ATMAWTPM Chapter 4
by VolareChapter 4: Little Uncle, Have a Taste?
Shen Minghuai also saw Ye Tingtong’s post on his social media, his focus was on the watch on Ye Tingtong’s wrist.
It really suits him.
Liang Yuting beside him asked, “Minghuai, is there something important?”
During their time together, Shen Minghuai had been very considerate, taking care of her in every way. However, he had been looking at his phone for quite a while this time.
Shen Minghuai restrained the smile on his lips and put his phone back in his pocket, “It’s nothing, being with you is the most important.”
This sentence made Liang Yuting’s cheeks flush, “I heard there will be a fireworks show over the sea this evening, do you want to watch it together?”
Shen Minghuai: “Of course.”
The answer without hesitation made Liang Yuting’s smile even brighter.
She had always admired Shen Minghuai, but there were too many girls around him. She had her own restraint and pride, so she didn’t pursue him. She only mentioned it to her family in a roundabout way, but unexpectedly, it resulted in an embarrassing situation with Shen Jun during a matchmaking attempt.
She thought the matter had ended there, but unexpectedly, Shen Minghuai took the initiative to reach out to her. They had been meeting often recently and had become familiar with each other.
At this birthday banquet, Shen Minghuai even took the initiative to invite her as his female companion and introduced her to the Shen family.
The meaning was self-evident.
When the elders of both families were greeting each other, they were already discussing the date of their engagement.
This day, Shen Minghuai had been with Liang Yuting. Ye Tingtong had encountered them several times and had very tactfully not disturbed them.
No wonder Shen Minghuai had no time to accompany him to meet the Ye family. It turned out that he had a new target.
Anyway, the cruise party lasted for three days, so he wasn’t in a hurry.
However, he received an invitation from Shen Minghuai in the evening, asking him if he wanted to go to the bar area for a drink. He had also reserved the best seats for him for the fireworks show tonight.
Of course, Ye Tingtong wouldn’t refuse such a good thing.
However, he had overlooked the complex structure and the number of people in the bar area. When he called Shen Minghuai, the other party was obviously drunk, his tone was slurred, and it was as if they were speaking in coded messages. He couldn’t understand at all what Shen Minghuai was saying, and instead, he ended up going further astray.
When Ye Tingtong looked up, he found that he seemed to have reached a dead end. Just as he was about to turn back, he heard rustling conversations coming from the end.
“Are you sure Shen Jun drank it? If we’re discovered, none of us will have it easy.”
“Of course. Do you think the bet I lost to him at the table was for nothing? Just arrange for someone to go over, someone pure and obedient. He’s on the opposite terrace. I had the area cleared beforehand; there’s no one there.”
Ye Tingtong heard every word of their conversation clearly. He lowered his body and hid in the shadows. The two were moving quickly, and neither of them noticed his presence.
After they left, Ye Tingtong ran towards the opposite terrace without hesitation.
It was a perfect opportunity for a hero to save the beauty; it would be a waste not to go!
“Someone went in, do we need to stop him?”
Yu Mo saw the figure rushing over, he held down the restless security guard, and smiled mischievously, “No need to stop him. Your boss can handle it himself.”
Ye Tingtong made it to the opposite terrace without any obstruction. It was indeed very empty, which was in stark contrast to the noisy bar area not far away, further confirming what he had overheard.
However, when he got closer, he carefully slowed his footsteps and slowly peeked his head out.
If he was too late, he wouldn’t disturb their good time.
In the dim light of the terrace, a person was leaning against the railing. Long, powerful arms rested on the railing, with the tips of his fingers flickering red. A gust of wind brought a strong smell of tobacco.
Ye Tingtong suppressed the urge to sneeze and checked the corners of the terrace. After confirming that no one else was there, he dared to show himself and slowly walk over.
From what he had overheard, Shen Jun should have been drugged, but from the surface, Shen Jun seemed no different from usual.
Where did the problem lie?
Just as he took a step closer, Shen Jun in the darkness turned his head and glanced at him. At that moment, the lights from the bar area swept over, illuminating the other person’s appearance.
It was then that he realized how wrong his previous assumptions were.
The collar of his suit was casually open, and his eyes were deeper than the sea at night. When Ye Tingtong was stared at, he felt like a lamb to be slaughtered, with a sharp blade ready to cut his neck at any moment.
The two stared at each other in the darkness for a couple of seconds, and then Shen Jun raised his hand and extinguished the cigarette in his hand. The imposing aura around him also receded like the tide.
By the time Ye Tingtong came back to his senses, he realized that his heartbeat was almost deafening. He had clearly been frightened.
Ye Tingtong swallowed and tentatively asked, “Are you alright?”
Shen Jun raised his hand and turned on the light on the terrace. The light wasn’t strong, but it was enough to illuminate the small area.
Ye Tingtong then realized that the distance between them was very close. Shen Jun was half a head taller than him, and he had to look up to see his whole face.
In the dim light, Shen Jun’s profile appeared more defined, with sharp jawlines and narrow eyes that were cold and imposing when looking down at someone.
Shen Jun asked, “How did you get here?”
Ye Tingtong blinked and honestly said, “I walked.”
Shen Jun was silent for a second or two and didn’t delve into it further.
It was probably Yu Mo’s doing.
The sea breeze came in waves, quickly dispersing the smell of smoke on the terrace. Without the interference of the smoke, Ye Tingtong clearly smelled the strong smell of alcohol coming from Shen Jun, thick and potent.
“Have you had too much to drink?” Ye Tingtong didn’t forget his original intention, “Do you need help? I overheard that someone was going to harm you, so I immediately ran over.”
