IM Chapter 16
by Volare“Didn’t your senior say you’re allergic to cats? How did you end up here?” Li Yuan wore a face full of suspicion. From her angle, she could only see the alpha’s profile, which was expressionless and quite pleasing to the eye.
Shang Jue remained composed and said in a calm tone, “I just happened to be passing by.”
Li Yuan grumbled inwardly. He hadn’t “happened to pass by” in all these years, so why today?
She’d believe that when hell freezes over.
The two walked side by side, and for the rest of the way, they both tacitly remained silent, with only the breeze passing between them.
Li Yuan felt a little uncomfortable, her eyes focused on the long road ahead, the tip of her shoe unconsciously kicking the ground lightly, making a subtle sound.
Shang Jue suddenly stopped, and Li Yuan stopped with him, puzzled. Just as she was about to ask, she saw Shang Jue’s expression instantly darken.
“Shen ChiTai!” Shang Jue’s voice was sharp, almost cracking. The alpha caught sight of the familiar figure in the alley and his instincts immediately put him on alert.
“Hey, Shang-ge…”
Li Yuan was startled by his sudden reaction. She followed the alpha’s gaze and her face was filled with astonishment.
By the time she came to her senses, she saw Shang Jue rushing into the depths of the alley.
“Damn it, get off him!!!” He abruptly reached out and grabbed the man on top of the omega, tossing him aside with a furious strength, causing the scruffy man to let out a painful groan.
“ChiTai-ge, are you alright? Open your eyes and look at me, it’s Shang Jue! Shen ChiTai, open your eyes for me, do you hear me!” Shang Jue hugged Shen ChiTai tightly, his arms trembling slightly with the force.
Shen ChiTai was shaken awake by his rough handling. He slowly opened his eyes, his head still dizzy. Looking at everything in front of him, his eyes were full of confusion, and his voice was weak: “A-Jue, what’s wrong with me?”
“What’s wrong? Shouldn’t you know better than me what happened?” Shang Jue’s voice trembled, anger and worry intertwined, making his eyes bloodshot.
Shen ChiTai’s mind was a mess, and it took him a long time to slowly come to his senses. He had been walking when suddenly a person came up from the front and bumped into him, knocking the man down on the road.
He stepped forward to help him up, and then… what happened next?
He held his head, beating it painfully, his memory blank. Then he heard someone calling his name in his ear, and when he woke up and opened his eyes, he saw Shang Jue.
Shang Jue’s hands trembled like sieves. After he helped Shen ChiTai pull up his pants, he suddenly turned around and grabbed the man on the ground like he was picking up a chicken. A punch, filled with the force of a thousand pounds of anger, landed heavily, and the man’s shrill screams and cries for mercy instantly exploded in the empty alley.
Li Yuan was frightened by the suddenly out-of-control alpha, her legs turning to jelly. The Shang Jue in front of her made her tremble. “Shang Jue, you’ll kill him!”
“Don’t anyone stop me! I’m going to beat this old bastard to death today! You’re still pretending, keep pretending, damn it, you piece of trash! Go to hell, go to hell, go to hell!!” Shang Jue’s eyes were wide, filled with horrifying red blood vessels, he roared hoarsely, and the fists under his hands showed no sign of stopping.
“Shang Jue!!!” Shen ChiTai shouted with all his strength, then his voice suddenly lowered, almost desperately pleading, “Stop it.”
Li Yuan was afraid that he would really cause a death in a fit of anger, so she didn’t care too much and rushed forward to try to stop him.
But Shang Jue had already been completely overwhelmed by what he had just seen, and had lost all reason.
As soon as Li Yuan got close, he threw her aside like garbage, causing her to fall heavily to the ground, making a dull sound. The girl was in so much pain that she couldn’t recover for a while.
“Shang Jue…” Shen ChiTai dragged his weak body and staggered towards him, using the last of his strength to hug his waist tightly, tears streaming uncontrollably down his cheeks, “Someone will die, don’t do this, I beg you.”
Shang Jue was stunned for a long time, looking at the man on the ground curled up, holding his head, and not reacting.
Li Yuan had already called the police, not caring that her palm had been scraped when she fell to the ground.
The police station was close by, and the police arrived soon after.
“Scumbag, still not behaving now that you’re old.” Shang Jue looked at the man lying on the ground, holding his stomach and screaming like a ghost, with a ferocious expression.
Shang Jue put his arm around the omega’s waist and picked him up. As he passed the almost dying man, he still didn’t feel relieved and kicked him hard in the waist.
Li Yuan glanced at the person on the ground with a cold face, and kicked him in the waist as well, still feeling unsatisfied.
After the police arrived, they took the old guy away, and Shang Jue also accompanied Shen ChiTai to the police station to file a report.
