RT Chapter 13
by VolareThe three members of the Shu family didn’t sleep well last night, and woke up a bit late the next day.
A quick glance at the time showed it was almost ten o’clock, and they immediately started rushing around.
When Shao Bingheng and Shao Chengxi left yesterday, Shu Jingcheng invited Shao Chengxi to have lunch at the Shu residence today.
After lunch, he would take Shu Lin away.
Time was a bit tight, so they had to hurry.
Shao Chengxi was a very punctual person, arriving promptly at eleven thirty.
As he rang the doorbell, Shu Lin was in his room packing his luggage. Hearing the sound, his hand trembled, and his clothes fell to the floor.
Shu Lin had originally wanted to be an ostrich, hiding in his room and not coming out.
But his good upbringing wouldn’t allow him to be impolite.
He clenched his fists tightly, took several deep breaths, and constantly did mental preparation.
Just as he resolved to leave his bedroom, he suddenly heard a knock on the door.
It must be his sister coming to urge him.
He responded with an “Enter,” and the door was pushed open.
Shu Lin closed the wardrobe door, facing away from the door, listlessly saying, “Sis, I know he’s here. I’ll be out immediately.”
“Shu Lin, it’s me.”
It was a low male voice.
Hearing the voice, Shu Lin suddenly turned around, his eyes widening, nearly bumping into the wardrobe.
Shao Chengxi was standing right behind him.
“Careful.”
Shao Chengxi was quick to react, grabbing Shu Lin, gently pulling him into his arms.
Shu Lin’s nose was filled with a clear, icy scent. He was completely immersed in Shao Chengxi’s embrace, his face pressed tightly against his solid chest, feeling dizzy and disoriented.
“Shu Lin, are you alright?”
Shao Chengxi’s voice revealed no emotion, instantly reorienting Shu Lin.
He pushed Shao Chengxi away, taking two steps back in a fluster. “I’m, I’m fine. I’ll, I’ll be ready soon. It’s messy here, you, you can wait for me in the living room.”
Shao Chengxi glanced at the suitcase on the floor. “Need any help?”
“No need!” Shu Lin’s voice suddenly rose, then he realized his reaction was a bit excessive. “Not much stuff, I… I can do it myself.”
Shao Chengxi didn’t insist, retreating to the sofa and sitting down, watching him pack.
Shu Lin felt that gaze following him like a shadow, clumsily stuffing clothes into the suitcase.
“That…” he said, “I’m done packing. Let’s go out for lunch.”
Shao Chengxi stood up. “Alright.”
Shu Lin breathed a sigh of relief.
At the dining table, the atmosphere was somewhat subtle.
Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao were secretly observing their interactions.
“Xiao Lin,” Shu Lingxiao placed a piece of spare rib on her brother’s plate, “Eat more.”
Shu Lin kept his head down. “Thank you, Sis.”
He wouldn’t be able to eat home-cooked meals every day anymore.
Shao Chengxi put a piece of fish in Shu Lin’s bowl. “This is good too.”
Shu Lin was taken aback, and said softly, “Thank you…”
“Minister Shao,” Shu Jingcheng said, “Xiao Lin was spoiled growing up. He’s picky, can’t handle hardship, and is a bit capricious. You’re older than him, so I hope you’ll be understanding and tolerant.”
Shao Chengxi glanced at Shu Lin, who was engrossed in eating. “I think he’s very well-behaved. Uncle, rest assured, I will treat my Omega, your youngest son, well.”
After speaking, he paused for two seconds and added, “Uncle, please call me Chengxi from now on, or my full name is fine. I will change my address to Dad. We both need to adapt to each other, but we need to start somewhere.”
He looked at Shu Lingxiao, “In private, can I call you Sis, just like Shu Lin?”
Shu Lingxiao shrugged. “That’s how it should be. Aside from the fact that Shu Lin is my brother, I’m a few months older than you anyway. I can handle being called ‘Sis’.”
Shao Chengxi’s lips slightly curved upward. “That’s right, Sis.”
