IM Chapter 32
by VolareHowever, his first impression of Yan ZhuGui was quite good. He was a gentleman, polite, and amiable. Most importantly, he seemed much more upright.
The two of them ate outside because Shen ChiTai had to go to the cat cafe in the afternoon. Someone had made a reservation to visit the cafe at 3:30 PM. Coincidentally, Shang Jue had to go to the company because Shang Lü had temporarily assigned him some tasks.
After finishing the meal, the alpha dropped him off at the cafe and went to the company. He didn’t return home until almost seven o’clock. As soon as he entered the door, he started changing his shoes. Walking into the living room, he saw Shang Lü watching a tablet on the sofa, and next to him was a man he had only met recently, someone who shouldn’t be there.
Xu RuZhou’s legs were casually resting on Shang Lü’s lap, but the moment he saw Shang Jue, he glanced at Shang Lü’s reaction, then slowly lowered his legs. His posture became much more proper, but he still exuded an air of casualness and familiarity.
“Isn’t my brother back yet?” Shang Jue asked the man.
“He should be back by now,” Shang Lü looked outside. “It’s raining so heavily, he wouldn’t be stuck on the road avoiding the rain, would he?”
Shang Jue hesitated for only half a second before quickly turning around, grabbing the still-dripping umbrella hanging by the door, and hurriedly left.
Shen ChiTai was less than a hundred meters from home, hurrying home in the rain. The thick rain curtain blurred his vision. The omega saw a figure rushing towards him with an umbrella, and his heart warmed. He braved the rain and quickened his pace towards Shang Jue.
Shang Jue stopped in front of Shen ChiTai, frowning as he looked at the soaking wet person. His tone was unconsciously a little louder, “Are you stupid? It’s raining so hard, why didn’t you find shelter and just kept running home?”
Shen ChiTai smiled nonchalantly, raindrops sliding down his cheeks and dripping on the ground. “I’m already soaked anyway, I’ll have to change when I get back. I’m fine.”
“Stupid, it’s raining, why didn’t you avoid it?” Although Shang Jue’s tone was fierce, the concern in his words betrayed the alpha.
“Don’t be so fierce.” Shen ChiTai raised his eyebrows slightly, his voice clear and pleasant, with a hint of coquetry. “Really, I know, next time I’ll definitely find shelter first, okay?”
His gaze unintentionally fell on Shang Jue’s feet. “Why are you wearing slippers?”
“…” Shang Jue was slightly stunned, saying stiffly, “I was in a hurry, I forgot to change.”
Shen ChiTai’s gaze lingered for a few more seconds on the face that he deliberately turned aside, as if seeing through the alpha’s embarrassment. He then pursed his lips and chuckled softly.
“Go back and take a hot shower, don’t catch a cold.” He patted Shang Jue’s shoulder, deliberately skipping the topic to save the other person from embarrassment.
The two of them entered the door one after the other. Shang Jue was in the back, closing the umbrella. Shang Lü in the living room saw Shen ChiTai’s wet appearance first. Just as he was about to urge him to change his clothes, he saw Shang Jue walking in from behind Shen ChiTai, his shoulders also soaked.
“You two hurry up and change your clothes, what if you catch a cold.”
“I’ll go now.” Shen ChiTai turned around and was about to go upstairs when he noticed someone still lying lazily on the sofa. He tilted his head and looked at Shang Jue, “Who is this?”
“Uncle Xu,” Shang Jue said.
“Uncle Xu?” Shen ChiTai looked blank.
“Xu Chen’s father,” Shang Jue added.
“…” Shen ChiTai’s expression changed instantly, a complex emotion flashing quickly in his eyes. “Why is he here?”
“He said he drank too much at a social event, so Father had no choice but to bring him back.”
Shen ChiTai politely called out “Uncle Xu.” Xu RuZhou lifted his eyelids, lazily looked the person up and down, then propped up his head, and said softly, “Go change your clothes first, so your dad won’t worry.”
The omega nodded at him, turned around, and went upstairs.
As soon as Shen ChiTai entered the room, Shang Jue followed him in.
“Your room is next door, you’ve come to the wrong door.” A trace of alertness and panic appeared in Shen ChiTai’s eyes. This kid was up to no good again.
“Didn’t come to the wrong door.” A meaningful smile appeared on the corner of Shang Jue’s mouth as he walked straight towards Shen ChiTai.