The two learned from the police that this person had a previous record of this kind of thing. However, the last time, both families considered various factors and settled the matter privately. That’s why this person was released and started doing evil again after not being peaceful for long.
According to the man’s own confession, he used an inhaled anesthetic on Shen ChiTai, which is commonly known as a mind-altering drug. He only admitted that he did have indecent behavior, and denied everything else.
The police asked him why he would attack an omega? He mumbled that he saw the boy on the roadside at the time, thought he was good-looking, and didn’t think much about it in the heat of the moment.
Shang Jue was so angry that he raised his arm and rushed towards him, but fortunately the police were quick and stopped him.
Shen ChiTai didn’t remember much about what happened after he fainted.
However, Shang Jue was the first person to see him and rush to pull the vagrant away. He should know the situation at the time better than the person involved.
Shen ChiTai was unwilling to reconcile.
The police station also said that they must not let the bad guys get away with it this time. They must give the most severe punishment to this kind of social scum, so that he can learn a lesson.
Because it was too late, and this matter couldn’t be resolved in a short time. By the time the two came out of the police station, it was already dark outside.
Li Yuan was still waiting outside, not leaving. Seeing the two coming out of the police station one after the other, she hurried over, a little worried, and looked at Shen ChiTai, “How is Senior doing?”
“I’m much better now.” The effect of the drug had worn off, and he felt a lot lighter.
Shen ChiTai lowered his eyes slightly and looked at the girl’s hand hanging by her side. “Your hand seems to be injured. Why don’t I have Shang Jue take you to the hospital to bandage it up first?”
Li Yuan quickly waved her hand. “It’s just a little scratch, it’s okay, as long as Senior is okay.”
Shen ChiTai then said, “It’s getting late, it’s not safe for a girl to walk outside alone, I’ll have A-Jue take you back first.”
“I’m fine, it’s more important to have him send Senior back to rest first.” Li Yuan said, “It’s close to school from here, and there are a lot of people along the way, it’s okay.”
Shen ChiTai wasn’t feeling too well, so he didn’t say anything more when he saw this.
“Then be careful on your way.”
“Okay.” Li Yuan turned around and glanced at Shang Jue, whose expression was cold and unchanging, and said softly, “You too,” before leaving.
Shen ChiTai didn’t say a word on the way back, and when he got home, he hurriedly left a sentence ‘I’m going to take a shower’ and left the alpha behind, going into the bathroom by himself, where he stayed for half an hour.
He stared blankly at himself in the mirror, and at the glaring hickey on his neck that he couldn’t ignore, the places where his fingertips stroked leaving a few intersecting red marks.
Shang Jue saw that he had been in there for too long and knocked on the door worriedly. The person inside responded after a moment of delay and then there was no movement at all.
The alpha was a little worried and knocked hard on the door, “ChiTai-ge, if you don’t come out, I’m coming in.”
The person inside still didn’t react. Shang Jue hesitated for a moment and was about to break in when Shen ChiTai opened the door, wearing only a loosely fitting bathrobe, his hair wet and still dripping water. He looked up at the alpha, who was almost half a head taller than him, his eyes red and wet, but he didn’t forget to reassure him, “I’m fine, it was just a few touches, really. Don’t tell Dad about this yet, I don’t want him to worry about me.”
Shang Jue wanted to kill the bastard as soon as he thought of him, but in order not to scare the omega, he tried his best to calm his violent emotions and said softly, “If the police station contacts you again, remember to tell me first.”
“Mm-hmm.” Shen ChiTai nodded lightly, his eyes lowered, not looking up.
The alpha punched the wall next to him, scaring Shen ChiTai, who was already on edge.
“ChiTai-ge, I will protect you in the future.”
Shen ChiTai looked up, reached out and grabbed his left hand, which was bulging with veins, and the skinned knuckles where he had hit the wall, his eyes full of heartache.
“I’m fine, it was just a few touches. I’m a big man, I’m not going to kill myself over this.” He said it lightly, but his smile was really a bit forced.
Shang Jue felt distressed when he saw it.
The omega only casually ate a couple of bites for dinner. Fearing that Shang Lu would notice something unusual, he got up and went back to his room after eating. Shang Lu looked at his back with a little worry, always feeling that this child was acting strange today.
Shang Jue told him not to worry, and that he would go and see him later.
Seeing that he had said so, Shang Lu didn’t think much about it.
The lights in Shen ChiTai’s room were turned off very early.
He curled up in the quilt, his body curled up, and covered his head.
In the dark night, there was a rustling sound of the door opening, like mice gnawing on the door panel.
The omega on the bed slowly opened his eyes, slowly revealing half of his head from the quilt. The next second, a dark shadow suddenly appeared in front of him.