Shen Jun took a half step back, without showing any emotion, “A little bit of alcohol, not enough to kill anyone.”
Hearing his calm tone, Ye Tingtong couldn’t help but feel regret.
After Shen Jun finished speaking, he saw Ye Tingtong looking him up and down with dissatisfaction, as if he wished that he had multiple injuries right now, so that he could try to help.
This little action made the last trace of coldness disappear from Shen Jun, “There are people guarding outside; nothing will happen.”
“Ah?” Ye Tingtong asked in confusion, “But there was no one when I came—”
Before he could finish his words, he heard a scream, but it was quickly muffled, as if someone had forcibly covered his mouth.
Then, whether it was an illusion or not, Ye Tingtong heard a thud of something falling into the water.
A series of thoughts made his face pale, and he quickly explained, “I’m not with them! I came to save you!”
Because he was too anxious, Ye Tingtong didn’t even use honorifics this time.
Afraid that Shen Jun wouldn’t believe him, he grabbed the other’s sleeve tightly, “I don’t want to feed the fish; don’t throw me into the sea.”
Shen Jun looked down at his suit sleeve, which had been crumpled into a ball, and said, “I didn’t say I was going to throw you.”
Ye Tingtong asked uncertainly, “Really?”
Shen Jun replied, “I’ll have someone send you back.”
As soon as he said that, Ye Tingtong remembered the purpose of his outing, “I need to find Shen Minghuai. He said he reserved the best seats for me to watch the fireworks. I’ll call him again and ask where he is.”
It was quiet here, and they could hear each other clearly.
But when he took out his phone and saw the time, he realized that there was less than a minute before the fireworks were going to start.
At this time, how could he have time to run to where Shen Minghuai was to watch the fireworks!
Ye Tingtong resentfully put his phone back in his pocket, thinking that he might as well go back to his room and sleep early. But he heard Shen Jun next to him slowly say, “You can see the fireworks here too.”
As soon as he finished speaking, with a bang, fireworks began to rise into the air, blooming in the sky, forming brilliant flowers that fell like stars.
Ye Tingtong’s wide eyes reflected the dazzling fireworks; his expression was surprised yet gentle.
Then, Shen Jun saw him close his eyes and put his hands together.
Amidst the explosions, Shen Jun heard Ye Tingtong’s soft wish.
“Have a good year.”
After the fireworks ended, Ye Tingtong didn’t have any reason to stay here. He took the initiative to say, “I’ll go first! Shen Jun, thank you for watching the fireworks with me.”
Perhaps the atmosphere was just right, or perhaps Shen Jun, who had drunk some alcohol, was not as cold as he was during the day. Ye Tingtong naturally called out Shen Jun’s name and waved goodbye to him with a smile.
As soon as he left, Yu Mo sneaked in, “Why didn’t you keep him longer? And, aren’t you drunk?”
Shen Jun glanced at him and returned to his usual coldness, “Being drunk is not the same as being promiscuous.”
Yu Mo heard his serious tone and exclaimed exaggeratedly, “You’re not going to blame me now, are you? I’m creating opportunities for you, and you’re not taking them?”
“If it weren’t for me, the kid would have gone to watch the fireworks with Shen Minghuai.”
Shen Jun: “So?”
“We’ve known each other for so many years. Are you still pretending with me?” Yu Mo looked like he had seen through him, “I’ll ask you one question: is it you who facilitated Shen Minghuai’s and the Liang family’s daughter’s good fortune?”
“Okay, you owe me a big favor. You must let me pick out a few bottles of wine from the cellar today, or I’m not done with you.”
In the end, Shen Jun used three bottles of wine to shut Yu Mo up.
On the other side, Ye Tingtong went back to his room and went to bed very early and healthy. When he woke up the next day, he realized that Shen Minghuai had sent him a message last night.
[I’ve had too much to drink. Come pick me up.]
It was a message sent nearly at one o’clock in the morning.
Shen Minghuai had a good alcohol tolerance. If he said he had too much to drink, it must mean that he was really quite drunk.
Ye Tingtong thought about it and considerately asked a waiter for a glass of honey water and then headed towards Shen Minghuai’s room.
After all, it was the Shen family’s yacht, and Shen Minghuai’s room was on the top floor with the best view. Ye Tingtong got out of the elevator and was just about to ask a waiter for Shen Minghuai’s room number, when he saw Shen Jun walking towards him.
The hallway was not very wide. Ye Tingtong thought for a moment and took the initiative to turn to the side, leaving the majority of the space for Shen Jun to walk first.
Thinking about what happened last night made him feel embarrassed.
Someone had set a trap to catch someone, but he had foolishly jumped right into it, wanting benefits, it was extremely shameless.
Fortunately, Shen Jun hadn’t bothered with him and even let him watch the fireworks.
Ye Tingtong tried his best to suck in his stomach and stand against the wall, but Shen Jun stopped in front of him.
Ye Tingtong belatedly realized how funny his posture was; he almost stood on tiptoes, “Um, I’m just doing some morning exercise.”
Shen Jun very politely did not expose him, “Mm.”
This reply made Ye Tingtong even more uncomfortable. He simply spoke directly, “Excuse me, do you know where Shen Minghuai’s room is? I’m going to give him some honey water.”
Shen Jun slowly said, “There’s someone in his room.”
Ye Tingtong quickly understood, and was about to leave, but he saw Shen Jun glance at the honey water in his hand.
He suddenly remembered that Shen Jun had also drunk a lot last night.
Ye Tingtong tentatively offered the honey water, “Little Uncle, have a taste?”
