HR Chapter 40
by VolareBai Ze walked in front, followed by a crowd of people. He saw An Yu standing under the eaves at a glance, his footsteps slightly paused. Lu Qinyuan also saw him and beckoned An Yu to come over, but An Yu ignored him and turned to go into the house.
This person was no longer the one who would obediently come over with a wave of his hand, but Lu Qinyuan seemed to be used to that unconditional obedience, and he felt a little lost.
Bai Ze asked, “Who is that?”
Lu Qinyuan said, “An Yu.”
Walking into the house and sitting down, Bai Ze asked again, “Where’s Xiao Qi?”
Silence fell instantly. Lu Qinyuan said, “Xiao Qi is gone.”
Bai Ze didn’t show any surprise. Instead, he looked at Sha Tang and said, “Sweetie, I’m counting on you this time.”
The expression on Sha Tang’s face instantly twisted into an unsightly mess.
An Yu stood on the second floor holding the Chihuahua, looking down. The Chihuahua barked twice when it saw Lu Qinyuan, and everyone looked up at the second floor, only to see a figure disappearing. Then there was the sound of a door slamming shut.
Everyone exchanged glances.
Being discharged from the hospital was a joyous occasion, but not like a wedding or a funeral. The patient needed rest, and everyone stayed for a while before going about their business.
Lu Qinyuan was also very tired these past few days, so he stayed home to rest. Sha Tang didn’t know where he had gone. Lu Qinyuan thought he must have run off somewhere to wage a psychological war.
When it was time for dinner, Sha Tang automatically appeared, and then disappeared again after the meal.
Lu Qinyuan had a headache. “Why did you tease him like that?”
Bai Ze heard him but didn’t answer.
Lu Qinyuan stopped in front of the bedroom, wondering what it looked like inside. He pushed the door open and saw Sha Tang sitting on the edge of the bed wearing a bathrobe, his hair still dripping wet. Hearing the door open, he suddenly looked up, his eyes filled with fear and a resolute, death-defying air.
Lu Qinyuan stopped five steps away from the bed. He rubbed his forehead and said helplessly, “Sha Tang, I remember you’re straight. Don’t you mind?”
“Of course I mind. But what can I do? Xiao Bai said so, and I already agreed,” Sha Tang said, also finding it difficult.
Lu Qinyuan walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. Sha Tang immediately moved to the side. Lu Qinyuan felt powerless. “Xiao Bai’s words are like an imperial decree? He can just say anything?”
Sha Tang only repeated, “I promised, how can I go back on my word…”
Lu Qinyuan chuckled. “Fine, I’m in a bad mood today. I’ll fulfill your wish.”
He reached out and grabbed Sha Tang’s arm, pulling him towards himself. Sha Tang initially cried out, but then endured it all, his entire body as stiff as a log. Lu Qinyuan ignored that, took off his glasses and threw them aside, grabbed both of his wrists and pinned them above his head. He ran his free hand along the open bathrobe, feeling his chest and gently kneading a raised point a few times. He heard a cry of unbearable pain escape from between his lips and teeth. Lu Qinyuan stopped and looked at Sha Tang.
Sha Tang’s eyes were tightly closed, biting his lip, looking like he was suffering humiliation but also righteous and unafraid. Lu Qinyuan found him both infuriating and funny. Knowing that he wouldn’t move, he released his wrists and gently opened the bathrobe. Underneath the bathrobe was a muscular chest, rising and falling with rapid breaths.
Lu Qinyuan’s hand gently stroked it. With the slightest movement, the cry would grow louder. Lu Qinyuan admired the expression on Sha Tang’s face as he gradually moved his hand down, his fingers just touching the edge of his underwear. Sha Tang couldn’t take it anymore and shouted, “Bro! Brother!”
Sha Tang covered his eyes with his hand and cried aggrievedly.
Lu Qinyuan withdrew his hand and sat quietly on the side, listening to him cry. When he had cried enough, he asked, “You promised Xiao Bai, and now you’re going back on your word?”
Sha Tang cried as he said, “I’m straight, purely straight.” He reached out to feel for his glasses.
Lu Qinyuan reached out and took the glasses in his hand, saying with a hint of indifference, “I warned you, you said there was nothing you could do, you promised.”
Sha Tang was speechless, wiping his eyes with his hands. He was also trying his best to find his glasses. He was nearsighted and his vision was a blur without them.
Lu Qinyuan said, “Sha Tang, this is the last time. If you get into my bed again, I will definitely do you.”
Hearing this, Sha Tang immediately sat up, tightened his bathrobe, and reached out to Lu Qinyuan. “Bro, my glasses.”
Instantly, the rain cleared up. Tears hung in the corners of his eyes and he still had a smile on his face. Lu Qinyuan opened the glasses and put them on his face, warning, “I’m not joking with you, next time I won’t be so easy to talk to.”
Sha Tang sniffled. “There will definitely not be a next time.” He scurried away.
Lu Qinyuan couldn’t help but smile, thinking about whether he should send Sha Tang out to gain some experience.
When Lu Qinyuan was young, his family had arranged a betrothal for him. Originally, everything was fine, but the Min Chu incident was a bit too much. The girl had been abroad and hadn’t received the news. When she returned the following spring, she came to his door and demanded an explanation.
Lu Qinyuan said, “Explanation? As you know, I like men.”
That girl wasn’t one to play by the rules either. After listening to his explanation, she was silent for a while, then took out her phone and made a call. A moment later, an eleven- or twelve-year-old boy appeared in their private room, wearing gold-rimmed glasses on his small nose. The girl grabbed the little boy and asked him, “How does my brother look?”
