QWAPMP Chapter 10
by VolareChapter Ten Werewolf Male Supporting Character
On the rooftop, Song Xiao shook a jar of wine twice, asking Yan Ye with his eyes if he wanted a couple of sips too.
Yan Ye shook his head. Song Xiao lightly tutted and started drinking by himself.
The scent of wine drifted into Yan Ye’s nose, causing him to turn his head and glance at the werewolf behind him who was drinking in big gulps.
Perhaps due to the wine, or because the moon was half-covered, Song Xiao’s werewolf features were revealed.
A fluffy tail was constantly wagging, and his two gray ears were even a little red.
Yan Ye watched for a while without realizing it. Song Xiao also noticed him looking and stopped drinking, looking back at him dissatisfied. “Why are you staring at me?”
Yan Ye’s answer didn’t match the question. “Is the wine good?”
Song Xiao thought he had changed his mind and suddenly wanted to drink, so he threw the remaining half bottle in his hand over, saying, “You’d know if you took a sip.”
Yan Ye took the wine, screwed the cap back on, and sat down on the rooftop. “Your tail is out!”
Because he had drunk too much, Song Xiao’s head was still a bit muddled. “This is a wolf’s tail.”
Saying that, he subconsciously reached back to hold the large fluffy tail behind him, a hint of surprise showing in his eyes.
How did his tail come out?
Did his ears come out too?
Song Xiao held his tail with one hand and touched his ears with the other, looking somewhat comical and bewildered.
When he came back to his senses, the person watching felt a bit of pity.
Because Song Xiao had already hidden the big tail behind him, and the expression on his face was exactly the same as seven years ago, not very likable.
“Why are you here?” This was the second question Song Xiao asked tonight.
He sat down next to Yan Ye, with many doubts in his heart.
“Stay away from Nan Ni,” Yan Ye said calmly, stating the purpose of his visit.
This sentence of his could easily cause some misunderstandings.
“Why? You like Nan Ni too?” Song Xiao’s voice was challenging, but his eyes were cold.
Like too? Yan Ye thought about this sentence and looked up, asking, “You like Nan Ni?”
Song Xiao scoffed, “If you can like the woman who is your lifesaver’s wife, why can’t I?”
Yan Ye looked at him deeply, thought about this sentence in his head, ‘Does the male supporting character deliberately cause misunderstanding between the male and female leads because he likes the female lead?’
Evidently, Yan Ye ignored the first half of the sentence and didn’t realize what he had made Song Xiao misunderstand.
Seeing that Yan Ye hadn’t spoken again, Song Xiao thought he was ashamed to continue and scoffed, muttering, “You still have the nerve to talk about me.”
Yan Ye’s hearing had always been good. Hearing this, he looked at him speechless and said, “I’m not as shameless as you!”
No matter how kind or good the female lead was, she was not someone he should like.
Song Xiao snorted and laughed, not taking his words to heart, still treating him as a love rival. “Give me back the wine.”
Saying that, he leaned over and snatched the half-empty bottle of wine.
Because he didn’t want to give it to Yan Ye to drink, Song Xiao finished the remaining wine in one go, then sprawled out on all fours and immediately started snoring.
Yan Ye caught the wine bottle that was about to roll off the rooftop and placed it aside. He stood up, ready to leave.
Song Xiao was so drunk tonight that he probably wouldn’t meet the female lead anytime soon. The female lead was going to the Poison Mist Forest tomorrow morning, so they could just miss each other.
Speaking of which, this wine had helped him a little.
A smile appeared on Yan Ye’s lips. As he stood up to leave, his clothes seemed to be snagged by something.
Looking down, a small wolf pup, the size of a small dog, was pulling at his clothes with its two front paws.
Yan Ye hadn’t expected that the drunk male supporting character would turn into a wolf pup.
One should know that the male supporting character was not a pure-blooded werewolf and couldn’t transform into wolf form anytime he wanted.
Yan Ye bent down, picked up the small wolf pup at his feet, and weighed it in his hand. Seeing that it was drunk and unconscious, he flicked its forehead with his finger.
“Like this, you probably wouldn’t even have time to say a word to the female lead before she cuts you down with her sword!”
Song Xiao seemed to be hurt by his flick. His paws flailed wildly, and he opened his teeth, about to bite someone.
Yan Ye didn’t take his two small sharp teeth seriously but still warned him, “Keep moving like that, and believe it or not, I’ll grind down your claws and teeth.”
Although Song Xiao was drunk, he still understood the meaning in his words.
“Owoooo…”
The small wolf pup’s howling kept ringing beside Yan Ye. Threatened and afraid, he used his voice to express dissatisfaction and protest.
Yan Ye stared at him for a long time, without speaking to stop him, until the small wolf pup stopped by itself. It looked at Yan Ye with a questioning gaze, as if asking why this person wasn’t stopping him.
Yan Ye received his questioning gaze and looked up at the faint shadows appearing behind him.
These shadows all had tails.
They were werewolves, attracted by Song Xiao’s howling.
“The people who will kill you are here. Good luck,” Yan Ye released his hand, stepped back, and transformed into a black mist, disappearing into the air.
As Song Xiao’s body just touched the ground and before he could stand steadily, Yan Ye was already speeding through the dark night.
