Chapter 65 I Want to Move Out
Time passed by unintentionally.
Soon, the clock hand quietly pointed to three o’clock.
Ye Xingchen silently got up, went to the garage to drive the car out, and parked it steadily in front of the villa.
Lin Yu stood at the door, his expression full of reluctance.
Ye Xingchen got out of the car, walked to Lin Yu’s side, gently patted him on the shoulder, signaling him to get in the car.
Along the way, the car was quiet and a little oppressive, with only a slight wind sound passing by the window.
Ye Xingchen drove attentively, occasionally glancing at Lin Yu out of the corner of his eye, while Lin Yu looked out the window, his thoughts drifting away.
Before long, the car slowly stopped at the Lin family villa. Ye Xingchen got out of the car and stood beside the car with Lin Yu.
Lin Yu looked at Ye Xingchen, his lips moved, as if he wanted to say something, but he didn’t know where to start.
Ye Xingchen took the lead in breaking the silence: “Yu, you’re home. Get some rest.”
Lin Yu nodded slightly, but still suppressed his emotions, not showing them on his face at all.
“Xingchen, thank you for these two days. Drive safely on your way back.”
Ye Xingchen looked at Lin Yu and couldn’t help but step forward and gently hug him.
“Don’t be so polite. Aren’t we best friends? Take care of yourself.”
Lin Yu was in Ye Xingchen’s arms, feeling the warmth, and the reluctance in his heart grew stronger.
After a moment, the two let go. Lin Yu slowly turned and walked towards the house, each step feeling as heavy as a thousand pounds.
He couldn’t help but turn his head and found that Ye Xingchen was still standing there, his eyes still following him.
Lin Yu waved to him, and Ye Xingchen waved back in response.
It wasn’t until Lin Yu’s figure disappeared at the entrance of the villa that Ye Xingchen turned around and returned to the car.
He sat in the driver’s seat, not starting the car for a long time, his mind full of bits and pieces of his time with Lin Yu.
At this time, Lin Yu returned home, and sat on the sofa as if he had lost his soul.
Not knowing how long had passed, Bai Shiya came home after playing mahjong. As soon as she entered the house, she noticed something unusual about her son. She walked to the living room and asked with concern:
“Son, what’s wrong? Didn’t you go to Xingchen’s house yesterday? Why do you seem so listless? Did you quarrel with him?”
Lin Yu was stunned by the question and didn’t know how to answer for a moment.
He was also afraid of his mother noticing something strange.
His mind was full of thoughts. He hesitated for a while, and finally slowly opened his mouth: “Mom, I want to move out.”
Bai Shiya frowned slightly, her eyes full of surprise. She sat down next to Lin Yu and gently took his hand.
“Why do you suddenly have this idea? Is the house uncomfortable to live in, or did something happen? Tell Mom.”
Lin Yu avoided his mother’s gaze, feeling conflicted in his heart and unsure how to explain.
After a moment of silence, he said in a low voice, “Mom, I just feel like I’ve grown up, and I want to have my own space and live my own life.”
Bai Shiya looked at her son, her eyes full of heartache and understanding.
She gently stroked Lin Yu’s head, “Son, Mom knows you’ve grown up and have your own ideas. But you suddenly said you wanted to move out, and Mom is a little worried. Have you really thought about it?”
Lin Yu nodded firmly.
“Mom, I’ve thought about it. I also have real estate under my name, and I can take care of myself.”
Bai Shiya pondered for a moment, then sighed!
“Since you’ve made up your mind, Mom won’t stop you. But you have to promise Mom, no matter what happens, you have to tell the family, you know?”
Lin Yu looked at his mother, his eyes slightly red.
“I know, Mom.”
Bai Shiya looked at him and asked, “Have you decided when you want to move out?”
Lin Yu thought for a moment and said, “As soon as possible. Mom, I’ll come back to see you and Dad often.”
Bai Shiya nodded with a smile.
“Okay, as long as you’ve thought it through yourself. Then I’ll go make you some of your favorite foods. Your dad will be back soon too.” After saying that, she turned and walked towards the kitchen, and the maid hurriedly followed to help.
Before long, Lin Qingfeng also returned.
He was still carrying his briefcase. As soon as he stepped into the house, the aroma of food wafted over.
He followed the aroma straight to the kitchen, saying with a smile, “What delicious food are you making? I smelled it from far away.”
Bai Shiya was standing in front of the stove, stir-frying the dishes in the pot in an orderly manner, while the maid was helping to cut and prepare other ingredients.
Bai Shiya looked back at Lin Qingfeng and said, “I’m making a few of his favorite dishes for our son. By the way, honey, our son wants to move out, what do you think?”
Lin Qingfeng was slightly stunned. After putting down his briefcase, he walked to Bai Shiya’s side and picked up a piece of sliced cucumber from the plate handed over by the maid to taste it.
“He’s such a big boy, if he wants to move out, let him. Children always have to be independent, we have to support him.”
Bai Shiya frowned slightly, a look of worry appearing on her face.
“That’s true, but I’m still worried.”
Lin Qingfeng patted Bai Shiya on the shoulder and comforted her, “Don’t worry, Yu has a sense of propriety.”
In the living room, Lin Yu faintly heard his parents’ conversation, and a warm current surged in his heart, mixed with a hint of complex emotions.
He was both touched by his parents’ understanding and a little apprehensive about the independent life that was about to come.
But when he thought about being able to have his own space to pursue inner peace, his eyes gradually became firm again.
The dishes were served, and the family sat around the dining table.
Lin Qingfeng looked at Lin Yu and took the lead in breaking the silence:
“Son, if you’ve thought about moving out, then move. Don’t worry about Mom and Dad. You have to take good care of yourself out there.”
Lin Yu looked at his father, his heart full of emotion.
“Dad, I know. I’ll take good care of myself. You guys take care of yourselves at home too.”
Bai Shiya put a chopstick of sweet and sour pork ribs, his favorite, into Lin Yu’s bowl.
“Son, when you live alone, don’t be casual about your meals. If you’re too busy, take a few more servants with you.”
Lin Yu replied with a smile, “Mom, don’t worry, I’ll arrange it. And I’ll often come back for meals. I’m still thinking about the dishes you make.”
Lin Qingfeng picked up his cup, took a sip of juice, and slowly said, “It’s good to live outside, you can train yourself. If you encounter any difficulties, don’t carry them yourself, tell the family, and we’ll find a solution together.”
Lin Yu responded seriously, “Dad, I understand. I’m grown up, I’ll handle it.”
Bai Shiya nodded slightly, her eyes full of concern.
“Son, don’t overwork yourself too much. Being happy in life is the most important thing.”
“Yeah, I know. I’m lucky to have parents like you who understand me and support me.”
The meal proceeded in a warm and slightly sentimental atmosphere.
