Chapter 36: I Want to Kiss You.

Ye Tingtong really hoped he was wrong. He didn’t want to be so cold towards Xiao Yun, who shared a similar situation with him.

However, the other party’s actions were too obvious.

Initially, there was no sign of attraction in their interactions when he helped Xiao Yun. But after Shen Jun came over, Xiao Yun’s expression clearly changed. He abandoned Hu Cheng and came over to their side. Even on that short walk from the garden to the main hall, Xiao Yun deliberately walked closely to Shen Jun.

At that time, he thought that Xiao Yun’s confidence in receiving help depended on Shen Jun, and getting close to others might have been unintentional.

But in their current conversation, Xiao Yun couldn’t stop mentioning Shen Jun in every sentence. Even when Yu Mo came to call Shen Jun, the gaze lingered longer on Yu Mo than on him.

Finally, Xiao Yun even subtly inquired about going home with them, which completely crossed his bottom line.

Clearly, the banquet was held in a five-star hotel. Why would he choose to travel far to their private home?

He didn’t know if it was Xiao Yun’s lifelong experience that made him habitually seek strong people to attach himself to, or if it was his true nature. However, given that everyone knew he and Shen Jun were married, Xiao Yun’s current behavior was a slap in his face, and he was also trampling on the kindness he had shown.

After Ye Tingtong’s warning, the atmosphere completely froze.

Xiao Yun sensed the unease and tried to please him with several words, but Ye Tingtong ignored him.

Soon after, Ye Tingtong received a call from assistant Liu Hao, “President Shen has had too much to drink. I’ve booked two rooms upstairs in the private room. Do you want to come over?”

Taizi Bay was a bit far from the hotel, and Shen Jun had been toasted too much by other business people that night. He couldn’t refuse and ended up drinking too much.

Liu Hao knew that the two had a contractual marriage, so he thoughtfully booked two rooms.

“Shen’s Group also has shares in this hotel, so you can stay here with peace of mind,” Liu Hao said. “If you want to go back to Taizi Bay, I can call for a driver instead—”

Before he could finish speaking, he heard Ye Tingtong quickly say, “Is Shen Jun okay? Where is he? I’ll come over now!”

There was no hint of him wanting to separate from Shen Jun.

Liu Hao swallowed the rest of his words, feeling helpless. “No need, President Shen has already gone to find you.”

He had followed Shen Jun for many years. No matter how much Shen Jun drank, he always maintained a composed and dignified demeanor. But as his assistant, he still had a grasp on Shen Jun’s alcohol tolerance. Clearly, today had been a bit excessive.

After the phone call, Ye Tingtong put down his phone and noticed a shadow looming over his head. He turned around and found Shen Jun standing behind his sofa. One hand was resting on the back of the sofa. His tone was a little lazy, “Are you full?”

Shen Jun’s tall figure blocked the light from above, and Ye Tingtong couldn’t clearly see Shen Jun’s exact expression. However, Shen Jun’s facial contours seemed even more defined. The smell of alcohol mixed with Shen Jun’s unique scent wafted to Ye Tingtong’s nose, intoxicatingly rich.

Ye Tingtong looked up slightly, “How much did you drink?”

He was definitely different from his usual self.

Shen Jun curled the corners of his lips and brushed a strand of hair from his face, tucking it behind his ear. “A little too much.”

Ye Tingtong blinked. He hadn’t expected that Shen Jun wouldn’t be defensive when he was drunk.

He stood up and draped his jacket back over Shen Jun’s shoulders. Shen Jun let him do as he pleased, his gaze never leaving Ye Tingtong.

The heating in the hall was turned up high. Ye Tingtong’s cheeks were flushed. The milk cup on the table was already empty. Upon closer look, there was still a white trace on the corner of Ye Tingtong’s lips.

Shen Jun reached out and wiped it away, the touch soft and warm.

Ye Tingtong was buttoning up Shen Jun’s coat, looking at him questioningly. But he didn’t say anything, looking helpless like one would be with a drunk.

He remembered something and looked around the hall. “Why haven’t I seen Shen Minghuai? I haven’t had the chance to talk to him.”

