    Chapter 47: Revealing Affection

“Qin Yuanging, didn’t you say you’d send me a bouquet of flowers every month?”

When Li Chongge said this to Qin Yuanging, his tone wasn’t accusatory. It was more of a reminder, tinged with the expectation that Qin Yuanging might break his word, but also with a generous willingness to overlook it and not criticize him.

Qin Yuanging wasn’t stingy with a bouquet of flowers. It was just that sending flowers also required a certain status.

He didn’t think he had that status, but since Li Chongge liked it, he would naturally fulfill it.

Qin Yuanging entered the house, holding up his phone, and asked Li Chongge,

“How about bellflowers? Would you like them?”

“Did you have the previous flowers delivered as well?”

Of course not. Every flower belonging to Li Chongge was personally selected by Qin Yuanging.

But today, the green daisies that Qin Yuanging most wanted to send, he didn’t dare to offer. So he lost the mood to carefully select.

Qin Yuanging knew this wasn’t fair to Li Chongge, but occasionally, Qin Yuanging would slacken due to frustration.

“Then I’ll go downstairs and buy them for you?”

Unexpectedly, Li Chongge didn’t say any of the understanding pleasantries like, “No need,” or “Maybe next time.” Instead, he directly handed Qin Yuanging the coat he had just hung up.

    Qin Yuanging: “…”

    “Oh, and your cardholder.”

Qin Yuanging took out the brown leather cardholder from his pocket, handed it to Li Chongge, and then turned to leave.

Li Chongge knew without looking that the photo would no longer be inside.

Qin Yuanging could be quite mischievous sometimes.

Qin Yuanging lingered in the flower shop for a long time, finally choosing a small sprig of green daisies tucked among all sorts of vibrant flowers.

Set against the backdrop of brilliant and passionate blooms, it appeared so small and plain, unlikely to attract anyone’s attention.

Qin Yuanging thought that such an unremarkable little daisy might even be mistaken for an insignificant green leaf by Li Chongge and thrown away directly.

Returning to Li Chongge’s residence, two beautiful vases stood quietly on the dining table.

“Give them to me, I’ll arrange them.”

Li Chongge took the flowers with one hand and handed Qin Yuanging the cardholder he had just given him with the other.

“Could you put this cardholder in the study for me, please?”

Qin Yuanging didn’t notice the stiffness in Li Chongge’s outstretched hand. He was just puzzled why Li Chongge wanted him to go when he could have gone himself.

It wasn’t that Qin Yuanging was unwilling to do it. It was just that he felt Li Chongge’s study should contain many important documents and files, and he shouldn’t enter it casually.

But Li Chongge’s outstretched hand remained, unretracted.

“Where in the study should I put it?”

“Just on the desk is fine.”

Qin Yuanging had actually been in Li Chongge’s study before, but this was the first time he had entered it alone.

Li Chongge never pursued luxury or extravagance. His study was simple and elegant in its layout. As soon as Qin Yuanging entered, he saw a photo album on the desk, with a small box beside it.

    Very conspicuous and abrupt.

Politeness and upbringing told him that he shouldn’t casually touch Li Chongge’s things, but instinct told him that Li Chongge had deliberately let him in, and had deliberately let him see this photo album and the box.

Qin Yuanging thought, was the photo in the cardholder originally kept in this photo album?

His fingertip slowly traced the cover of the album, and after a difficult struggle, he finally opened it.

The photos were roughly arranged in chronological order, from front to back. The missing first page was as Qin Yuanging had expected.

He took the photo he had previously removed from the cardholder and placed it in the album.

At this moment, the timeline of this photo album finally became complete.

Beginning with youthful exuberance, ending with dejected gloom.

This photo album recorded Qin Yuanging’s entire youth, from fifteen to twenty-seven years old.

The end of the album was filled with photos of Qin Yuanging in Canada.

In the green fields, beneath the blooming flowers, amidst the snow-covered landscape.

From windbreakers to T-shirts to wool coats.

The seasons changed, but the subject of the lens was always him.

This meant that Li Chongge had gone to see him many times, but had never considered showing himself.

Li Chongge had hidden so well that Qin Yuanging had never known that the person he missed to the extreme, in a distant country, perhaps on some morning or evening, had brushed past him.

At this moment, Qin Yuanging no longer needed to probe or guess. The answer he wanted was about to be revealed.

And in the box next to the album were two kraft paper file folders, one labeled “26” and the other labeled “27.”

Qin Yuanging clearly remembered that when Li Chongge had previously handed him the property deed for the 21st floor, the file folder, identical to these two, had been marked with a “25.”

Li Chongge had said that it was his 25th birthday gift, so were these two in front of him his 26th and 27th birthday gifts respectively?

Qin Yuanging didn’t open them. He wanted Li Chongge to hand them to him personally.

He didn’t know when, but Li Chongge was already standing in front of the door, his tall frame tense, the fists hidden behind his back clenched tightly, showing how nervous he was at this moment.

“Qin Yuanging, do you think I’m disgusting?”

He had originally wanted to go directly to Jiang Muyuan and find out from her whether the person fortunate enough to be loved by Qin Yuanging was actually Li Chongge.

But Qin Yuanging’s love shouldn’t be learned from someone else’s mouth.

On this very ordinary night, without any warning, Li Chongge chose to reveal to Qin Yuanging the emotions he had buried for many years.

Okay, if Qin Yuanging wouldn’t say it, he would.

Tonight, Li Chongge was gambling with all his life’s luck, hoping only that Qin Yuanging’s love could descend upon him.

“I don’t think so.” Qin Yuanging closed the album, wanting to put on a more relaxed expression, but no matter how he tried to hide it, his eyes couldn’t help but sting.

Faced with Li Chongge’s such magnificent and restrained feelings, Qin Yuanging felt ashamed of himself.

At this moment, he had the happiness of getting what he wanted, and also had heartache and guilt for Li Chongge.

These short three words were like Li Chongge’s get-out-of-jail-free card. The nerves and body that had been so tense could finally breathe.

    But it wasn’t over yet.

Li Chongge took a step forward, and Qin Yuanging went directly to him.

“Li Chongge, when you were arranging the flowers just now, did you see a small sprig of green daisies?”

    “Yes.”

It was the smallest and most inconspicuous, but it just so happened that Li Chongge’s favorite flower was it.

“Do you know what the flower language of green daisies is?”

Li Chongge shook his head. He had no knowledge of flowers.

    “Love hidden in the heart.”

Qin Yuanging looked into Li Chongge’s eyes without blinking, and said with sincerity, “Li Chongge, I wanted to give it to you a long time ago, but even today, I only dare to secretly give you a small sprig.”

Li Chongge stretched out his hand, and a green daisy was quietly lying in his palm.

Wei Ji Chan taught Qin Yuanging that love can be spoken out loud.

Li Chongge only needed to take one step, and Qin Yuanging would walk the remaining ninety-nine steps toward him.

“I like you, Li Chongge, what about you?”