Shu Lin tilted his ear, subtly rotating his eyes, waiting for him to say something about future addressing towards himself, but he never heard it.
After lunch, Shao Chengxi didn’t stay any longer, getting up to take Shu Lin away.
Seeing them off downstairs, Shu Lin reluctantly looked at his father and sister.
“Xiao Lin,” Shu Jingcheng patted his son’s shoulder, “Take good care of yourself.”
Shu Lingxiao’s eyes were red. “Call us anytime if anything happens.”
Shu Lin nodded, sniffing.
They both knew that even if Shu Lin lived with Shao Chengxi in the future, Shu Lin could come back anytime.
But from now on, things would be different.
Shao Chengxi put the suitcase into the trunk, standing aside patiently waiting.
He knew the Shu family didn’t want to be ostentatious, so he didn’t bring any entourage and came alone.
“Go on,” Shu Jingcheng gently pushed Shu Lin.
Shu Lin got into the car and sat in the passenger seat.
Shao Chengxi started the car, opened the car window, and said to Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao, “Dad, Sis, we’re leaving now.”
The two of them were slightly stunned, then nodded.
The car drove farther and farther away, and Shu Lin saw his father and sister seeing him off through the rearview mirror.
Unable to see them anymore, Shu Lin felt empty inside, staring blankly out the window.
“Don’t be afraid.”
Suddenly, a large, warm hand covered his cold hand.
Shu Lin turned his head, his eyes meeting the owner of that hand.
Then, he smelled that clear, icy scent again.
More intense than ever before.
Instantly, he felt his nape beginning to burn.
The car drove into a heavily guarded high-end residential area. After passing through layers of security checks, it finally stopped in front of a detached villa.
Shao Chengxi got out of the car and opened the door for him.
Shu Lin followed Shao Chengxi into the villa, and was greeted by a simple and grand decorating style.
Dark gray walls, white leather sofas, the entire color scheme was cool and clean.
“The living room and movie room are on the first floor,” Shao Chengxi introduced, “Our bedroom and study are on the second floor.”
Shu Lin’s heart raced when he heard “our bedroom.”
He followed Shao Chengxi up the winding staircase, the wooden floor emitting a slight creaking sound.
The master bedroom was large, with lush greenery visible outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
A king-size bed occupied the center of the room, the deep blue sheets smooth and wrinkle-free.
Shu Lin stood at the door, his legs feeling weak.
He remembered what his father said last night, those Omega specialty products, thinking about tonight he would be with Shao Chengxi…
Suddenly, someone hugged him from behind.
“Do you like it?”
Shu Lin’s breath hitched, his voice trembling slightly. “I, I like it. This place… is very nice…”
Shao Chengxi’s hot breath tickled his ear. “This will be our home from now on.”
Shu Lin’s heart was pounding wildly, blushing as he gently struggled.
He smelled that icy scent getting stronger and stronger, with a hint of imperceptible restlessness.
“You, what’s wrong?” he said softly, “You, let go of me first. I’m not used to you like this…”
“Call my name,” Shao Chengxi’s voice was a bit hoarse. “If you’re really not used to it, call me brother, but you’re not allowed to address me so formally, understand?”
As he spoke, his kiss landed on Shu Lin’s reddening ear.
Shu Lin’s legs went weak instantly.
Shao Chengxi turned him around, looking directly at him. “Are you afraid?”
Shu Lin shook his head incessantly. “I… I don’t know…”
Shao Chengxi gently stroked his cheek. “Don’t be afraid, I’ll take it slow.”
After speaking, he lowered his head and kissed Shu Lin’s lips.
The kiss was very light, with a hint of exploration.
“You, you, don’t do this…” Shu Lin gasped helplessly, “It’s, it’s not even dark yet, I… I’m not ready yet…”
Shao Chengxi bit his lip as punishment. “What did I just say about how you should call me?”
As he spoke, his hands started getting restless.
“Don’t! Shao, Shao Chengxi…” Shu Lin cried out in fright.
Shao Chengxi stopped his movements, leaned down, forehead against his, chuckled softly. “Good boy, then we’ll wait until tonight…”
