TRMLCM Chapter 59
by VolareChapter 59: Game
“So…”
Cheng Yi rubbed his hair, a hint of hesitation flashing across his handsome face, unsure how to explain the meaning of those two English letters to Shen Chang’an.
Cheng Yi took a deep breath, paused slightly, and finally chose to say it, “It’s an insult. F, for ‘failure,’ W, for ‘waste.'”
After explaining, he quickly defended himself, “That jungler was just too terrible, so bad yet so eager to complain. He’s nothing special himself, yet he was criticizing his teammates. I hate people like that.”
What he said was still too euphemistic; actually, Cheng Yi wanted to say that the person was just barking nonsense.
But… after explaining, Cheng Yi slightly raised his head, his deep eyes quietly fixed on Shen Chang’an’s expression, trying to see through the emotions hidden beneath his calm facade.
Shen Chang’an was looking down at his phone screen, having exited the results page and returned to the team lobby. Listening to Cheng Yi’s explanation, he calmly nodded and casually said, “Oh.”
So calm?
Cheng Yi blinked, his gaze still fixed on Shen Chang’an. Some stray strands of hair fell naturally downwards as he lowered his head, leaving a shadow, while his fair skin shone even more flawlessly under the bright lights, like jade. His red lips were slightly parted, the lip peaks as full and alluring as cherries.
After waiting a while and not seeing Cheng Yi continue the game, Shen Chang’an couldn’t help but turn to look at him.
Turning his head, he immediately saw that handsome face very close to him. Their eyes met, his pupils suddenly shook and then widened slightly, even his usually steady breathing became disordered.
Seeing Cheng Yi not moving, he felt inexplicably nervous and subconsciously pursed his red lips, his clear and cold voice hesitantly asking in a low voice, “Aren’t you going to play anymore?”
“Cough.”
His wandering thoughts were suddenly called back. Cheng Yi subconsciously coughed lightly to ease the awkwardness, his rusty brain seemed to be wound up, turning with great difficulty.
He blinked his eyelids quickly a few times, sat back upright, and tapped “Start Game” on the phone screen. The room instantly entered matchmaking.
An ambiguous atmosphere lingered around the two of them, refusing to dissipate. Cheng Yi, his ears red, tried to change the subject with the game, “Of course, I’m playing. An An, this game, you play Yao with Execute. I’ll deal the damage, and you can get the kills.”
Was it just his imagination?
How did he feel like Cheng Yi was trying to kiss him?
But then why didn’t he?
Questions constantly popped up in his mind. Shen Chang’an lowered his eyes, quietly watching the countdown to entering the game on the screen, and said in a slightly cold voice, “Okay.”
Following Cheng Yi’s advice, Shen Chang’an changed the hero’s healing skill to another Execute skill.
The countdown ended, and they quickly entered the game.
Cheng Yi could play any role except support, and he knew a little about every hero. However, in this game, if a support doesn’t follow the marksman the entire time, they’re easily dissed. If he met someone with a decent personality, it would be fine, but Cheng Yi worried that a rude player would start cursing.
His initial intention in bringing Shen Chang’an to play this game was to give him a good gaming experience and make him happy.
So in this game, Cheng Yi was still playing Marksman.
The Marksman-Yao combo was a little weak in the early game when Yao didn’t have her ultimate, but once the Marksman was farmed up, they could wreak havoc like in the first game.
This game, the opposing marksman and support were also a couple, and crucially, they were also a Marksman-Yao combo.
As soon as they arrived on the lane, the opposing Yao spoke in the all chat.
[All] You Really Love to Shout (Yao): Is someone trying to suck up to me on the other side?
No one paid her any attention. The opposing Yao probably didn’t want to perform a solo act and immediately asked targetedly.
[All] You Really Love to Shout (Yao): Doesn’t the opposing Yao want to suck up to me?
Shen Chang’an, playing Yao, glanced at the chat message, then at his cute little deer girl, and then at his locked chat interface.
So?
What did it have to do with him?
[All] You Really Love to Shout (Yao): OK, no
[All] You Really Love to Shout (Yao): Marksman, take them down
Her partner immediately cooperated with her performance, not taking the minion wave at the start and ignoring Cheng Yi’s Marksman, directly throwing skills at Shen Chang’an’s Yao, and also walking over to constantly poke with auto-attack damage.
Shen Chang’an’s positioning wasn’t very good. He used his first skill to bounce forward, but the skill hit the opposing Yao and triggered her passive. Almost all of the skill’s projectiles were eaten by him, instantly dropping his health by half.
Seeing this, Cheng Yi’s expression darkened. “An An, move back a bit.”
He continued to last-hit the last minion, taking level two first.
Seeing that the opposing Marksman and Yao had almost run to their tower and still weren’t giving up on Shen Chang’an’s kill, he directly used his first skill on the opposing Marksman.
Enclosing the two of them, he calmly said, “An An, come out now. After I stun them, you use Execute to get the kill.”
Shen Chang’an ran under the tower to eat the health pack that had just appeared, and then obediently ran out.
The opposing Marksman already wanted to run away, but seeing that he only had a third of his health bar left, his eyes lit up, and he stopped running. Seeing that his first skill was ready, he quickly swept a volley at Shen Chang’an.
But the next second, the skill was deflected by Yao’s first skill, and he himself was crippled by Cheng Yi’s first skill. Now it was too late to leave.
Seeing this, the opposing Yao ran over to save him, also launching a first skill, but because of the skill range, it floated onto Shen Chang’an, triggering Yao’s passive.
A great opportunity.
Cheng Yi immediately used his second skill to dash to the opposing Marksman and stun him. Then Shen Chang’an, transformed into a little deer, slowly walked over, the scarlet Execute skill lighting up.
“First Blood!”
The first blood was secured!
The game announcement sounded, the excited tone very inspiring.
Shen Chang’an looked at the announcement, his eyes slightly lighting up, and his mood became cheerful.
Seeing this, the opposing Yao wanted to escape, but Cheng Yi took her down with an auto-attack.
Yao’s passive quickly ended, the deer form disappeared, and she returned to her cute little girl appearance.
Looking at Shen Chang’an’s low health bar, Cheng Yi quickly cleared the second wave of minions that had arrived on the lane, and then took Shen Chang’an back to their tower.
A glint of light flashed in his deep eyes, and he chuckled softly, “Let’s go, let’s go home.”
Shen Chang’an nodded and clicked to return to base with him to replenish their health.
Perhaps because their first face-slap had been successful, the opposing Yao quieted down in the public chat, but played more fiercely on the lane, as if wanting to wash away the shame of earlier.
But with the gold from the kill, the Marksman was developing very quickly. The opposing duo was clearly no match for Cheng Yi. Although Shen Chang’an, as a newbie, didn’t have much game sense, he was a quick learner. With the experience from the first game, his cooperation with Cheng Yi was much better this game.
At least, he wouldn’t suddenly get lost in the canyon while running around.
