WSIDIILMBOCIR Chapter 8
by VolareChapter 8: Obvious Intentions
Because it was a weekday afternoon, the mall was lively but not crowded. Qin Yuanging, thinking that he hadn’t had time to bring Yu Keci any gifts since returning to the country, went to choose a ruby bracelet for her.
The three-row design with a bow-knot diamond clasp was both retro and romantic, very suitable for Yu Keci.
After buying the gift, Qin Yuanging didn’t wander around aimlessly. He found a cafe and sat down for a rest.
He opened his phone and realized that Li Chongge had sent him a message twenty minutes ago.
“How’s the shopping going?”
Qin Yuanging quickly replied, “Bought a small gift, sitting in a cafe right now.”
Li Chongge replied very quickly, “I’ll be about half an hour.”
Qin Yuanging put down his coffee and picked up his phone again, slightly surprised by Li Chongge’s quick reply.
“Okay, I got it. You don’t have to pick me up later, I’ll go to the Hanshang building and wait for you myself.”
Qin Yuanging opened the map, Hanshang was only a fifteen-minute walk from the mall.
After finishing his coffee, he slowly walked over.
In the early summer weather, it was comfortable and pleasant. Qin Yuanging’s eyes scanned the busy or leisurely passers-by, and the nerves that had been strained by loneliness and busyness in Canada finally relaxed.
Li Chongge came out of the elevator surrounded by a group of people.
“Mr. Li, are you going directly to the parking lot?”
The woman’s tone rose slightly at the end, with a hint of deliberate flattery and coquettishness.
A light gray sweatshirt and blue jeans made her look energetic, sweet and pretty, but out of place in this building.
Clumsy methods, obvious intentions.
Li Chongge rarely looked at her, pretending not to hear her question, and went straight out of the Hanshang gate.
Qiao Gongyu answered a phone call and came back to find a group of people blocked at the elevator entrance, looking at each other.
Following their gazes, he saw Li Chongge walking steadily outside, and then he saw Qin Yuanging standing under a tree, looking down at his phone.
“Wait a moment, we’re waiting for someone to go down together.”
Qiao Gongyu spoke to explain for Li Chongge.
Su Lirui, that old guy, was going a bit too far, talking about cooperation, but sending his daughter over.
He didn’t even bother to hide it.
Otherwise, Su Yaoyue wouldn’t be dressed like this.
Perhaps in his opinion, Li Chongge was used to seeing sexy and glamorous types, and someone like Su Yaoyue, who took the pure and natural route, would be more appealing to him?
Such unreasonable speculation was really rude and undignified, no wonder Li Chongge, who usually had a good temper, couldn’t stand it.
Su Lirui and his daughter’s actions were simply asking for trouble.
Qin Yuanging followed Li Chongge into Hanshang, greeted Qiao Gongyu very naturally, and politely nodded to Su Yaoyue.
The group followed Li Chongge to the garage, and only after Qiao Gongyu and Li Chongge got into their respective cars did they watch them leave.
Just before Li Chongge got into the car, Su Yaoyue bent her eyes and said crisply to him, “See you later, Mr. Li.”
She would also be at the dinner tonight.
Qin Yuanging got into the car first, expressionlessly fastened his seat belt, and ruthlessly suppressed the emotions that had just surfaced.
This young lady was not an isolated case. Li Chongge was never short of women who admired him.
There were those like Jiang Muyuan who confessed boldly and bravely pursued love, there were those like Su Yaoyue who thought they were subtly playing clever tricks, but were actually blatantly obvious, and there were those like Qin Yuanging who hid it in their hearts and didn’t dare to reveal it at all.
In short… a riot of color, a hundred flowers blooming.
Someone like Li Chongge could never lack people who liked him.
Qin Yuanging was just one of them, even belonging to the most unpresentable category, he didn’t even have the right to comment.
Before getting into the car, Li Chongge saw the two bags neatly placed in the back seat.
One bag contained the cake brought for Jiang Muyuan, and the logo on the other bag told Li Chongge that it should contain jewelry for a certain lady.
This was the small gift Qin Yuanging mentioned in his message just now.
But Qin Yuanging didn’t have many female friends, Jiang Muyuan was the only one.
“The journey ahead is a bit far, it will take more than an hour. If you’re tired, take a nap.”
“Gao Zhida is already on his way.”
In fact, the person who was really tired should be Li Chongge, he was the one driving and the one using his brain to deal with people.
As for Qin Yuanging, he just took a ride, ate a meal, and strolled around the mall…
“No need, I’m not tired. Are you tired? I’ll drive for a while?”
“Not tired, you rest.”
Qin Yuanging felt that he couldn’t help Li Chongge much, so he could only try to keep quiet and not let him worry anymore.
Dinner was harmonious, no dramatic scenes occurred. Su Yaoyue just sat aside with a smile the whole time, without forcing herself to get close.
As for Gao Zhida, he also gave Li Chongge face, and his attitude towards Qin Yuanging was good. He even took the initiative to offer Qin Yuanging a toast.
But it was tea instead of wine.
Qin Yuanging didn’t refuse, and returned the toast with apple juice in his glass.
It was only eight o’clock after dinner, Su Lirui naturally had other arrangements, but Li Chongge refused.
He never liked to spend too much time on socializing.
At his level, whether or not cooperation could be achieved depended more on the strength of the other company itself, and not on how much wine the people negotiating the cooperation drank or how many polite words they said.
What’s more, Kewei never lacked collaborators.
If you are not willing, many people are willing.
Li Chongge had the confidence to refuse any occasion he didn’t want to participate in.
Qiao Gongyu originally wanted to leave with them, but Li Chongge left him behind with a “I’ll leave it to you.”
On this side, Qin Yuanging nodded apologetically to Gao Zhida, picked up his coat and followed Li Chongge.
“Is it okay to leave Yu ge alone?”
Qin Yuanging was a little worried that Qiao Gongyu couldn’t handle it alone.
Li Chongge didn’t have this worry. Qiao Gongyu was a fox at the negotiating table, good at using a carefree appearance to hide his inner shrewdness, and it was not a problem to go back and forth with the scheming Su Lirui.
“Worried about him?”
There’s no need.
“It’s okay, I’m just afraid he’ll be forced to drink. How are you getting back? Where’s the person driving for you?”
Li Chongge took out his phone.
“I’ll have someone send you back first.”
Qin Yuanging saw Li Chongge holding his phone in one hand and raising the other to press his brow, a slight hint of fatigue showing on his face.
“Are you feeling unwell somewhere?”
“I came out after drinking and was hit by a cold wind, my head hurts a bit.”
Qin Yuanging got closer, hesitated, and then reached out to test his forehead with the back of his hand. He was slightly relieved after confirming that he didn’t have a fever.
“It’s still early, I’m not in a hurry. I’ll take you to your place first. Wait for me here, I just saw a pharmacy across the street, I’ll buy you some medicine.”
Li Chongge put away his phone and agreed, watching Qin Yuanging quickly shuttle through the bustling crowd, the orange streetlights casting a warm glow on him.
