RT Chapter 12
by VolareShu Lingxiao wanted to talk about their wedding.
She and Shu Jingcheng had discussed this last night.
“It’s about the wedding, we have some new ideas…”
Shao Chengxi took over her words:
“You mean that Shu Lin is still in school, so we won’t hold the wedding for now and remain secretly married until he graduates from university, then we’ll make it public.”
Shu Lingxiao was stunned: “That’s right.”
Shao Bingheng frowned, about to refuse, but Shao Chengxi spoke before him:
“Okay, making it public too early would subject Shu Lin to too much attention from all sides, making it impossible for him to complete his studies normally, so let him finish university quietly.”
Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao finally felt relieved.
They didn’t expect things to go so smoothly.
“Then it’s settled,” Shao Chengxi concluded, “Tomorrow is Saturday, I’ll personally pick up Shu Lin and bring him to my place, and we’ll start living together.”
Although Shao Bingheng was dissatisfied, he knew that his son always took charge of his own affairs, and even he, as his father, couldn’t control him, so he could only nod in agreement, then added:
“Now that the two families have reached an agreement, I invite you both to the Shao Residence next Saturday at 5 PM. Even if we don’t hold a public wedding for the time being, the proper etiquette cannot be neglected. Next Saturday, the Shao family will officially present betrothal gifts to your son, at least announcing their marriage to the Shao family, young and old.”
Shu Jingcheng readily agreed: “Okay, we’ll be there on time.”
Shu Lingxiao added: “Regarding my little Lin’s true identity…”
Shao Bingheng: “Don’t worry, everyone who needs to know he’s a US-Class Omega won’t blab about it outside. We have our rules for confidentiality.”
“That’s good.”
After seeing off the Shao family father and son, Shu Lingxiao breathed a long sigh of relief: “Shao Chengxi is quite reasonable. Dad, he’s too shrewd. He probably saw through our act long ago.”
The father and daughter knew in their hearts that it was impossible for Shu Lin to live with them.
They wanted Shu Lin to avoid living in the Shao Estate before graduating from university, so he wouldn’t have to watch the Shao family’s faces at such a young age.
Living alone with Shao Chengxi first would allow them to cultivate a good relationship, and if Shu Lin was bullied by others in the Shao family in the future, Shao Chengxi wouldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
As for a secret marriage, it was something they planned to strive for, whether or not it would succeed was unknown.
Unexpectedly, Shao Chengxi agreed on his own initiative.
It seemed that he was considering things from their perspective.
Deep down, they hoped that Shao Chengxi could agree to not touch Shu Lin yet.
At least until he turned twenty.
But they knew that this was simply a fantasy.
If they really brought it up, it would anger Shao Chengxi, touch his bottom line as an Alpha, and would definitely be counterproductive.
Helplessly, they could only fight for Shu Lin to this extent.
The rest, he could only face and adapt to himself, no one could help him.
Shu Lin attended classes all day and returned home around dinnertime.
When he opened the door, he saw his father and sister waiting for him in the living room.
“Little Lin, come sit down.” Shu Jingcheng patted the sofa next to him.
Shu Lin put down his schoolbag and sat next to Shu Jingcheng: “Dad, Sis, what did you talk about with the Shao family today?”
All day long, he had been wondering what Shao Chengxi would say to his family.
Knowing that he was anxious, Shu Lingxiao concisely told him about the joint decision.
Shu Lin was stunned: “A secret marriage first, and I’ll live alone with him?”
“Yes,” Shu Lingxiao explained, “This will give you time to slowly adapt to married life, and it will also be conducive to cultivating your relationship.”
Shu Lin looked at them, his nose stinging, “Dad, Sis…”
How could he not know his father and sister’s good intentions?
They deliberately kept him away, willing to play the bad guys in front of the Shao family, just to fight for greater freedom and rights for him, so that he could live a little easier in the Shao family.
It’s just…
“Tomorrow…” he said anxiously, “Do I have to move in with him tomorrow?”
Shu Jingcheng nodded with heartache: “Shao Chengxi will pick you up tomorrow.”
Shu Lin’s face turned red and white.
Thinking of Shao Chengxi’s stern face and the crisp, cold scent, he only felt apprehensive.
With something on his mind, he didn’t have much appetite during dinner.
In fact, Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao didn’t have an appetite either.
Fate was playing tricks on them.
Who would have thought that the youngest son of the family, who had been painstakingly cared for, would enter marriage so early, becoming someone else’s Omega at such a young age.
Most importantly, the person he was marrying was not the one he loved.
Likewise, the person he was marrying was not the one he admired.
A marriage of convenience, simple and crude, each taking what they needed.
For Shao Chengxi, and even the Shao family, Shu Lin’s greatest value was to accompany him through his rut.
This was something that both the Shu and Shao families knew well, yet tacitly understood.
It couldn’t be said out loud.
Some decency was still necessary.
It was late, Shu Lin lay in bed tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.
He recalled the AO sex education he had learned in physiology class. How did the textbook describe an Alpha’s rut?
Was his 99% pheromone compatibility with Shao Chengxi really that good?
Tomorrow night, he would be sleeping in the same bed with Shao Chengxi.
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but shiver.
Suddenly, a knock on the door sounded.
“Little Lin, are you asleep?” It was Shu Jingcheng’s voice.
Shu Lin quickly sat up: “No, Dad, come in.”
Shu Jingcheng pushed the door open and sat on the edge of the bed, looking a little embarrassed.
“Little Lin,” he hesitated, “You’re about to become an Alpha’s Omega, and after thinking about it, Dad thinks that some things… still need to be explained to you.”
Shu Lin was puzzled, “What things?”
“That…” Shu Jingcheng coughed and, in his embarrassment, told him some things about AOs.
“Also,” Shu Jingcheng said, as if throwing caution to the wind, “Try not to let Shao Chengxi mark you first. You two don’t have a foundation of love yet. If you’re marked under these circumstances, you’ll suffer too much…”
Shu Lin hid his face in the pillow in shame, “I know…”
Shu Jingcheng sighed and gently patted his son’s back.
After a long while, Shu Lin raised his head, tears welling up in his eyes, his voice trembling: “Dad, I… I’m scared…”
Shu Jingcheng’s heart clenched, and he hugged his son tightly, choking with sobs:
“Little Lin, don’t be afraid, take it slow. If Shao Chengxi really can’t control himself and is too rough with you, try to suppress him with your pheromones. You’re a US-Class Omega, and once you can skillfully use your pheromones, even an S-Class Alpha won’t be able to exert pheromone pressure on you.”
“Yeah…” Shu Lin gave a muffled response in his father’s arms.