Shen ChiTai subconsciously took a step back, his eyes involuntarily looking elsewhere. “You, you don’t mess around, I don’t want to do that kind of thing right now. Dad is still downstairs waiting for us to eat, Shang Jue, don’t… tonight, let’s talk about it at night, please, it’s really impossible right now…” He stuttered as he retreated, his face flushed red.
“What is elder brother talking about? I just wanted to borrow your hair dryer.” Shang Jue looked innocently at the omega’s flushed face, but a hint of slyness flashed in his eyes.
“…”
Shen ChiTai understood that this guy was definitely doing it on purpose, he was just too bad. The omega finally couldn’t help but glare at him fiercely, and quickly returned to the main topic, “How did Xu Chen’s father get to know father?” And they seemed to have a close relationship.
“I’m not too sure, it’s something from their generation, how would we know.” He wasn’t even born yet, and he didn’t want to know.
That’s right, Shen ChiTai thought for a while, then looked up at the person in front of him who hadn’t realized and taken the initiative to leave. He already said he wanted to take a shower, and this person was still deliberately staying here dragging things out.
“Aren’t you going to dry your hair? How long are you going to stay here?” He had already tried his best to be subtle.
Shang Jue leaned down to examine the omega’s face, a playful look flashing in his eyes, and said jokingly, “Is elder brother worried that I’ll break down the door and enter? Don’t be afraid, even if I really had this idea, I wouldn’t have the guts.”
Shen ChiTai: “…” In other words, he really had the idea, and maybe one day he would get the guts.
The omega was speechless, turned around and rummaged through the closet for a clean set of clothes to change into, and before going in, he turned his head back two steps to make sure he was safe before suddenly darting in with a “swoosh” and slamming the door shut.
Shang Jue stood outside the door, lazily holding his arms, the corners of his lips slightly raised in a subtle arc. In the bathroom, the warm yellow light outlined the omega’s vaguely visible body curves. The alpha leaned against the door and knocked on the bathroom door.
“Elder brother, do you need me to come in and help you scrub your back?” The enthusiastic person offered his love diligently.
The omega, who was applying foam, almost slipped on his feet. “No need, you go out quickly!”
The person outside the door pouted with a look of regret. “Okay, then I’ll go first.”
Shen ChiTai listened to the sound of footsteps moving further and further away, secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
He’s really getting out of hand.
When he came downstairs again, the omega had changed into a collared, milk-white long T-shirt, with a pair of loose shorts of the same color. When the family was sitting around the table eating, his face was still as red as if he had applied blush.
Throughout the meal, he was absent-minded, his eyes drifting elsewhere from time to time.
Seeing this, Shang Lü asked him worriedly, “ChiTai, have you caught a cold?”
Shen ChiTai quickly shook his head, forced a smile, and said, “I’m fine, maybe I ran too fast when I came back, my face is a little hot.”
Shang Jue looked at the person opposite him who was speaking seriously and obediently but was full of nonsense, and the muscles on his face trembled slightly involuntarily. Anyone with eyes could see that he was holding back a laugh. The alpha’s mouth twitched, and he finally managed to hold back.
Shen ChiTai kicked the alpha’s calf hard under the table.
Shang Jue grimaced in pain, and the smile on his face gradually subsided.
Xu RuZhou faintly lifted his eyelids and glanced in the direction of Shang Jue and the omega, chewing his food carefully, his Adam’s apple sliding slightly down, and leaning towards Shang Lü, “I want to eat braised pork.”
Shang Lü was stunned for two seconds, then put a piece of braised pork in his bowl with a normal expression.
Shen ChiTai and Shang Jue on the opposite side raised their heads in tacit understanding and looked at each other.
Xu RuZhou was eating happily, he didn’t have time to care about how others looked at him.
The omega leaned closer again, his shoulder almost touching Shang Lü’s arm. “I also want to eat shrimp that you peeled.”
Shen ChiTai looked in surprise at Shang Lü on the opposite side, who actually put down his bowl and put on gloves to peel shrimp for him.
Shang Jue was also a little surprised, but not too surprised.
In the end, both of them chose to remain silent. No one took the initiative to mention the matter at the dinner table afterwards.
Since the people involved didn’t say anything, it wasn’t good for them to ask.
Xu RuZhou left the next morning.
