Chapter Index

    ‘…Ha.’

Before long, dawn was breaking outside the window.

Through the dim morning mist, the iridescent morning sunlight flickered, illuminating the corner of the bedroom.

    ‘Haha.’

Suddenly, it felt meaningless to struggle and worry.

If Kwon Jae-jin said he would go, Seo Eui-woo was the kind of guy who would follow him even if it were a fiery pit. He had known that from the beginning. So why had he been dragging things out?

    [I understand.]

Kwon Jae-jin put strength into his fingers and carefully typed a message on the tablet, one letter at a time. The moment the words, filled with meaning, formed a sentence on the screen, he felt overwhelmed, almost too much to bear.

The deepest part of his chest was pounding fiercely, uncontrollably.

He wanted to calm down and tried to hold his breath for a moment, but he couldn’t. Jae-jin, a little pathetically panting, checked the sentence he had written.

[It’s going to be difficult to leave right away. Let’s go in the spring. Let’s prepare thoroughly until then.]

There would be a lot to prepare. He had to make plans, conduct thorough preliminary investigations, learn about farming and animal husbandry, and pack his bags, selecting items that wouldn’t be easily tracked…

After reading the message over and over three or four times, Kwon Jae-jin belatedly added a line.

[And Seo Eui-woo, please take a long vacation and don’t go on any more missions.]

Seo Eui-woo’s languid voice, sunken eyes, and miserable expression vaguely flashed through his mind.

If he kept acting so affectionately, wouldn’t he have no choice but to accept him? Kwon Jae-jin didn’t want to force Seo Eui-woo into a life-or-death situation either. It was a vacation that the country had set aside in the first place. He was just using the vacation he was entitled to, so there shouldn’t be any particular problem. Even if there was a problem, it was okay now. They would be leaving soon anyway.

    Kwon Jae-jin sent the message.

He waited for a reply with a slightly nervous heart. In less than a few seconds, he received a flurry of excited replies from Seo Eui-woo, and Jae-jin’s eyes slowly softened.

So this was what it felt like to envision the future, especially to envision the same future together with Seo Eui-woo. He hadn’t slept a wink, but it felt like he had woken up from a good night’s rest. It felt like he was finally living a new life.

    *

That day, Seo Eui-woo immediately submitted a request for a long vacation and went home. This meant that the crisis, which could have led to Espers piling up a mountain of corpses and dying en masse if Kwon Jae-jin had made a slightly different decision, had been safely averted. Major Ma Tae-o and Lieutenant Colonel Jang Tae-san, they would never know in their wildest dreams that the Mutant they were trying to capture and kill was actually the savior who had saved their lives.

    “Jae-jin-ssi!”

Seo Eui-woo, radiating a bright light, appeared and looked for Kwon Jae-jin with a broad smile. He was so eager that as soon as he came out of the Sterile Transfer Room, he threw the rifle he was holding to the floor and whipped off the Goggles he was wearing.

Just then, Kwon Jae-jin was in the second-floor study, using his tablet to search for “types of vegetables that are easy to grow even for beginners.”

Seo Eui-woo, sensing the Resonance of their Cores, headed straight for the study. He strode in with his tall frame, looking almost threatening, but his face was anything but. His already handsome face was now so captivating that it seemed as if it could enchant the whole world.

His sculpted eyes, as if made from a mold, curved beautifully, and his flawless, sharp cheeks were flushed with Seo Eui-woo’s signature color. It was the return of the perfectly handsome Seo Eui-woo after a long time. And his refreshing lips were smiling so happily. His deeply dimpled mouth was sensual, and the dimples on his cheeks made one want to touch them without thinking.

Jae-jin turned off the tablet screen and asked.

    “Did you apply for vacation?”

    “Yes, I did everything.”

    “There weren’t any particular problems?”

“Lieutenant Colonel Jang was a bit unhappy, but, well, whatever. I defied him and shook it off.”

    “Defied?”

“It’s okay. It’s in the past.”

Seo Eui-woo immediately wrapped his arms around Kwon Jae-jin’s waist and clung to him. His momentum was so strong that Jae-jin’s back slammed against the mahogany bookshelf with a thud.

    “Ugh.”

Seo Eui-woo didn’t wait even a moment and pressed Kwon Jae-jin.

“Jae-jin-ssi, are we really dating now?”

    “…Yes, let’s do that.”

“And we’re leaving in the spring?”

“Yes, it’s too cold right now.”

    “Hahaha! Good.”

Kwon Jae-jin looked at Seo Eui-woo, who was laughing with joy, and swallowed many words in his heart. In the worst-case scenario, they might have to build their own house from scratch. With Seo Eui-woo’s ability, leveling the ground and logging wouldn’t be difficult, but the design itself would require knowledge and skill.

