IM Chapter 28
by VolareSeeing their strange reactions, Xu RuZhou and Shang Lü exchanged a look.
Neither Xu Chen nor Shang Jue looked at each other.
Xu RuZhou was visibly impatient.
“Alright, let’s talk about the collaboration next. It’s been a while, and we should sit down and catch up on our own,” the omega said.
Xu Chen: “Then I’ll head out first.”
“Go ahead,” Xu RuZhou responded casually, not looking at him.
Xu Chen’s expression changed slightly, but he didn’t say anything.
Shang Lü said to Shang Jue, “A Jue, you young people probably have things to talk about too, you go as well.”
“Okay,” Shang Jue replied languidly. The alpha, who had been standing crookedly, straightened up and walked out.
As soon as he stepped out of the meeting room, Xu Chen stopped Shang Jue. “Shang Jue! You did this on purpose, didn’t you?”
Shang Jue glanced at him coldly. “If you don’t want people to know, don’t do it. You dared to do it, so are you afraid of not being able to bear the consequences? I’m not wasting time with you here. My brother is still waiting for me,” the alpha said, about to walk past him.
“Shang Jue, don’t push it too far!” Xu Chen clenched his fists in anger, the muscles on his face twitching violently.
“Push it too far? Am I bullying or insulting you? You’re slandering me like this, but out of respect for Uncle, I won’t hold it against you,” the alpha said, glancing at his watch. “My brother should be waking up soon at this hour. I won’t chat with you any longer.”
Xu Chen watched Shang Jue’s departing figure, rubbed his sore lower back, and muttered, “Damn it.”
Yan ZhuGui, that bastard, sooner or later he would kill that son of a bitch.
Inside the meeting room.
Xu RuZhou looked at Shang Lü and sneered, “You let him call you Uncle, how could you bring yourself to do it?”
Shang Lü looked at him with a puzzled expression. “RuZhou, what do you mean by that?”
“What do I mean?” Xu RuZhou chuckled to himself, his eyes full of disdainful mockery. “Isn’t what I said clear enough? Don’t you think that child looks a lot like you?”
“…” He thought there was something familiar about Xu Chen at first glance. Shang Lü didn’t say anything, only remained silent.
“Shang Lü, you’ve been doing well these years,” Xu RuZhou got up and slowly walked towards him. “A happy family, and two very sensible children. But what about me? I had to endure gossip from outsiders while carrying him. Xu Chen was born and cursed by others as an unwanted bastard. How could I have been so blind to have been with a man like you?”
Shang Lü was shocked, raised his head, and looked at him with disbelief. “Xu Chen is my child?”
“You can also deny it,” Xu RuZhou said sarcastically. “Anyway, I think you’re very happy now. Acknowledging him would only tarnish your good name as President Shang.” The omega stopped in front of him, forcefully pinching the alpha’s chin, forcing him to look directly into his eyes. He said in a cold tone, “You even remarried. If you liked her so much, how could you bear to have her die on you? You’re born with a curse that kills your wives, raising someone else’s son, and yet you don’t even want your own biological son. It’s simply a laughingstock to tell others. These are all the retribution you deserve.”
Shang Lü frowned and looked at him with a complex expression. “You came back just to tell me this?”
“I wanted to tell you a long time ago, but you were afraid I would pester you and wouldn’t see me. It’s hilarious. Teaching your own son to call you Uncle. I still want to laugh when I think about it,” Xu RuZhou said in an extremely sarcastic tone, shaking off his hand, finding him disgusting to look at. “A coward. I really don’t know what I saw in you before.”
“RuZhou…” Shang Lü hesitated. He had never heard Xu RuZhou mention these things before, and he had never thought about it.