He’d been told Shen Minghuai was in the garden, but when he went there, he only saw Hu Cheng and Xiao Yun’s disgusting affair.

Thinking of this, he looked back at Xiao Yun, who was still sitting on the sofa with a nervous expression. “I’ll ask Assistant Liu to book a room for you too.”

He couldn’t just abandon him after rescuing him from the fire.

But Xiao Yun seemed dissatisfied. He looked up at Shen Jun and bit his lip. “Sir, are you drunk? Do you need any help?”

Shen Jun glanced at this person who looked three parts similar to Ye Tingtong. His voice was indifferent. “No need.”

He didn’t leave any room for imagination.

However, Ye Tingtong was truly annoyed now. He glared at the pitiable-looking Xiao Yun and grabbed Shen Jun’s hand, leading him outside.

After walking for a while, the person behind him suddenly stopped. Ye Tingtong pulled him forward a bit, but he didn’t budge.

He turned back and found Shen Jun standing behind him, calm and collected.

Ye Tingtong was so angry that he let go of his hand. “If you want to go back to him, I will be really angry.”

He gritted his teeth, emphasizing again, “The really, really angry kind.”

Shen Jun: “I won’t go back to him.”

He had already ordered an investigation into Xiao Yun. Unlike Ye Tingtong, Xiao Yun wasn’t forced. He had willingly fallen into depravity. It was just that he had met a perverted benefactor like Hu Cheng, so it was difficult to get out. On the other hand, Hu Cheng had given him a lot of money to support his extravagant lifestyle.

The two were a perfect match.

He had been worried that Ye Tingtong would be soft-hearted and be exploited, but now it seemed he didn’t have to worry.

Ye Tingtong’s tone still carried a bit of the anger from before. He scrunched up his face and asked, “Then why aren’t you following me?”

“Because—” Shen Jun looked at his puffed-up cheeks and reached out to poke them. “The hotel room’s elevator is in the opposite direction.”

    Ye Tingtong: “…”

In the end, it was Shen Jun, who had drunk too much, who led Ye Tingtong to their rooms. Their rooms were next to each other. Ye Tingtong should have gone back to his own room. But after glancing at the person who was quietly watching him, he thought about it and followed Shen Jun inside.

He felt that Shen Jun was truly drunk.

However, Shen Jun’s actions weren’t any different from usual. He went into the hotel, looked around to make sure of the environment, and then sat down on the central sofa. He pulled off his tie and threw it aside, leaning back on the sofa to rest with his eyes closed.

Only then did a trace of exhaustion and drunkenness show on Shen Jun’s face.

Ye Tingtong glanced at him a few times, then walked behind him and placed his hands on his temples, gently massaging him.

When he used to attend parties with Shen Minghuai, he would occasionally be forced to drink. His tolerance was bad, and he would get dizzy after just a little bit. He would always massage his own temples like this.

After a while, Shen Jun’s expression relaxed a bit. Ye Tingtong thought about it and asked, “Should I get you some honey water?”

    It was simple and effective.

Shen Jun didn’t refuse, so Ye Tingtong called room service to order honey. The receptionist answered with “okay,” and then remembered something and replied, “You were looking for Mr. Shen Minghuai earlier. We just saw him. He said he’ll come find you later.”

The receptionist’s tone was a bit hesitant.

After all, this was a group under Shen’s Group, and the receptionist couldn’t hide the room number.

    Ye Tingtong said “okay.”

He didn’t plan to make things difficult for the staff. Besides, he did have something to talk to Shen Minghuai about.

However, just as he hung up the phone, he turned around and found that Shen Jun had opened his eyes at some point and was looking at him with his head tilted. “Shen Minghuai is coming?”

Ye Tingtong didn’t know how someone who was drunk could hear so clearly. “The receptionist said that Shen Minghuai would come to me later. I’ll go back after I make your honey water.”

    Shen Jun didn’t say anything.

Room service was very efficient. The honey arrived. Ye Tingtong made the honey water. “Try this.”

Shen Jun lowered his head and took a sip, his tone indifferent. “It’s hot.”

Ye Tingtong was puzzled. He had clearly tested the temperature beforehand. The water temperature should have been on the lower side.

