex dared to take the box of supplies. After all, zombies were lying all over the ground. Going over there would be no different from suicide.

Seeing that there were no new developments, Jiang Xianchuan ended his observation and told Shi Yi and Li Lingyu what he had discovered.

“If there are other survivors in the complex, we need to be extra careful.”

Shi Yi couldn’t help but worry, “It’s okay, as long as we don’t go out, they can’t harm us. There are so many zombies downstairs guarding us.”

After lunch, Jiang Xianchuan originally planned to take a nap, but the changes outside the window caught his interest.

A man first threw out a phone playing music, while another man ran to the other side and shouted like crazy.

Their commotion attracted a lot of zombies, and the zombies rushed towards the source of the sound.

As for the few zombies still wandering around, they were dealt with by the man who used the music to attract the zombies’ attention.

Then, a woman took advantage of the chaos to stuff all the supplies from the supply box into her bag.

In this way, with the cooperation of the three, they returned to their building.

“So they’re from the next door building.”

But not long after they entered the building, the man who played the music stood on the balcony and shouted loudly, “Is there a doctor? My wife is about to give birth, please help! If you help us, I can give you the supplies we just got as a reward!”

No one responded to him. The man shouted twice more in desperation before kneeling on the ground and crying.

Even if there was a doctor who survived, who would risk their lives to help? I’m afraid his wife’s chances were slim.

    “What are you looking at?”

Li Lingyu was curious as he watched Jiang Xianchuan lying motionless on the windowsill. Then, he followed Jiang Xianchuan’s gaze to the floor he was pointing at and immediately understood everything.

“Even if the child is born, what then? Without supplies, it will still die. And he exposed his location like this, I’m afraid someone will try to snatch it.”

Jiang Xianchuan shook his head, got up, and closed the curtains, not wanting to continue watching. The apocalypse was too cruel for everyone.

“Why is it so hot?” Jiang Xianchuan kicked off the quilt. His forehead and back were covered in a thin layer of sweat. This feeling made him very uncomfortable.

Then he got up and looked outside. The accumulated snow had melted, and the zombies were no longer hibernating. They were wandering aimlessly on the road as usual.

Li Lingyu was also woken up by the heat. Seeing this, Jiang Xianchuan immediately turned on the air conditioner. As the air conditioner started, the temperature in the room gradually cooled down.

“The weather is changing so fast. It was clearly still very cold during the day.”

Jiang Xianchuan muttered as he put away the thick quilt. Seeing this, Li Lingyu also laid out the bamboo mat.

Then the two continued to lie on the bed, preparing to fall asleep, but were soon awakened by a loud thud outside.

    “Can’t we even get a good night’s sleep…”

Speechless as he was, he still needed to observe any abnormalities. Shi Yi was also startled by the noise. As soon as she opened the bedroom door, she found Jiang Xianchuan and Li Lingyu already looking at the commotion through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room.