Lu Qinyuan was puzzled. He thought the little boy looked quite handsome, so he nodded. “Not bad.”
The girl asked again, “Is he good enough to be your wife?”
Lu Qinyuan directly refused. “Not good enough.”
The girl also considered it seriously, nodding. “Yes, he’s a bit young. It’ll be better in another three to five years. It’s not too late to start cultivating him now. To capture a man’s heart, you have to capture his stomach. Sweetie, from now on, you’ll be a chef, guaranteed to capture the man’s stomach firmly.”
Lu Qinyuan didn’t take it seriously. Who knew that after three years, the girl really ran away with someone, or rather, she ran away with her classmate Fang Yiran, and she even took Fang Yiran abroad. Lu Qinyuan was angry when Sha Tang came to his door.
Sha Tang had grown into a young boy, a little gentleman who neatly folded his hands in front of him. When he saw Lu Qinyuan, he asked, “Hello, are you Lu Qinyuan?”
Lu Qinyuan looked at him coldly. “What do you want?”
“My sister told me to come find you, saying it was agreed upon many years ago.” Sha Tang showed Lu Qinyuan a note written by his sister. The note seemed to have been written a long time ago, wrinkled and barely legible, very short, just four words: Returning your wife.
Lu Qinyuan touched Sha Tang’s head and was moved by the quirky sister. He asked, “What else did your sister say?”
Sha Tang recalled as he said, “My sister said, let me follow you, um, don’t let the good water flow to outsiders.”
Lu Qinyuan really wanted to turn Sha Tang into his own field at the time. Coincidentally, Bai Ze ran into them, and Bai Ze said, “He’s young and doesn’t understand anything yet. Don’t ruin him.” He also made an agreement with Sha Tang: “I’ll stop you this time, but if you need to go up one day, you can’t go back on your word.”
Sha Tang agreed. “Okay.”
Who knew that Sha Tang was a straight man through and through. Lu Qinyuan was just acting on impulse at the time. Later, he simply kept him by his side to cook. In the following years, Sha Tang knew how absurd the agreement he had made when he was young was, and he struggled for a while, but slowly he let it go. But he never expected that Bai Ze still remembered that agreement, and Sha Tang was actually willing to fulfill that agreement.
He wasn’t sleepy originally, but after being disturbed by Sha Tang, he was completely awake. Lu Qinyuan held a book in his hand, but couldn’t focus on a single word for a long time. A thought suddenly emerged very strongly, so strongly that it startled him. Lu Qinyuan put down the book in his hand, calmed the derailing heart and walked out of the bedroom.
The dim light of the kitchen revealed a bit of tranquility in the night. Lu Qinyuan approached silently on the thick carpet and smiled when he saw the figure. “Doll.”
“Ah!” An Yu was frightened and screamed. He held the Chihuahua in one hand and a water glass in the other, but most of the water in the glass had been spilled, almost all over him. Seeing who it was, An Yu couldn’t help but angrily say, “What! Trying to scare people in the middle of the night! And don’t call me Doll!” The Chihuahua in his arms whimpered and kicked its four small legs. He ignored it and continued to pour water. The sound of water flowing in the empty night was very clear.
Lu Qinyuan passed him and went to the dining room. He casually took a bottle of red wine and two wine glasses from the wine cabinet and sat down at the table. When An Yu passed by with the Chihuahua, he stopped him. “Doll, come have a drink.”
“Don’t call me Doll!” The words were almost ground out from between his teeth one by one. An Yu seemed to still be frightened, his face pale. He rubbed the Chihuahua almost abusively, making the Chihuahua whine repeatedly. It was always half a step away from his side, seemingly very important but also not as important as he imagined, which was truly curious.
Although he was curious, Lu Qinyuan didn’t ask. He just kept drinking, filling An Yu’s glass as soon as it was empty. An Yu sneered. “You want to get me drunk? Let me tell you, I can drink a thousand cups without getting drunk!” He finished the wine in his glass in one gulp and slammed it heavily on the table. “Fill it up!” His voice already had a bit of a drunken slur.
Lu Qinyuan poured him a thin layer. An Yu glared at him dissatisfied. “Stingy!” He snatched the wine bottle and poured a full glass, looking at it with dissatisfaction. He carefully added a little more until the glass was about to overflow before putting down the wine bottle. He raised his glass to Lu Qinyuan, tilted his head back and drained it in one gulp. After drinking, he emptied the wine glass to show Lu Qinyuan and raised his eyebrows.
Lu Qinyuan raised his glass, slowly tasting the red wine in his hand. Before he could ask anything, An Yu was already mumbling. His mumbling was different from others. He spoke clearly, logically, with clear eyes and a normal expression. If you didn’t know that he had drunk too much red wine, you wouldn’t see any signs of drunkenness.
“Loving a person is not as good as loving a dog, a dog is more loyal than a person.” This was the opening remark. An Yu sighed slightly, his tone not very sad, mostly helpless. He said, “We were childhood sweethearts, we liked each other, which is very rare. I didn’t force him, didn’t ask him for anything, didn’t make unreasonable demands. We were like an old married couple, I thought we would grow old together like an old married couple. Maybe we were too smooth in love, it came too easily, he gradually became dissatisfied with a plain life, he began to lie, began to pursue excitement.” An Yu’s hand on the Chihuahua paused, his voice suddenly becoming lighter. “On our twenty-second anniversary, I prepared a surprise for him, but he gave me a big surprise.”
