Chapter 055: The Ending

Mother An quickly brought out a child, coaxing him as she sat back on the sofa, and handed the milk bottle to An Yu: “Go add some warm water.”

An Yu opened his mouth, took the milk bottle to the kitchen to add warm water, and came back. Mother An took it and put it in the child’s hand: “Sui Sui, drink water.”

The child was already two years old. He stopped crying after being coaxed by Mother An. With teary eyes, he held the milk bottle and drank, his eyes darting around at An Yu. He was especially well-behaved, neither crying nor fussing.

Mother An continued the previous conversation, asking Lu Qinyuan: “What’s your name?”

    Lu Qinyuan smiled: “Lu Qinyuan.”

Mother An said “Oh,” took the milk bottle from the child’s hand, pointed at An Yu and said: “Call him brother.”

An Yu was stunned on the spot, as if struck by lightning. The child was obedient, calling out to An Yu in a sweet and crisp voice: “Brother, brother…” After calling out, he didn’t know what was so happy, and giggled.

“Mom! This…” An Yu was in such a confused state that he couldn’t organize his words: “…When did this happen?”

“We can’t just keep you from coming home forever. If you don’t want to have children, we can still have them. We’ll have one. When we’re gone, you’ll still have someone to rely on.”

Mother An pointed at the child and said: “His name is An Sui, and he’s a boy.” But she couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed: “It would have been better if it was a girl. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about her being like you.”

An Yu was already speechless, his eyes constantly red. Mother An turned her head and talked to Lu Qinyuan again: “What do you do?”

Lu Qinyuan said: “I do some business, barely enough to make some money.”

“Not a gangster?” Mother An still remembered what An Yu had said about finding a gangster boss. Lu Qinyuan nodded: “Yes, I’m in the process of laundering it.”

When Mother An heard him say “yes,” her heart tightened, but after hearing him say he was laundering it, she relaxed a little. She advised: “Then don’t do anything illegal. If you can get out, then get out. Living life is about being safe and stable. What else do people want?”

Lu Qinyuan smiled and echoed: “That’s what I think too. After all, it’s not just about me anymore.”

The way he said that was a bit awkward, and An Yu couldn’t help but look at Lu Qinyuan. It sounded like he really meant it.

Lu Qinyuan smiled back at him, his eyes full of sincerity.

Father An didn’t come back until the evening. He only said one word to An Yu: “Good.” But he said a few more words to Lu Qinyuan: “I can see that you’re capable. I don’t know what you see in An Yu, but since you’re willing to come back with An Yu, it means there’s something between you. If An Yu doesn’t have a good life in the future, I’ll come looking for you.”

Lu Qinyuan said humbly: “Yes, Uncle. My name is Lu Qinyuan.”

The way home was unexpectedly smooth. An Yu’s parents thought they were a couple, so naturally they arranged for them to share a room for the night.

An Yu felt like he was dreaming all day. He never would have imagined that his parents would have another child for him.

Back then, he had been kicked out of the house by his parents. His mother was especially harsh, each blow hurting his bones.

An Yu thought wildly about a bunch of things, and suddenly felt a strange sensation in his body. He pushed Lu Qinyuan, who was lying next to him, and said: “Do you feel like something’s not right?”

Lu Qinyuan had been pretending to be a vase all day, occasionally opening his mouth to say something misleading, but it was also quite tiring. He was already feeling a bit sleepy. When An Yu pushed him, he immediately woke up: “What’s wrong?”

An Yu gritted his teeth, finding it hard to say. But the strange sensation in his body became clearer and clearer. After enduring it for a while, he asked in a low voice: “Are you hot?”

Lu Qinyuan wasn’t a master of love, but he had at least experienced two relationships, and he also ran a club like that. He understood what that sentence meant, but it was too strange coming from An Yu’s mouth. He opened his eyes and turned his head to look at An Yu.

An Yu’s face and ears were flushed red. He was trying hard to suppress himself. There was no bathroom in his bedroom. There was only one public one in the house, and his parents were still in the living room coaxing his little brother. Asking him to go to the bathroom to take care of it, he’d rather suffocate himself to death in his own bedroom.

Lu Qinyuan saw him enduring it so painfully and kindly suggested: “Why are you holding back? Wouldn’t it be better to just take care of it?”

“Get out!” An Yu was enduring it painfully, so his temper was particularly uncontrollable. It’s not like he didn’t know how to take care of it, but in front of an outsider, where was he supposed to put his face?

Lu Qinyuan had been feeling emotionally frustrated recently, so he had been in a low mood, which was why his temper had been somewhat restrained. Restrained didn’t mean he had changed. So An Yu’s “get out” was like a key, opening Pandora’s box containing all of Lu Qinyuan’s bad temper.

An Yu was struggling with the heat in his body when suddenly a hand was placed on his waist. He trembled and asked in a trembling voice: “You, where are you putting your hand!”

Lu Qinyuan only answered one word: “Get out.” Then he and An Yu started rolling around together.

An Yu didn’t dare to be loud, but Lu Qinyuan didn’t care at all. It was obvious that An Yu’s parents had given An Yu a drug to confirm their relationship. But An Yu’s parents had overlooked another possibility: what if they weren’t a couple?