Song Xiao’s drunkenness was startled awake by his words. He turned his head sharply, his drunkenness completely gone, and he ran away.
What’s going on, why can’t I turn back into a werewolf? Song Xiao tried to mobilize the power within his body, but found it unusable.
Damn it, is tonight a full moon night?
Just as he thought this, he looked up and saw the full moon in the sky, his heart sinking.
He ran in front, with the werewolves behind him in hot pursuit. Some even shouted, “Song Xiao, tonight is your death day.”
Song Xiao used his paws forcefully, not daring to slow down his escape speed for a moment.
When a werewolf’s sharp claws swung down at him, he instinctively jumped and dodged, but was still injured by the opponent’s claws.
Five hideous claw marks appeared on the small wolf pup’s back, and the white fur was stained blood red.
Song Xiao gritted his teeth, not even having time to stop and lick his wounds.
If it wasn’t for the full moon tonight preventing him from transforming back into a werewolf, how could those little brats behind him injure him even a little bit!
It’s all the vampire’s fault. If he hadn’t suddenly appeared, he wouldn’t have been drinking with him here and been discovered by these people.
Thinking of the vampire’s words before leaving, Song Xiao became even angrier. His pair of eerie green eyes flickered several times. He sniffed the air with his nose and ran continuously in the direction of the old immortal’s scent.
Yan Ye could leave the male supporting character behind because he believed that with the male supporting character’s tough-as-a-cockroach life, he could survive the hands of those few werewolves.
As for what price he would have to pay, that was none of his concern.
He had just picked up a cup of black tea brewed by Little Anna, and before he could take a sip, a sound of trees collapsing resonated from outside the Castle.
Even the crows and bats that were resting were startled and flapped their wings to fly up.
Finally, they landed on the gates of the Castle one after another.
Song Xiao finally successfully escaped to the outer perimeter of the Castle. As he looked up, his gaze met the bats.
The bats’ gaze made him feel threatened, and his wolf fur almost bristled up.
Soon, after realizing where this familiar feeling came from, he relaxed and said breathlessly, “Yan Ye, save me.”
Unless it was absolutely necessary, Song Xiao didn’t want to ask that old immortal for help.
Through the eyes of the bats, Yan Ye took in the scene outside, including the person’s disheveled appearance.
He held the cup in his hand and did not speak, but his eyes looked at the red tea in the cup.
The black tea in the Castle seemed a bit too red, just as red as the blood he had just seen on the small wolf pup.
Little Anna heard the commotion and saw that the adult was still not drinking the tea she had personally brewed. She frowned and glanced outside. “Who is so presumptuous to cause such a commotion on the adult’s territory?”
Yan Ye curled his lips into a light smile and placed the untouched tea back on the tray. “Little Anna, you don’t need to do things like brewing tea. If you have nothing else to do, you can go and seek revenge.”
That man had lived too long; it was time for him to end.
If Anna didn’t take revenge, then the male lead would also find that man and avenge Nan Ni’s mother.
Anna pursed her lips, lowered her head, and quietly replied, “Okay.”
The Castle gate suddenly opened. The moment Song Xiao saw Yan Ye appear, his small body collapsed to the ground.
Just as the werewolves’ claws were about to strike from the forest, Yan Ye raised a finger, and a loud sound came from between his two fingers.
The trees in the forest seemed to suddenly come to life. Branches grew wildly, and vines drilled out from under the ground, piercing directly into the chests of several werewolves who were just about to run out of the forest.
“Second brother…”
The first to die was a werewolf with a broken finger.
His companions behind him were also pierced through the chest by vines because they tried to escape the forest.
The Castle, which hadn’t seen blood for a long time, was suddenly filled with the smell of blood.
The servants in the Castle couldn’t help but turn their heads to look this way.
Upon seeing their King, they respectfully lowered their heads again and continued doing what they were doing.
Yan Ye snapped his fingers in the air, and the trees in the forest returned to their original eerie appearance.
Just as he picked up the small wolf pup on the ground, the full moon in the sky was largely blocked by dark clouds.
Yan Ye looked at the small wolf pup he was holding, which had returned to human form, and couldn’t help but look up at the moon, a slight smile curling his lips.
The time was truly neither too early nor too late. The male supporting character could be considered to owe him a favor.
Yan Ye was just about to put the unconscious person on the ground and help him walk when he heard a soft murmur, “It hurts.”
The voice was very light, like sleep talk. Yan Ye wanted to pretend he didn’t hear it, but then he heard a voice that sounded like it was acting spoiled and relying on him, “It hurts, carry… carry me.”
Yan Ye didn’t continue walking forward. Instead, he lowered his head, looked at the blood on the male supporting character’s feet, his eyes heavy, and carried him sideways into the Castle.
It was the second time the King had carried someone back to the Castle. Who was this person this time?
Could it be a guest like Miss Anna?
The servants lowered their heads. After their King left, they looked up again curiously.
Soon, in less than a day, Anna heard the news that the adult had carried another person into the Castle.
Her face was pale, and she stood in the rose garden, dazed for a long time.
Why did the adult carry someone back?
This question troubled her all day. After her finger was scratched by a rose thorn, Anna lowered her head, bit her lip, and turned to walk towards the place where the King lived.
