    Chapter 11: Negotiation and Game

At the same time, at the Shu residence.

Ten o’clock in the morning, the doorbell rang on time.

Shu Lingxiao opened the door with her uninjured hand.

Shao Chengxi was no longer in military uniform but in a dark blue casual suit, with less of his usual sharpness and more of an elegant air.

Standing beside him was a middle-aged Alpha with a powerful aura, whose features were somewhat similar to Shao Chengxi’s.

After welcoming the guests inside, the four of them took their seats on the sofas in the living room.

Shao Bingheng naturally sat in the main seat.

He glanced around the Shu family’s living room, his gaze landing on Shu Jingcheng, and gave a faint, distant smile, “Sorry for the intrusion.”

Shu Jingcheng politely returned the smile.

The atmosphere in the living room was somewhat delicate.

Shu Lingxiao and Shu Jingcheng were sizing up Shao Chengxi sitting across from them.

They had to admit that the S-Class Alpha in front of them was even more handsome and tall than he appeared on television, with an outstanding temperament and a natural leadership quality that gave people a sense of reliability.

Based on his previous public appearances, he did seem like a steady and responsible person.

If he could treat Shu Lin well and give him affection, he would indeed be a good Alpha partner.

However, how could someone from a wealthy and powerful family in the political arena possibly devote their precious time and energy to love and family?

Shao Bingheng was also scrutinizing the father and daughter sitting to his lower left.

    Unconsciously, he frowned.

After all, they were not a good match in terms of social status. Apart from the advantage of being a US-Class Omega, he was truly dissatisfied in other respects.

For a moment, both sides were silent.

Shao Chengxi considered for a moment before taking the lead in breaking the silence.

“Uncle, regarding the wedding between Shu Lin and me, what are your thoughts? Please feel free to share them.”

As for why he and Shu Lin had registered their marriage, even if it was a crude and straightforward transaction, it was already in the past and not worth wasting words and energy on.

Marriage was a fait accompli, and now they had to solve a series of problems that would arise after the marriage.

The primary issue was their wedding.

The wedding of one of the third-generation heirs of the Shao family was no small matter in the entire empire and had to be carefully considered.

Hearing him bring up the wedding right away, Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao were both taken aback. After exchanging a glance, Shu Jingcheng immediately replied:

“The wedding isn’t urgent. Since our two families have met today, I think it’s best to discuss some things in advance.”

Shao Chengxi: “Please feel free to share any thoughts you have, Uncle.”

Shu Jingcheng pursed his lips, making up his mind, “As you know, my Shu Lin is not even twenty years old yet. He’s too young and not suitable for married life. I think it would be better for him to continue living with me and his sister until he graduates from university. We can use this time to teach him, and after he graduates…”

“That won’t do.” Shao Bingheng interrupted him, “Shu Lin has reached the legal age for marriage, he is not young. Since he has already registered his marriage with my Chengxi, he should move into the Shao Residence and live with my son. There is no reason for him to still live with his Omega father after getting married.”

Shao Bingheng seemed to have a big issue with this, and after saying that, he added firmly:

“If this gets out, how will the Shao family maintain its standing? I hope the Shu family can consider the issue from the Shao family’s perspective.”

Immediately afterward, Shao Chengxi also clearly stated his position:

“Uncle, I’m sorry, but on this point, my father and I share the same opinion. Shu Lin is already my Omega, and he needs to adapt to living with me as soon as possible.”

Being rejected on the spot by the Shao family, father and son, Shu Jingcheng’s expression became a little strained.

Seeing this, Shu Lingxiao spoke up in a timely manner, “First of all, my father and I express our sincere gratitude for Minister Shao’s act of saving my brother.”

As soon as these words were spoken, Shu Jingcheng’s expression softened again, and he nodded in agreement.

Shao Chengxi’s brow slightly relaxed, signaling her to continue.

Shu Lingxiao’s gaze slowly swept across the faces of the Shao family, father and son, and she said sincerely:

“The Shu family is not one to kick away the ladder after crossing the river, nor are we ungrateful. We will certainly not evade problems or be passive. Since my brother and Minister Shao are destined to have this marriage, I think that as things stand, both families hope that they can live happily after their marriage. What do you say, Chairman Shao?”

Shao Bingheng nodded slightly, “That’s right, although I do have some dissatisfaction with this child Shu Lin, since he has already registered his marriage with my son, I acknowledge this marriage, and naturally, I want them to be happy.”

Hearing him say that he was dissatisfied with Shu Lin, displeasure flashed in Shu Jingcheng’s eyes.

His Shu Lin was so good-looking, with a gentle temperament and a smart little brain. He was studying at the prestigious Imperial University and was a one-in-a-million US-Class Omega.

What right did Shao Bingheng have to dislike his precious son?

Hmph, he had a whole lot of complaints about Shao Bingheng’s son too.

Just the fact that he was eight years older than his precious son made him unhappy.

An old ox trying to eat young grass.

    And also…

“Let me clarify, I have no dissatisfaction with Shu Lin. I am his Alpha, and I have the most say in this matter.”

As soon as Shao Chengxi’s words came out, Shu Lingxiao keenly noticed that the faces of both fathers were quite interesting.

The displeasure in Shu Jingcheng’s eyes vanished, and he immediately looked triumphant.

On the other hand, Shao Bingheng’s face tightened, and he glared at Shao Chengxi with annoyance.

    Shu Lingxiao was secretly amused.

She composed herself and got back to the main topic:

“Since we have a consensus, that makes things easier. Similarly, I also ask that the two of you understand a father’s love and concern for his young son. Legally speaking, Shu Lin has indeed reached the legal age for marriage, but in terms of mentality, he is still a child. Please allow him to gradually adapt to the change in his identity.”

Shao Chengxi seemed thoughtful and said, “Please state your solution directly.”

Shu Lingxiao was not pretentious either, “Shu Lin does have to live with his Alpha, but my dad and I hope that you two will live separately first to cultivate your relationship. After he graduates, then he can formally move into the Shao family.”

Shao Bingheng’s expression was a little unsightly, “How can that be? The Shao family’s Omega…”

“Father,” Shao Chengxi interrupted him, “Shu Lin belongs to me, he is my Omega, and I also need to have an independent space to cultivate our relationship and complete the identity transformation brought about by the marital relationship.”

Hearing him say this, Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Shao Bingheng was silent for a moment, then suddenly chuckled meaningfully, “It seems that my son really cares about his Omega.”

He turned to Shu Jingcheng, “Mr. Shu, since my son has decided this, I can’t say anything more. However…”

He paused meaningfully, “I hope your son can adapt as soon as possible, and not make the Shao family wait too long.”

“That’s only natural.” Shu Jingcheng was neither servile nor overbearing.

“There’s one more thing.” Shu Lingxiao pressed on while the iron was hot.