In many ways, it was daunting, but still… for now, he wanted to be happy like Seo Eui-woo. Wouldn’t it be enough to think about the future later? And well, if he looked into it carefully, there might be a way to acquire a new identity. There might be a way to embezzle money as well.

    “Ha… Eui-woo-ya.”

Jae-jin called out as he placed his hand on Seo Eui-woo’s profile. He didn’t know how Seo Eui-woo could be so handsome even in his ears. He touched his earlobe and casually asked.

“You… you, do you like me that much…?”

A sweet, tender answer was heard.

    “Yes. I like you.”

“You don’t even know what dating is, but you want to date me that much?”

    “Yes… Please.”

“…Won’t you regret it later? Is it really enough just to have me?”

    “Can’t you tell by looking?”

“Whether I know or not. Tell me.”

Seo Eui-woo tilted his head and rubbed his head against Jae-jin’s palm that touched his ear. His youthful face was melting sweetly.

“You know, I really like it when Jae-jin-ssi speaks informally to me.”

    “What?”

“It’s even better when you call me Eui-woo-ya.”

    “…”

“No one calls me that. Only Jae-jin-ssi does.”

Seo Eui-woo’s gray eyes, which he had always seen, looked like glass beads today. They weren’t cold, or filled with killing intent, or shiny, they just looked pretty.

“I think Jae-jin-ssi is my everything. It can’t be anything else.”

    “…”

“I only think about Jae-jin-ssi, I only worry about Jae-jin-ssi, I always only care about Jae-jin-ssi… I’m entirely made up of Jae-jin-ssi, isn’t that obvious?”

Eventually, Seo Eui-woo let out a chuckling sound. He was so happy that his laughter leaked out.

“Ah, I don’t know how fortunate I am that Jae-jin-ssi likes me. That Jae-jin-ssi is dating me… If that weren’t the case, I don’t know what I would have done.”

“What would you have done, what did you do…”

“Well, I would have just killed everyone. Or I would have dragged Jae-jin-ssi along and left by force… I’m so glad that didn’t happen. Thank you.”

    “Huh…”

“I sincerely appreciate it. For not driving me too crazy, but just a little crazy. I really like you, Jae-jin-ssi.”

He didn’t know what kind of bizarre confession this was.

Kwon Jae-jin laughed, making a sound like air escaping. Even though Seo Eui-woo was saying precarious things, he didn’t feel uneasy at all; instead, he strangely found it cute. This was a problem too.

“Yes, okay, Seo Eui-woo-ssi… I like Seo Eui-woo-ssi too.”

    “Say Eui-woo-ya.”

    “…Uh, Eui-woo-ya. I like you too.”

“Then, is Jae-jin-ssi the same as me? Do you only need me, am I your everything?”

    “That’s…”

Having this kind of explicit and embarrassing conversation… Having a conversation that only children would have. Even elementary school students these days probably wouldn’t confess so childishly.

“Why? Is it not? Am I not like that for you?”

“Well, it’s not like I can say it’s definitely not…”

    “Huh? What is it?”

    “I find Seo Eui-woo-ssi cute.”

    “I’m cute? That’s strange… Jae-jin-ssi is the cute one.”

“In many ways, Seo Eui-woo-ssi is cute. Not me.”

As Jae-jin was speaking, Seo Eui-woo, as if he couldn’t bear to wait even that short amount of time, pressed his lips down. Kwon Jae-jin continued to speak with inaccurate pronunciation as his lips were pressed and released.

“Seo Eui-woo-ssi, your age is, umph, young… You don’t even know how to hide your feelings, oop, and you only make things difficult for adults…”

“Haha, who’s the adult here. Kwon Jae-jin-ssi is my baby.”

    “Yes, so, that’s exactly what’s difficult… eupp.”

Ah, that damn baby talk. He was sick of it. He felt like he was being brainwashed. He wondered what would happen if he fell under that spell too, just like he was under the see-you spell. He had to keep his wits about him.

Seo Eui-woo started licking and pressing his lips together, and there was no time to say anything more. Kwon Jae-jin fiddled with his ear and responded to the kiss. Seo Eui-woo wiggled his Adam’s apple and played with his tongue, as if ticklish. He licked his lower lip generously and then dug into the inside of his mouth, intertwining and sucking their tongues.

Seo Eui-woo indulged in Kwon Jae-jin’s tongue as if it were a sweet candy. Every time he rubbed the root of his tongue, a nasal sound leaked out, and Seo Eui-woo seemed to want to hear that sound more, so he relentlessly acted as if he wouldn’t even let him breathe.

    “Huu…”

    “Um, eu…”

Seo Eui-woo kissed him until Jae-jin’s eyes glazed over. He felt a heavy weight on his lower body. His thick cock formed a clear shape inside his pants. Even though Seo Eui-woo was erect, he was first and foremost focused on kissing.

Sucking on the sticky saliva, Seo Eui-woo whispered.

    “Jae-jin-ssi… Hurry.”
