Chapter Index

    Green Mountains.

    Micro-Snow Palace.

Feng Jiang sat at the entrance of the alchemy room, its doors tightly shut, staring blankly at them.

Footsteps sounded behind him, and a voice asked, “Not cultivating? What are you doing here?”

    Feng Jiang: “…”

A flash of green robes caught his eye, but he couldn’t be bothered to look at Lin Zhu. He continued to prop his chin up, gazing at the doors of the alchemy room. “It’s almost done. I’m waiting.”

The story began two months prior.

Sect Leader Lin visited Green Mountains, claiming to have been entrusted by Second Palace Master Ye, bringing with him eight Reincarnation Flowers, many medicinal herbs from the Void Realm, and several rare main ingredients for the Scattered Infant Pill.

The Scattered Infant Pill could help those who took it shatter their nascent soul, increasing the success rate of achieving the Integration stage. It could be considered a precious and rare heavenly-grade medicinal pill.

The problem was that none of them were proficient in alchemy.

Feng Jiang’s pill formulas were well-written, sought-after ones, but after he wrote them, Wei Sheng Xian was always the one to refine them.

Sect Leader Lin came from the Pill Cauldron Sect and was also very knowledgeable about the principles of medicinal pills, but his history of exploding alchemy furnaces was also well-known. If there were enough materials, it would be fine to refine it a few more times. But if there was only one batch, who would dare let him take the risk?

So they both fell silent, facing the hard-won medicinal ingredients.

Feng Jiang: “Couldn’t you have had someone else in your Pill Cauldron Sect refine it before bringing it over?”

Lin Zhu: “The medicinal pills from your Micro-Snow Palace are all top-grade. How would I know if the original wasn’t refined by you?”

Feng Jiang: “What a joke, a Tribulation Stage Medicine Cultivator who can’t refine a single Scattered Infant Pill? You figure it out. Now that I’ve got the Reincarnation Flower, I’m going to prepare the ingredients.”

“No respect for elders. Is this how Palace Master Wei Sheng taught you? Go prepare the ingredients. If Feng Huai wakes up, I’ll go see him.”

“His name is Feng Huai. Sect Leader Lin, I’m leaving. Please find a way to refine the pill.”

Sect Leader Lin flicked his sleeves and left.

This little devil was just born like that, with a perverse temperament, capricious and moody. He wouldn’t bother with him. Bickering with this unfilial little beast here was at least better than being cautious and walking on thin ice in the Ghost Realm.

Shen Jingzhen didn’t listen to his words. He really didn’t know what situation he was in now, and what his thoughts were.

In the end, the opportunity to refine the pill came because a benevolent spirit deer from the back mountain of Misty Green Peak came to the Medicine Cottage to ask Feng Jiang to exchange spirit grass for his fawn to eat.

The deer brother said that he knew how to refine pills.

The Scattered Infant Pill finally had a place to land. And today, it was finally refined.

Inside the alchemy furnace was a brilliant pill. Feng Jiang thanked the deer brother, picked it up, and ate it.

He was breaking through in the alchemy room, Lin Zhu was protecting him outside, and Master Xia was embroidering not far away.

Lin Zhu couldn’t understand what Master Xia’s background was. He only watched as each stitch and thread, the dense stitches, were all kinds of array patterns and dharma seals. Finally, he hid all the secrets of heaven in them, weaving them into gorgeous embroidered patterns, which were shocking to see.

The waters of Micro-Snow Palace seemed to be no shallower than those of the Ghost Realm. But he couldn’t leave now.

With a soft sigh, Sect Leader Lin wandered aimlessly in the maple forest outside the Medicine Cottage. The maple leaves were like blood. The people of Micro-Snow Palace seemed to particularly like such rich and vivid colors.

Suddenly, Lin Zhu felt a chill behind him.

He immediately spun around and waved his sleeves, two fingers holding the faint dagger that was stabbing at him.

“Miss Ling Ming,” Lin Zhu said helplessly, “If you greet me like this every time, I’ll develop heart disease in a few days and there won’t be any medicine to save me.”

Ling Ming sheathed her knife: “The Immortal Dao Competition has already begun.”

