Chapter 43: I Want to Be With You Until Our Hair Turns White

Ye Xingchen tightly grabbed Lin Yu’s shoulders, turning him to face him, his eyes full of pain and unwillingness.

“Yu, I don’t believe you have no feelings for me at all!”

Lin Yu turned his head away, not looking at him.

“Think what you want. There are still 14 days, remember that.”

Ye Xingchen took a deep breath, suppressing the urgency in his heart, and said, “I won’t force you.”

He looked up at the time. It was already past 1 PM. Then he pushed Lin Yu gently and said, “Yu, aren’t you hungry? I’ll cook. What do you want to eat?”

Lin Yu, with his back turned, was still awkward, not saying a word.

Ye Xingchen sighed helplessly and turned to look at the refrigerator, only to find it empty.

He rarely cooked, so now, at a loss, Ye Xingchen hurriedly pulled Lin Yu up and said, “Hurry up and wash up.”

By the time they were ready, the hour hand already pointed to 1:30.

Ye Xingchen took Lin Yu to the supermarket. By the time they returned with groceries, it was almost 2 PM.

In the apartment elevator, they happened to encounter a Chinese girl strolling leisurely.

The girl had a neat ponytail and wore a light blue woolen coat. When her gaze met Ye Xingchen’s and Lin Yu’s, a hint of surprise and curiosity flashed in her eyes.

Ye Xingchen and Lin Yu walked side by side, carrying shopping bags full of ingredients.

Ye Xingchen gazed at Lin Yu with gentle eyes, while Lin Yu lowered his head slightly, his face still carrying a faint blush after washing up, looking slightly uncomfortable.

The girl couldn’t help but take a few more glances, secretly speculating about their relationship.

Ye Xingchen keenly noticed the girl’s gaze, frowned slightly, and pulled Lin Yu closer to his side.

Lin Yu raised his eyes and quickly glanced at Ye Xingchen, then quickly averted his gaze.

Seeing this, the girl pursed her lips, quickened her pace, and hurried away, leaving only Ye Xingchen and Lin Yu continuing to walk slowly towards home.

Back home, Ye Xingchen plunged into the kitchen and began to get busy.

Lin Yu sat in the living room, looking somewhat lost in thought.

The sounds of chopping vegetables and stir-frying came from the kitchen, and soon, fragrant aromas wafted out.

Lin Yu couldn’t help but walk to the kitchen door, watching Ye Xingchen skillfully stir-frying the dishes in the wok.

“Yu, wait a little longer, it’ll be ready soon,” Ye Xingchen said, turning his head and smiling at Lin Yu.

“Okay!” Lin Yu responded and returned to the living room to sit down.

Before long, Ye Xingchen came out carrying plates of delicious dishes: braised pork with a bright red color, fragrant braised prawns, and a simple vegetable tofu soup, refreshing and cleansing.

“Try it quickly, does it suit your taste?” Ye Xingchen looked at Lin Yu expectantly.

Lin Yu picked up his chopsticks, tasted a piece of braised pork, and nodded, saying, “Delicious.”

A satisfied smile appeared on Ye Xingchen’s face. The two ate quietly, but the atmosphere was somewhat subtle.

After the meal, Lin Yu took the initiative to help clear the table.

Ye Xingchen looked at his figure, the desire to keep him intensified in his heart.

It was almost 3:30 after washing the dishes. Lin Yu suggested going for a walk outside to digest their food, and Ye Xingchen happily agreed.

The afternoon sun appeared somewhat pale and weak in the cold air, and a breeze brought a touch of chill.

The two walked side by side, bundled up tightly.

As they walked, Ye Xingchen felt like someone was following them, and couldn’t help but look back several times, but each time he turned around, he didn’t see anyone.

“Xingchen, what’s wrong?” Lin Yu noticed Ye Xingchen’s strangeness and asked, the white breath he exhaled quickly dissipating into the cold air.

“I keep feeling like someone is following us, but I can’t see anyone,” Ye Xingchen said, frowning, and couldn’t help but shrink his neck.

“Could it be that you’re too sensitive? Who would follow us in this cold weather?”

Lin Yu looked around, his hands in his pockets, and didn’t notice anything unusual either.

“Maybe,” Ye Xingchen said, but he still felt uneasy in his heart, and unconsciously quickened his pace.

The two continued to walk forward, Ye Xingchen’s vigilance not lessening in the slightest, that vague sense of being followed lingering in his mind.

As they strolled, they reached a lakeside. The lake surface had already formed a thin layer of ice, reflecting a cold light under the dim sunlight.

The weeping willows by the lake had long lost their verdant green, and the bare branches trembled in the cold wind.

As Lin Yu walked, his shoelace accidentally came undone.

Seeing this, Ye Xingchen immediately squatted down and carefully tied it for him.

Lin Yu looked down at Ye Xingchen’s earnest appearance, and a trace of warmth couldn’t help but arise in his heart.

It was very quiet around them, only the sound of their breathing and the rustling of clothes as Ye Xingchen tied the shoelace.

After Ye Xingchen tied the shoelace, he slowly stood up, his gaze gently fixed on Lin Yu.

“Okay, be careful not to trip.”

Ye Xingchen’s voice sounded particularly warm in the cold air.

Lin Yu nodded lightly, and their eyes met. For a moment, it seemed that the coldness around them was dispelled by this warmth.

Ye Xingchen reached out and took Lin Yu’s hand, putting it in his own pocket. The two continued to walk slowly along the lake, leaving two rows of footprints, some deep and some shallow.

Just as they were about to turn back, it suddenly started snowing.

Snowflakes fluttered down, a beautiful sight.

Ye Xingchen turned his head to look at Lin Yu, his eyes full of deep affection.

“I heard that if you kiss the one you love when it snows, you’ll be together until your hair turns white. I want to be with you until our hair turns white!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he directly kissed Lin Yu.

Lin Yu was startled at first, then struggled forcefully, pushing and shoving in Ye Xingchen’s arms, but Ye Xingchen was too strong, and he couldn’t push him away at all.

“Ye… Xingchen, um… let… go! Um…” Lin Yu shouted, his voice drowned out by the howling wind and falling snowflakes.

But Ye Xingchen held him tightly, kissing him even more passionately.

At this time, the snow was falling heavier and heavier, and soon a thin layer of white accumulated on their shoulders and hair.

Lin Yu gradually gave up struggling, closed his eyes, and let the snowflakes fall on their faces, merging with their fervent emotions.

Lin Yu felt like he was about to suffocate, his mouth filled with Ye Xingchen’s scent.

At this moment of deep affection, Ye Xingchen seemed to keenly sense something was wrong. He suddenly released Lin Yu, looked around, and wondered, “Am I really just thinking too much?”

However, in a corner not far away, a figure was secretly photographing them with a camera. Seeing that Ye Xingchen was suspicious, the figure quickly slipped away.

The snow was falling heavier and heavier. Seeing that there was nothing unusual, Ye Xingchen stopped thinking about it and looked at Lin Yu again.

Lin Yu took a few deep breaths of fresh air, and once he caught his breath, he pushed Ye Xingchen away.

“What are you doing? What will people think if they see us outside like this?” He said angrily, and stomped off home.

Ye Xingchen didn’t dare to delay, and hurried to catch up, constantly saying, “Yu, don’t be angry, I just couldn’t help myself for a moment.”

The snow was falling heavier and heavier, and the two figures gradually disappeared into the snow.