He took the cup from Shen Jun and took a sip, since it tasted good, he took a big gulp without thinking. When he looked at the quickly decreasing amount of water, he felt a little embarrassed, “I accidentally drank all your honey water…”

Shen Jun finished the remaining bit. “It’s fine.”

Ye Tingtong once again marveled at Shen Jun’s good temper, but then he realized something was wrong. Had they just used the same cup?

He glanced at it. He didn’t know if it was just his imagination, but he felt like they had even drank from the same spot.

Ye Tingtong’s face immediately turned red. He completely forgot that he had been discussing the water temperature earlier. “Um…I’ll go make another cup for you.”

While adding the honey to the cup, Ye Tingtong was compelled to squat down and look, trying to find two lip prints on the rim of the cup to prove that he and Shen Jun hadn’t so coincidentally drunk from the same spot.

But after searching for a long time, not only did he not find a second one, even the first faint mark on the rim of the cup was obscured by the steam from the hot water.

While Ye Tingtong was distracted, a knock came from the door.

Ye Tingtong put down the stirring spoon and walked forward. Before he could reach it, Shen Minghuai’s voice came from behind the door, “Little Uncle, is Tingtong here with you?”

Shen Minghuai had knocked on the door next door for a while, but no one had answered. He knew that Shen Jun’s room was next to Ye Tingtong’s and guessed that the two might be together.

However, since the two were able to book two rooms, it proved that their relationship wasn’t what the outside world thought. Even if they were now in the same room, Shen Minghuai didn’t have too much of a reaction.

To him, this was already the best possible outcome.

Shen Minghuai knocked on the door again. “Tontzai, I heard you had something to talk to me about. If you can, could you take my contact information off the blacklist? That way, it would be much easier for us to communicate.”

“Also, it’s been a while since I went to school. Are there any teachers who are planning to fail me? Can you tell me about it!”

His tone was smiling and a little nostalgic, these were topics unique to the two of them.

Ye Tingtong’s hand was already on the doorknob, ready to open it, when a hand pressed down on the door, stopping him from opening it.

Shen Jun turned to look at him, his dark eyes intense. “Is my honey water ready?”

Ye Tingtong was stunned. “Not yet.”

Shen Jun glanced in the direction of the bar. “I’m a little thirsty.”

Shen Jun rarely asked things of him. Ye Tingtong immediately tossed the person outside the door to the back of his mind and quickly ran back. “I’ll get it ready right away. Just wait.”

He stirred the honey into the water until it was even. This time, Ye Tingtong secretly took a sip to make sure it wasn’t too hot before taking the cup to the door.

Shen Minghuai outside was still talking. “Little Uncle, I know you can hear me.”

    He had heard the voices.

“I’ve already persuaded my mom. If I work hard, she’ll allow me to be with Tingtong. In other words, we’ll have my family’s blessings. And right now, Grandma is always biased against you and Tingtong. She made things difficult for Tingtong during the New Year’s Eve dinner too.”

“Little Uncle, can you give Tingtong back to me? I can take care of him now.”

Shen Jun stood in front of the door, silent.

Ye Tingtong arrived late and didn’t hear any of this. He handed the honey water to Shen Jun, who took it and drank it all, very politely.

Ye Tingtong took the cup back. He was about to put it down when suddenly, someone gently embraced him.

Shen Jun pressed his chin on his shoulder, his tone indifferent. “Don’t.”

Ye Tingtong was stunned for a moment before he realized that Shen Jun had mistaken him for wanting to open the door and go to Shen Minghuai. He wanted to turn around and explain, but the hands around his waist slowly tightened, clearly not giving him the chance.

Even if Shen Jun was rational, he was still unreasonable when drunk.

The warm breath brushed against his ear, a little itchy. Ye Tingtong tilted his head to say something, but he had misjudged the distance between them. His lips barely grazed Shen Jun’s cheek.

    The atmosphere instantly changed.

The breathing beside him stopped for a moment. Ye Tingtong widened his eyes, feeling a little lost.

He pursed his lips, wanting to say something, but when he looked up, he was caught in Shen Jun’s dark, deep eyes, a mysterious and predatory gaze that made it hard for him to speak.