“Tsk, tsk. The people who went to the Ghost Realm haven’t returned yet, and the Immortal Dao Competition is about to start. They really can’t wait for a moment.”

“The various sects are gathering. There aren’t many opportunities like this.”

“That’s true.” Lin Zhu muttered to himself, “If the things you want weren’t obtained in the Ghost Realm, then looking at the world…”

Looking at the world, only the new spiritual meridian of Micro-Snow Palace was eye-catching.

Now, Palace Master Wei Sheng and Second Palace Master Ye were both in the Ghost Realm and had not returned. The only ones left behind were Feng Jiang and an old man. A child carrying gold through a busy city, how many eyes were watching Green Mountains.

This was also the reason why Lin Zhu stayed in Green Mountains. Since he could no longer stay out of it, it was best not to be a fence-sitter swaying back and forth. Besides, after that one time, even if he wanted to sway to the Upper Purity Mountain, they might not be willing to accept him. Why not return kindness for kindness and offer charcoal in the snow?

Although Micro-Snow Palace was as warm as spring and might not need him to deliver charcoal. But the two little beasts who were three thousand miles apart were here, so he could be considered to be expressing his feelings as an elder.

…It’s been so long since he took the pill, and Feng Jiang hasn’t broken through yet. He’s really disappointing. Heaven gave him a magical and unpredictable poison technique, could it be that it took away his immortal cultivation talent?

He didn’t know how much time had passed, but finally, five-colored clouds and auspicious omens appeared in the sky above the alchemy room.

But in the distant sky, layers of brilliant immortal light and rosy clouds were also emerging, as if dark clouds were pressing down on the city, heading towards Green Mountains.

Lin Zhu smiled: “Miss Ling Ming, you stay here and guard your Fourth Palace Master. I’m going to the front of the mountain to meet with everyone.”

In the small town at the foot of Green Mountains, Duan Dacheng drew a bucket of water from the well and looked up at the sky.

“Xiao Cheng,” he called to his girl, “Do you think the clouds in the sky look like when we saw hundreds of immortals come to our house in Embracing Emerald Mountain Valley?”

Duan Xiaocheng put down her book and also looked there.

    “It’s similar,” she said.

“Aren’t immortals supposed to cultivate and not care about worldly affairs? What are they doing coming and going like this? When we lived in Embracing Emerald Mountain, we saw them coming to our house. How come we moved to Green Mountains and the immortals are still coming to our house?”

Duan Xiaocheng tilted her head, thinking, and reached out to the scroll, her finger pressing on the sentence she was reading, tracing as she read, “The world is bustling, all for profit; the world is bustling, all for profit.”

“Hey, what are you mumbling about.” Duan Dacheng was amused. The girl read with cadence, it really sounded like she was destined to be a scholar.

Under the mountain gate of Micro-Snow Palace, Sect Leader Lin reached out and casually broke off a branch, using it to tie up his long hair that was originally loose. Then he stood calmly and looked at the horizon.

He saw clouds and rosy clouds emerge like a spring, as if heavenly soldiers and generals were coming on clouds. He saw spiritual light scattered and falling, like many immortals arriving together.

Finally, what landed in front of the mountain gate of Micro-Snow Palace were immortal figures with celestial bearing and different costumes, the atmosphere of immortality sweeping over them. All kinds of spiritual instruments and magical treasures were dazzling. What a grand scene, comparable to the liveliness when the Ghost Gate opened.

Lin Zhu raised his eyes and looked over. All the sects were there, and all the important people were there.

For example, wasn’t that the leader of the Upper Purity Dao Sect, True Man Yuan Tai, at the head? The Dao Sect First Elder was also there. There were many people from Upper Purity Mountain. He could see at a glance the sect leaders or elders in charge of the Martial Sect, Sword Sect, and Pill Sect. No one was absent.

The Primordial Sect also sent a Tribulation Stage Supreme Elder, leading some people. As for other sects, there was no need to mention them. When the Ghost Gate opened, each sect had people who went, but the number of spots for each sect was limited, and there were always people left behind in the sect to be in charge. Once the Immortal Dao Competition began, these people naturally had to be present.

“Everyone,” Lin Zhu said calmly, bowing, “What brings you here?”
