Chapter 25: No One But Him Will Do

Qin Yuanging descended the stairs with a listless expression, discovering that few people were awake. Only Sun Qihao, the host, was holding a menu, confirming the dishes for lunch with the chef.

“Yo, Miss Qin is up early?”

Qin Yuanging sighed, throwing himself onto the sofa.

“Sometimes, I really want to sew that mouth of yours shut.”

Sun Qihao handed the menu to the chef and sat down opposite him, noticing Qin Yuanging’s dispirited look. He didn’t tease him further.

“What’s wrong? Didn’t sleep well, or are you feeling unwell from drinking last night? I didn’t see you drink much last night, did you?”

“A bit of both, I guess. Do you serve breakfast here?”

Sun Qihao glared at him, annoyed. “Yes, but you’re up too early. It’s not ready yet. If your stomach feels uncomfortable, should I have them bring you a bowl of plain porridge first?”

    Qin Yuanging massaged his temples.

“Bring two bowls. I’ll take one up to Li Chongge too.”

Sun Qihao spun the lighter in his hand, looking at Qin Yuanging hesitantly.

“A’Yuan, aren’t you being too good to Li Chongge?”

    Qin Yuanging’s fingers paused.

    “Am I?”

    “Yes,” Sun Qihao said definitively.

“Perhaps. Li Chongge is worth being good to.”

Hearing this, Sun Qihao felt a little uncomfortable. In his eyes, he was the one who grew up with Qin Yuanging, but Qin Yuanging had become closer to Li Chongge later on.

And now he was saying such things to provoke him.

But it was precisely this shared history that allowed Sun Qihao to keenly sense something.

Originally, he didn’t understand, but when Zhang Chunyuo led Tang Jingxuan past him, he suddenly understood.

    Qin Yuanging was acting strangely.

Therefore, Sun Qihao led Qin Yuanging to the poolside, subtly reminding him: “I don’t know what you learned in Canada these past two years, but you also have to consider the person you are with. Some people… are not for you to fantasize about.”

Qin Yuanging felt like he had seen a ghost. How could his thoughts be so exposed on this trip?

Was his affection for Li Chongge so obviously written all over his face?

Yesterday it was Tang Jingxuan, today it was Sun Qihao, who would it be tomorrow?

Deng Weien? No, he wasn’t that smart.

“Don’t take it the wrong way, I’m doing this for your own good. Anyone is fine, but it can’t be him, do you understand?”

Qin Yuanging needed to confide in someone. He didn’t deny it.

Jiang Muyuan already knew about it, and she would be happy to encourage him to confess.

But fortunately, Sun Qihao shared the same opinion as him. Qin Yuanging felt that Sun Qihao could probably help him dispel some unrealistic ideas.

Qin Yuanging’s rationality and resolve would instantly crumble when faced with Li Chongge’s gentleness and tolerance.

Sun Qihao didn’t expect Qin Yuanging to admit it so readily, without arguing or hesitating.

Speculation was one thing, but Qin Yuanging’s open confession was another. It took Sun Qihao a while to truly accept this fact.

    “Besides me, who else knows?”

“Originally, only Jiang Muyuan knew, but yesterday, Tang Jingxuan was added to the list.”

Sun Qihao could probably guess why Tang Jingxuan could see it.

Sun Qihao, like Qin Yuanging, didn’t think Tang Jingxuan was a threat; he couldn’t make any waves. Moreover, with Zhang Chunyuo’s methods, if he knew Tang Jingxuan dared to do anything to Qin Yuanging, he would be the first to not let him get away with it.

“No wonder you’ve been getting close to Jiang Muyuan since you came back. I really thought you liked her. I’d rather you liked her now.”

Sun Qihao didn’t feel good seeing Qin Yuanging so dispirited.

    “When did this start?”

Qin Yuanging shook his head. He didn’t know when his feelings for Li Chongge had changed, perhaps it was two years ago, or even longer.

    “Don’t know?”

“You suddenly ran away two years ago, was it because of this?”

    Qin Yuanging silently nodded.

Sun Qihao chuckled in anger and asked him, “Then what did you change in the past two years?”

Nothing. Qin Yuanging not only failed to let go, but he also realized more deeply that he simply couldn’t live without Li Chongge.

    “I matured.”

    Sun Qihao: “…”

“Don’t give me that nonsense. What are you going to do in the future? Just keep dragging this on with him?”

    “I don’t know.”

“You don’t know again? Tell me, what *do* you know?”

Qin Yuanging: “I know I need two bowls of porridge. Have them brought directly to my room.”

Qin Yuanging waved his hand, not wanting to say any more to Sun Qihao, and turned to leave.

Sun Qihao lit another cigarette, worried. What a mess!

When Qin Yuanging returned, Li Chongge had already changed his clothes and was looking at emails on the balcony.

Before that, he had received a call from Qiao Gongyu.

“I heard that you went on vacation with Xiao Yuan and Sun Qihao?”

    “Yes.”

Li Chongge stood on the balcony, smoking, his gaze on the open sea, but his heart was restless.

“You’ve… thought it through? Are you willing to let go?”

Li Chongge had been hiding it very well for years. No one could see through what he was thinking, but there were times when he couldn’t hide it.

Like the year Qin Yuanging left.

Qiao Gongyu had known Li Chongge for over twenty years and had never seen him so out of control.

The shattered glass, the bloodied back of his hand, all showed how much Qin Yuanging’s departure had affected him.

It was also at that time that Qiao Gongyu understood that Li Chongge’s feelings for Qin Yuanging had long surpassed the boundaries of friendship.

“I want to fight for myself once.”

Qiao Gongyu paused for a moment, but still advised Li Chongge: “I’m afraid you’ll regret it. If… I mean, if Xiao Yuan doesn’t accept it and gets scared away, won’t you go crazy?”

He had seen Li Chongge go crazy once, and it was terrifying.

“Jiang Muyuan said he likes men. I don’t know if it’s true, but I want to try.”

Jiang Muyuan had no reason to lie to him about such a thing, and she wouldn’t dare to.

Li Chongge felt that her words were still believable.

Or rather, Li Chongge was more willing to believe that what Jiang Muyuan said was the truth.

“Really?” Qiao Gongyu breathed a sigh of relief. “You’re really lucky.”

Li Chongge thought that if Qin Yuanging was willing to love him, *that* would be lucky.

Footsteps sounded outside the door. Li Chongge hung up the phone and asked the person entering, “Where did you go?”

“I went downstairs to chat with Sun Qihao. I asked him to send over some porridge, it’ll be here soon. You drank last night, does your stomach feel uncomfortable?”

Since Li Chongge had felt unwell recently, Qin Yuanging would unconsciously pay more attention to his diet.

Because they were going sea fishing this morning, the two didn’t linger in the room for long. After finishing the porridge, they went downstairs together.

Sun Qihao saw the two of them going downstairs side by side, suddenly remembering that they were staying in the same room, sleeping in the same bed…

He looked at Qin Yuanging with sympathy.

    Tsk, he really could endure.
