    Chapter 24: Thoughts Exposed

The atmosphere was lively that evening, and Qin Yuanging couldn’t help but join in, drinking an extra bottle of beer.

Many people came to toast Li Chongge, and he didn’t act aloof, drinking with almost all of them.

The night had fallen long ago when the lively dinner finally ended.

Back in the room, Qin Yuanging belatedly began to feel nervous.

Sleeping in the same bed with someone he liked, he felt he needed some self-control.

“I’ll go take a shower first.”

Li Chongge grabbed his pajamas and headed for the bathroom, glancing at Qin Yuanging, who was leaning on the sofa in a daze. Not knowing if he was drunk or sleepy, he turned back to pour him a glass of hot water and placed it within reach.

When Li Chongge leaned in, there was a faint smell of alcohol on him, mixed with his unique, deep, and steady woody fragrance, almost shattering Qin Yuanging’s reason on the spot.

Because in that instant, Qin Yuanging’s fingers twitched, almost reaching out to grab him.

As for what he wanted to do after grabbing him, Qin Yuanging didn’t know. Perhaps he just wanted a hug, perhaps he wanted to beg for a kiss, or perhaps he wanted something else…

Li Chongge went into the bathroom, and Qin Yuanging fled to the balcony. The sound of rushing water made him a little restless.

There was originally an ashtray on the round table on the balcony, but Li Chongge had moved it elsewhere. Now, it was neatly arranged with the cleaned seashells.

The seashells Qin Yuanging had given him.

By the time Qin Yuanging finished dawdling in the bathroom, Li Chongge was already lying in bed with his eyes closed.

Li Chongge had driven today, played all afternoon, and drank in the evening, so he must be tired.

Qin Yuanging turned off the lights, leaving only a bedside lamp on. Holding his breath, he tiptoed into bed from the other side. He tried for a long time before daring to lie down after his breathing finally returned to normal.

Qin Yuanging stiffened his body, trying to stay close to the edge of the bed to avoid accidentally touching Li Chongge’s body.

Because he was so nervous, he couldn’t fall asleep at all. Under the dim light of the bedside lamp, he stared at the ceiling, his mind wandering.

After an unknown amount of time, Li Chongge turned over, changing from lying flat to lying on his side, facing Qin Yuanging. Not only that, but he also moved closer to Qin Yuanging.

Warm breath brushed against Qin Yuanging’s cheek, and he instantly became like a frightened bird, his heart pounding wildly.

Unable to bear it any longer, Qin Yuanging got out of bed, grabbed the cigarettes and lighter he had left on the bedside table, and quietly left the room.

Qin Yuanging walked to the balcony on the second floor and stood there, the cool night breeze finally scattering his chaotic thoughts.

“Mr. Qin, you’re still not asleep?”

Qin Yuanging turned around to see Tang Jingxuan.

    “Came out for a smoke.”

Qin Yuanging didn’t want to interact with him too much. Firstly, his mind was really in a mess right now, secondly, the scene from the afternoon still made Qin Yuanging feel quite awkward, and thirdly, Qin Yuanging felt he shouldn’t be chatting with his friend’s lover late at night.

“Mr. Qin, are you in a bad mood?”

Tang Jingxuan not only didn’t leave tactfully, but instead walked directly to Qin Yuanging’s side and stood there, quite different from his polite and well-behaved image during the day.

Qin Yuanging frowned slightly in the darkness, but he couldn’t just walk away immediately, as that would be very impolite and hurtful.

“No, I just wanted to come out for a smoke,” Qin Yuanging repeated what he had just said.

Tang Jingxuan just smiled: “Is it because of Mr. Li?”

Qin Yuanging snuffed out his cigarette and chuckled softly, but the laughter contained a warning.

Tang Jingxuan knew that Qin Yuanging only seemed easy to get along with. He didn’t dare to provoke any of these people; he couldn’t afford to offend any of them.

But he still said, “Mr. Qin, I can see it, but I won’t tell anyone else. I won’t even tell Mr. Zhang.”

When Tang Jingxuan said this, his voice was very low, and he deliberately stood a little closer to Qin Yuanging.

Qin Yuanging’s tone turned completely cold: “Don’t be presumptuous.”

Qin Yuanging wasn’t flustered by being seen through; he had plenty of ways to make Tang Jingxuan shut up.

“Okay, I thought I could give Mr. Qin some advice, but it seems you don’t plan to do anything. I’m just being nosy.”

Qin Yuanging lit another cigarette, feeling even more annoyed.

Seeing that Tang Jingxuan still wasn’t leaving, he asked, “Want one?”

Tang Jingxuan shook his head, “Thank you, but no. Mr. Zhang doesn’t let me smoke.”

    “Why doesn’t he let you?”

Qin Yuanging didn’t think Zhang Zhaolin would have the leisure to care about such things.

    “Because we have to kiss.”

    Qin Yuanging: “…”

“Mr. Qin, I should go back now. Good night.”

Tang Jingxuan left, and Qin Yuanging’s ears were finally quiet.

How long Qin Yuanging had been out, Li Chongge had been standing on the stairs in the hallway.

He saw Qin Yuanging and Tang Jingxuan standing together.

    It was very jarring.

At this moment, Li Chongge finally realized that even if Qin Yuanging liked men, he would probably prefer skinny, fair-skinned young boys like Tang Jingxuan.

He vaguely remembered that the standard Qin Yuanging had set for his future partner when he was little was someone cute, dependent, and who loved to act spoiled.

Li Chongge felt that he didn’t possess any of these qualities.

When Qin Yuanging returned to the room, Li Chongge was still sleeping peacefully. Perhaps he felt hot in his sleep, as he had unbuttoned two buttons of his pajamas, revealing a large expanse of skin below his collarbone.

Qin Yuanging gritted his teeth, righteously closed his eyes, and pulled the blanket over his head, covering himself completely, keeping out of sight and out of mind.

Li Chongge opened his eyes in the dim light, looking at the bulging lump beside him, his gaze helpless and gentle.

He murmured in his heart, “Qin Yuanging, tell me, what should I do?”

Qin Yuanging didn’t sleep well all night, and a series of dreams messed up his mind.

Especially the dream where Li Chongge tenderly called him “baby,” which really made him… excited.

When he woke up completely, it was still very early.

Originally, Qin Yuanging wanted to get up early and get away from this “place of temptation,” but when he opened his eyes, he realized that he and Li Chongge were lying face to face, and his hand was even disrespectfully placed on Li Chongge’s waist!

Qin Yuanging screamed silently in his heart, carefully withdrew his hand, and cursed himself for being lustful.

Luckily, Li Chongge wasn’t awake yet, or how would he explain himself!

Feeling guilty, Qin Yuanging scrambled out of bed, tiptoed to his suitcase to take out a new set of clothes to change into, washed up as quickly as possible, and fled out the door.

As the door closed, Li Chongge finally opened his eyes and breathed a slight sigh.

He really didn’t have it easy this night.

Qin Yuanging was sleeping next to him, but he couldn’t do anything.

Fortunately, Qin Yuanging had gotten up early today, which was rare, or he really didn’t know how he would have been able to hide that obvious bulge from him later.

Li Chongge pressed his fist against his forehead, the warmth Qin Yuanging had left on him hadn’t completely dissipated.

In the end, he took a bath towel and resigned himself to going into the bathroom.

He had been suppressing himself for too long.