Shen Jun lowered his eyes. Ye Tingtong’s lips were soft, with a healthy red color. When he pursed his lips, the flesh formed a smooth curve, and they looked very kissable.

He lowered his head and leaned in.

Ye Tingtong nervously closed his eyes, but suddenly, his neck felt slightly cool. He looked down and saw a crystal-clear jade pendant dangling in front of him.

This was a collector’s item that Shen Jun had bid on that night. It was said that it was warm in winter and cool in summer, and it was of excellent quality.

Shen Jun released the hands that held him. “Don’t be afraid.”

Ye Tingtong tucked the jade into his clothes, lowered his head, and didn’t say anything.

    He wasn’t afraid at all.

Shen Jun stood behind him, looking at Ye Tingtong’s exposed, defenseless white nape, his voice gentle, “If you want to open the door, go ahead.”

He wouldn’t interfere with Ye Tingtong’s normal interactions. Shen Minghuai wasn’t really a big threat to him.

However, he didn’t know if it was the alcohol that suppressed some of his rationality, that feeling of displeasure still lingered in his heart. He even impulsively wanted to press Ye Tingtong against the door, making the person outside listen to their intimate sounds.

    It was very disrespectful.

The door was right in front of them. Without restraint, Ye Tingtong could open the door and leave at any time.

Ye Tingtong’s hand was already on the doorknob. Shen Jun rubbed his temples, trying to drive away the annoyance in his heart.

But before he could react, Ye Tingtong suddenly turned around and threw himself into his arms, his arms tightly wrapped around his waist.

Shen Jun instinctively held the person in his arms.

Ye Tingtong buried his face in his chest, his voice muffled. “If you’re unhappy, just say it. See, I didn’t want you to go to Xiao Yun, and I said it very directly.”

Why was Shen Jun so awkward? If he didn’t want him to leave, he should have just told him.

He had always been very obedient.

Shen Jun looked at the fluffy head in his arms and was silent for a moment. “You’re right.”

“I don’t want you to go to Shen Minghuai. He’s annoying.”

Ye Tingtong nodded, agreeing. “Then I won’t go.”

The favor for Yu Hui wasn’t urgent. Besides, he could ask the hotel staff to pass the message. As for whether or not Shen Minghuai went to school, it wasn’t something he should be concerned about.

Just as Ye Tingtong was thinking, Shen Jun suddenly raised his hand and lifted his face. “There’s one more thing.”

Ye Tingtong blinked. “You tell me.”

Shen Jun lowered his head and leaned in. The tips of their noses were almost touching. Their breaths were filled with the sweet fragrance of honey, but Shen Jun’s breath also carried a hint of alcohol, which was a little intoxicating.

    “I want to kiss you.”

Ye Tingtong widened his eyes and looked at the person in front of him. At that moment, their breaths seemed to become scalding hot. He instinctively tilted his head, but Shen Jun held his chin, not letting him escape.

Shen Jun repeated again, “I want to kiss you.”

He had wanted to do it when they were drinking the honey water.

Ye Tingtong hadn’t expected that after only being taught once, Shen Jun would be so adept. He blushed, lowered his eyes, and then lightly hummed in agreement.

Shen Jun’s kiss carried his unique gentleness, but slowly, it became more forceful. Their lips and tongues intertwined, Ye Tingtong seemed to taste alcohol, becoming dizzy. He could only grab the other’s lapel, his reaction was inexperienced and confused, obediently raising his head, completely handing the initiative over to Shen Jun.

He even heard the faint, ambiguous sound of water…

Shen Minghuai knocked on the door again from outside. “Little Uncle? Is Tingtong really not there with you?”

Ye Tingtong was being pressed against the door, and his confused consciousness briefly awakened. He blushed and tilted his head as the burning kiss landed on the side of his neck. “Shen Jun…”

Before he could finish speaking, his lips were lightly kissed, and a low voice said, “Don’t make a sound.”

Ye Tingtong flushed red and made eye contact with Shen Jun before hiding in his arms, indicating that he would be obedient.

Then, he heard Shen Jun seem to chuckle and then open his mouth, his voice low and husky.

    “He’s not here.”