That didn’t matter anymore. Even if they weren’t a couple, they had already rolled around together. An Yu was tossed around by Lu Qinyuan until he cried. He didn’t know where An Yu’s parents had gotten the drug, but it was extremely potent. The effects didn’t wear off until the second half of the night.

An Yu had his head buried in the blanket, not knowing if he was asleep or awake. Lu Qinyuan was half-lying down, touching An Yu’s hair with one hand, gently stroking it. He smoothed it, messed it up, then smoothed it again, playing with it repeatedly without getting bored.

An Yu raised his hand and pushed Lu Qinyuan’s hand away. Lu Qinyuan moved it away for a while, then stuck it back on and continued to rub.

Now that the two of them had had relations, they couldn’t pretend it hadn’t happened. Lu Qinyuan admitted that he didn’t have much feeling for An Yu at the moment, but he definitely didn’t dislike him. He was someone he could try to live with.

They had both loved deeply. One had been extremely affectionate, the other extremely hurt, but both were unforgettable. They probably wouldn’t be able to meet someone who touched their heart so deeply again.

In that case, the two of them were a perfect match. Neither of them would crave extreme affection and love. A plain and simple life would last longer.

Lu Qinyuan thought it through, rubbed An Yu’s head hard a few times, and said: “Follow me. Let’s have a good life together in the future.”

An Yu suddenly raised his head, his entire face flushed red, his hair messy. With red eyes, he said: “Don’t tease me. I’m not someone who can’t afford to play around. You don’t need to take responsibility.”

Lu Qinyuan reached out and brushed away the hair blocking his eyes: “I’m serious. Think about it carefully.”

An Yu looked at him with a look of seeing scum. Lu Qinyuan knew he had misunderstood and explained: “I just want to find someone I can live with, regardless of feelings. I think you’re very suitable.”

“Let me think about it.” An Yu slammed his head back on the pillow.

The next day, they woke up a little later. When An Yu walked out of the bedroom, Mother An’s eyes were like searchlights shining on him, making him have nowhere to escape, extremely awkward and embarrassed, wishing he could find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

Mother An’s eyes were sharp, and she could tell at a glance that An Yu was the bottom. Their relationship was real. Looking at their expressions again, they were used to it. She no longer had any expectations in her heart, and she let go of her worries.

Father An had gone to work early in the morning, showing no intention of making an exception for his son to take leave. Mother An was also very busy. After eating, she hurried An Yu away, telling him to remember to come back often in the future. She was very busy now and didn’t have time to take care of him.

Lu Qinyuan went to get the car. An Yu rubbed his still sore waist and stood downstairs, on the verge of tears. How did he become like spilled water?

“Doll?” Someone called him from behind. An Yu turned around and was stunned for a moment when he saw the person. The person was still as handsome and tall as before, his eyebrows and eyes still as gentle as they had always been, not changing at all.

“It really is you!” The person was An Yu’s childhood sweetheart, the love he still couldn’t forget, Yu Zaishan. He was holding a little girl in his arms, who looked exactly like him.

It wasn’t until the person walked up to him that An Yu found his voice, but he only said two words: “It’s me.”

Yu Zaishan looked him up and down: “Have you found a partner?” Feeling An Yu’s accusing gaze, he quickly smiled and explained: “I don’t mean it that way. I know I’m sorry to you. I’m doing very well now, and I hope you can do well too.”

An Yu kept his mouth shut and didn’t speak. Then he heard Yu Zaishan say: “I don’t mean to show off. It’s all my fault for messing with you and not being able to protect you all the time. I’m not asking you to forgive me. I just want you to know that I’m sorry.”

“You weren’t doing well back then either. Weren’t you so angry that you wanted to kill me?” Back then, An Yu had sent that pornographic video to everyone they both knew, as well as all his relatives, friends, and business partners. It had brought him a disastrous setback. He was in the rising period of his career, but he had fallen to the bottom all at once. He also had to face questions and contempt from relatives and friends. An Yu admired Yu Zaishan’s ability to get back on his feet.

Yu Zaishan smiled: “I was young, and I didn’t know the importance of things. It’s also my fault for not being honest with you.”

A car stopped next to the two of them. An Yu walked forward and knocked on the car window. The car window rolled down, revealing Lu Qinyuan’s face. An Yu said to Yu Zaishan: “This is my boyfriend, a gangster boss.”

Yu Zaishan couldn’t help but laugh: “You really found a gangster. I thought you were joking.”

An Yu’s mood had changed at this time. Facing Yu Zaishan, he no longer had that unforgivable anger. He said easily: “I’m doing very well too. Don’t worry.”

After saying that, he waved his hand and got into the car.

Lu Qinyuan started the car and glanced at him: “Was what you said just now true?”

“I thought about it. I can’t just let you sleep with me for nothing,” An Yu said half-jokingly.

They were a match made in heaven because they had once had the most perfect love and would no longer demand harsh perfection from each other, so their relationship wouldn’t suffocate.

Companionship is the longest confession, habit is the most fatal reliance, and time is the test of whether love exists.

Who knows if the future will be good? Whether it’s good or not, it’s always good to have a companion.

The author has something to say:

That’s the end. I wanted to drag it out for a few more chapters, but I realized there’s nothing much to write. Instead of writing dragging plots, I’d rather end it. Any unclear explanations in the main text will be supplemented in the extra chapters.
